Fairway solitaire just owned my whole afternoon

O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Tuesday, 19 March 2013 20:08 (thirteen years ago)

I play Fairway Solitaire everyday. Love that damn game.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 19 March 2013 20:25 (thirteen years ago)

for the record jerry can is a gas can.

i've gotten almost every upgrade in fairway. i'm so hooked on playing levels until i get that big bonus. that course-a-day thing is hella addictive, especially now that you can get the bonus on the first to get the discount on the next.

s.clover, Wednesday, 20 March 2013 00:26 (thirteen years ago)

dungeon plunder is pretty good.

i petted a bodega cat today. (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 20 March 2013 00:33 (thirteen years ago)

It's good but I wish it had an option to flee. I just accidentally picked a fight with a level 10, as a level 7, and got crushed.

forks, kings of dragon pass is a trip, I haven't picked it up in a while but if you have a cross-country flight or something to get engrossed with it during you will have fun.

my god i only have 2 useless beyblade (silby), Wednesday, 20 March 2013 01:56 (thirteen years ago)

k i may jump for that one too

i petted a bodega cat today. (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 20 March 2013 02:09 (thirteen years ago)

help i got fairway solitaire and i tapped the little "plus" button in the top right-hand corner of the screen and it made a sound and now looks like it's been pressed but now nothing else is working, i can't tap on any cards, WHAT DID I DO

zero dark (s1ocki), Wednesday, 20 March 2013 02:15 (thirteen years ago)

fairway is plenty buggy; fun game but sorta broken

i petted a bodega cat today. (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 20 March 2013 02:16 (thirteen years ago)

the bugs almost always involve that in-app purchases that you mention - avoid it at all costs

Nhex, Wednesday, 20 March 2013 02:16 (thirteen years ago)

is that what that is?

zero dark (s1ocki), Wednesday, 20 March 2013 02:18 (thirteen years ago)

yup. the IAP hooks tend to get laggy, cause crashes and hangs, but once you realize to avoid them it's no longer a problem. you never have a reason to tap in the top right or bottom right corner, essentially

Nhex, Wednesday, 20 March 2013 02:26 (thirteen years ago)

and i never will

zero dark (s1ocki), Wednesday, 20 March 2013 05:48 (thirteen years ago)

anyone playing chopper mike, fetch, indiana stone, or smash the office?

слабоумие и отвага (cozen), Friday, 22 March 2013 00:05 (thirteen years ago)

it is absolutely maddening how much i'm dying in dungeon plunder. i get that's the point, but still.

s.clover, Tuesday, 26 March 2013 01:55 (thirteen years ago)

At about what level? Seems like the difficulty curve ramps up sharply at level 6/7

( ( ( ( ( ( ( (Z S), Tuesday, 26 March 2013 11:42 (thirteen years ago)

i've been dying at 4-5 :-(

No idea w/r/t strategy -- what classes are best, what to pour points into, etc. I guess I should trawl some toucharcade threads for tips.

s.clover, Tuesday, 26 March 2013 15:03 (thirteen years ago)

Mage is prob most powerful but also requires a little more skill, rogue is a good choice too. Warrior, not so much. Invest in shields/swords/power ups, a little in hearts, and none in coins.

( ( ( ( ( ( ( (Z S), Tuesday, 26 March 2013 15:20 (thirteen years ago)

Also, when you play through a few times and get pretty far, they'll give you a life scroll upon your next new character, which can really come in handy.

Biggest flaw of the game - it doesn't keep track of your high scores! ?!???

I got an iPad mini for Xmas-ish

Nimble quest is enjoyable. Not enough to make any IAPs yet but it's early

El Tomboto, Sunday, 31 March 2013 21:28 (thirteen years ago)

i've been enjoying it, nice grind so far.

Nhex, Sunday, 31 March 2013 21:42 (thirteen years ago)

It's its own kind of RPGs grind, albeit lacking any Manichaean struggle or mysterious macguffins

El Tomboto, Monday, 1 April 2013 00:00 (thirteen years ago)

Pixel People just had a big update. Still enjoying it, even if it isn't mindblowing.

emil.y, Monday, 1 April 2013 00:06 (thirteen years ago)

Other decent pastimes: Machinarium, Squids, and I guess The Room was ok but way too easy imho

El Tomboto, Monday, 1 April 2013 03:17 (thirteen years ago)

Oh and i can't forget, i thought there were just two kinds of people - fruit ninja ppl and angry birds ppl - and then I discovered that I belonged to the third race, the jetpack joyride people

El Tomboto, Monday, 1 April 2013 03:20 (thirteen years ago)

welcome bro

Nhex, Monday, 1 April 2013 04:41 (thirteen years ago)

My runner of choice lately has been Ronin. Its a jump and slash thing with a nice, brushstroke looking sense of style. When I first got it, it was way too hard and there wasn't a good sense of progress. But the updates have given it a really nice control scheme, a mission system, all the usual goodies. Its precise, challenging, and way more measured than something like punch quest.

s.clover, Monday, 1 April 2013 04:54 (thirteen years ago)

Finally lost a game of Letterpress today, first since the first week I downloaded it. Led the whole way and controlled 2 corners at 13-8 with KKH unplayed (there was no I so KHAKI was unavailable). Lost 13-12 after my opponent played KOHEKOHE, which turns out to be a medium sized tree in New Zealand. Until that point all of his/her words were alterations of mine (FLAVORED after FAVORED, OVERBROAD after OVERBOARD), nothing that would predict an ultra esoteric haymaker. I wish there was a chat feature so I could rmde at that.

Little Inferno has been great & it's now on iphone also

Tombot, I am so mad at you (and jjj) for making me go "oh hey, what is this Tiny Tower game"

Cheers.

Still loving Polymer if anyone wants two minutes of space out.

hyggeligt, Monday, 1 April 2013 21:39 (thirteen years ago)

Well, Dan, since you asked, the answer is "it's the one where my junk is 8x bigger than yours"

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 2 April 2013 03:11 (thirteen years ago)

Now I've gone and got the lightspeed elevator I'm all about costuming my dream jobbers. The recording studio is staffed by mimes, the furniture store by Vikings, etc as appropriate

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 2 April 2013 03:16 (thirteen years ago)

Dungeon Plunder A+

Euler, Tuesday, 2 April 2013 12:26 (thirteen years ago)

So far my favorite thing in Tiny Tower has been renaming the stores

I am particularly proud of my video arcade, which is called Qbert Sex Swing

the pheromones of hot clothing (DJP), Tuesday, 2 April 2013 16:27 (thirteen years ago)

I feel like when I have all the stores and all the apartments and all the people in their ideal careers I could write a novel, alternating floors chapter by chapter through the melancholy edifice of a self-building arcology of super deformed wage slaves and their endless plight of not sleeping, paying rent for no good reason, and only changing clothes when god tells them to

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 3 April 2013 02:11 (thirteen years ago)

honestly I can't tell you all how hard I lol when I get an alert on my phone that says "time to restock at QBERT SEX SWING on floor x"

the pheromones of hot clothing (DJP), Wednesday, 3 April 2013 02:24 (thirteen years ago)

That is a really gross name for a thing. Do you imagine qbert bouncing off a porn lady, foiled by his lack of apparatus, shouting qbert curses as the swing inexorably returns his pellet-shaped bod to the point of his erotic fail?

I offer about as much diversity as a saltine cracker. (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 3 April 2013 04:27 (thirteen years ago)

100% yes, until Qbert realizes "hey my nose..." and makes a critical adjustment

the pheromones of hot clothing (DJP), Wednesday, 3 April 2013 04:28 (thirteen years ago)

I'm definitely not running for office now. Supporting the war in Iraq was one thing, using the n-word in all caps, sure, but now see what you made me do? The Tombot governor dream is dead for dead and died and you dug the hole.

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 3 April 2013 04:28 (thirteen years ago)

Lol, hole.
