if that works for englishes people, bioshock for roundabout $5 is a good deal yes?

The @glennbeck have raisin b-lls and rice crispy d-ck (stevie), Tuesday, 26 February 2013 15:13 (thirteen years ago)

Hmmm...I'm not really a fan of Halo, FPS's or the Tom Clancy games, and I'm pretty burned out on racing games as well. I don't know what the Might and Magic game is but I might check that out.

( ( ( ( ( ( ( (Z S), Tuesday, 26 February 2013 15:14 (thirteen years ago)

Oh yeah, Bioshock's a great game if you haven't checked it out yet!

( ( ( ( ( ( ( (Z S), Tuesday, 26 February 2013 15:14 (thirteen years ago)

bought the M&M, never had heard of it! sounds like my kind of thing, a dumb RPG-ish dungeon crawl

Euler, Tuesday, 26 February 2013 15:15 (thirteen years ago)

definitely a great price on Bioshock, but i should remind that the retail double pack with 1, 2 + all DLC came out recently for $30

Nhex, Tuesday, 26 February 2013 15:36 (thirteen years ago)

better than Bioshock 2, which I've played?

Neil S, Tuesday, 26 February 2013 15:37 (thirteen years ago)

Mordy, I'd place Dirt 2 as the best of the three Dirt games (2 > 1 >>>>>> 3) and definitely worth $5.

pacing like a lion, as weightless as an astronaut (onimo), Tuesday, 26 February 2013 16:23 (thirteen years ago)

might give el shaddai a shot. 2.99 is a good price for some dope visuals

☕ (diamonddave85), Tuesday, 26 February 2013 16:34 (thirteen years ago)

Dark Messiah is done by Arkane, who put out Dishonored last year.

Yknow, with massive digital sales, I never worry about picking up used games. It means I can't sell mine, but...

The New Jack Mormons! (kingfish), Tuesday, 26 February 2013 17:29 (thirteen years ago)

El shaddai is super worth it!

O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Tuesday, 26 February 2013 17:46 (thirteen years ago)

Like srsly everyone should buy it for that price, that's less than a cheap xbla game. I hated rainbow 6 Vegas with a passion, so I wouldn't buy it for free dollars

O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Tuesday, 26 February 2013 17:48 (thirteen years ago)

better than Bioshock 2, which I've played?

I didn't hate bioshock 2 as much as some other people seem to have, but yes, 1 is a far better game, at least writingwise

O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Tuesday, 26 February 2013 17:51 (thirteen years ago)

is there a rolling big console new release thread? cuz I'd like to complain about crysis 3, thx.

This any use to you?

one month passes...

The only game I've boarded the hype train in 2013 and pre-ordered: Injustice: Gods Among Us. I'm psyched!

Nhex, Saturday, 13 April 2013 15:07 (thirteen years ago)

two months pass...

This strange little place opened around the corner today so I went to have a look, they were doing the new model 360 plus two games for £100 for the first 10 people to show up and I managed to be early enough for that, so grabbed one with Forza Horizon and Injustice. Now need to decide whether I'm going to flip it for profit, or replace my ancient first-gen machine with it, or become a two-xbox household, or what.

JimD, Thursday, 20 June 2013 16:05 (twelve years ago)

metro: last light is still fun. it's super linear, to the point of sometimes literally being on rails, but it's really atmospheric and there have been a number of times when i've just barely squeaked through a situation due to low ammo or being out of gas mask filters (once i thought i would have to start the game over until i remembered that you can load your currency as ammunition, since ammunition is currency). can't imagine what it would be like on 'hard'.

so this starz-branded free gladiator fighter freemium thing. kinda ok! fuck freemium tho.

goole, Friday, 12 July 2013 19:00 (twelve years ago)

lol i neglect to mention it's called spartacus something or other

So the early reviews make it sound like Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is this year's artsy-fartsy feel-good downloadable title of the year. Multi-platform too (360/PS3/PC). Who's gonna be the guinea pig?

Nhex, Wednesday, 7 August 2013 17:39 (twelve years ago)

if i go on xbox live to download some dlc but i'm using a flashed xbox with a backup disc (i paid for the orig game on pc and i'm damned if i'm paying for it twice) what are the odds that i'll get my xbox completely frozen down and have to lob it in the bin?

and what are the % odds of me happily downloading the dlc?

(game in question is splinter cell conviction, loving the DLC for it on pc but it keeps bsod'ing all the time)

NI, Wednesday, 7 August 2013 19:02 (twelve years ago)

I would probably be the 'Brothers' guinea pig, but I am getting ready to put my flat for sale so the xbox has gone into storage. I knew there'd be games I wanted to play (including, tentatively, Flashback) the moment I put it in a box. :(

CraigG, Thursday, 8 August 2013 14:17 (twelve years ago)

was happy to see Crackdown free with gold, I know it's old but I'd never gotten around to playing it

Euler, Thursday, 8 August 2013 14:21 (twelve years ago)

not that I will now either, but at least it's ~possible~

Euler, Thursday, 8 August 2013 14:21 (twelve years ago)

haha - i actually just bought the game used a few months ago, but I haven't touched it either. still, convenient to have digital.

Nhex, Thursday, 8 August 2013 14:33 (twelve years ago)

Yeah it's one of the first games I played on my 360, never quite finished it so I liked the idea of going back...but my savegame has vanished bah.

JimD, Thursday, 8 August 2013 14:56 (twelve years ago)

same here, JimD. and the game only really comes into its own once you're a fair ways deep into it, and your dude is so uber-powered he can leap tall buildings in a single bound.

There shouldn't be a thread for Dennis Perrin tweets. (stevie), Thursday, 8 August 2013 15:06 (twelve years ago)

I played the first two levels of Brothers. Very good game. The puzzles are more or less like Ratchet and Clank's puzzles, except you're moving both characters simultaneously. Each analog stick and trigger corresponds to one of the two brothers. Lots of climbing, lots of beautiful scenery. If you want something super challenging this probably isn't for you.

polyphonic, Thursday, 8 August 2013 16:24 (twelve years ago)

hmm sounds intersting?

reviews i'm seeing are saying "emotional masterpiece" and "ico meets limbo in fable's world" which kind of setting of alarms bells for me.

R'LIAH (goole), Thursday, 8 August 2013 17:11 (twelve years ago)

i run hot and cold with indie emo games (ps FUCK BRAID)

R'LIAH (goole), Thursday, 8 August 2013 17:12 (twelve years ago)

I love Braid, but always skipped the part where you read the backstory or whatever because Blow is a horrible, horrible writer. But the gameplay rules I think.

"ico meets limbo in fable's world" is fair enough although maybe the better analog would be Papo y Yo. The world reminded me a little bit of the Nepal section of Uncharted 2.

Also, if you don't have any dialog, you don't have any bad dialog.

polyphonic, Thursday, 8 August 2013 17:24 (twelve years ago)

Aw, kinda bummed that all the reviews for Ducktales Remastered are more or less universally negative

Nhex, Wednesday, 14 August 2013 04:36 (twelve years ago)

just finished brothers. it's beautiful, it has a few touching moments. save your first (and only) playthrough for a co-op experience with your significant other or friend. it's not challenging, whatsoever, but there are moments that would probably be more enjoyable with a companion. takes about 4 hours to complete.

What a mess xbox live/microsoft account management is.

Trying to log into my profile on 360, not having it. Tried resetting password. failure. Tried creating a new profile - email already exists. Tried contacting them, tells me to put in TWO different email address ?!!?!

fuck them. I've had it with their shit.

Heard good things about an XBLIG title called One Finger Death Punch. It's actually a pretty good game with a fun two button, no-stick mechanic, but as soon as I started hearing some jackass sacking "ROUND-UH ONE" in a bad accent it was like god fuckin' damn it

Nhex, Sunday, 15 September 2013 03:08 (twelve years ago)

I remember in some thread posting a while back that I didn't "get" Rayman: Origins when I first played it a year ago or so. Tried it again tonight on a whim - pulled a total 180 on this one. It's really not a game that you should first play in frantic multiplayer, but one you should play by yourself, at your own pace, with headphones and close to the TV if possible, to drink it all in. The music, animation, and design is just wonderful.

Nhex, Sunday, 15 September 2013 16:21 (twelve years ago)

crazy sale on at the moment. just bought Arkham City for under £4. Also bought Tony Hawk PSHD because I never got Skate and was feeling nostalgic, but have since remembered that it got pasted in the reviews.

can't go wrong w/AC

Nhex, Saturday, 22 February 2014 21:41 (twelve years ago)

better to get the GOTY ed or just snag the $5 one?

Euler, Saturday, 22 February 2014 22:41 (twelve years ago)

probably not. the Harley Quinn episode is a dud, but if you like the Challenge maps and skins (many of which admittedly are pretty cool) they're worth a few extra bucks IMO

Nhex, Saturday, 22 February 2014 22:43 (twelve years ago)

ok then I'll just get the fiver then

still haven't played the first one (which I've had on disk for like three years now) so this is really just me indulging the hoarding that seems endemic to being a gamer today

Euler, Saturday, 22 February 2014 23:37 (twelve years ago)

*shameful high-five*

Nhex, Saturday, 22 February 2014 23:38 (twelve years ago)

Tony Hawks PS HD is actually fine, though I have a high threshold for crappy games

I'm trying to play the free copy of Halo 4 that came with my system but it is so fucking boring.

polyphonic, Thursday, 27 February 2014 20:48 (twelve years ago)

the first halo was fucking boring! never understand that series

i keep meaning to use this thread to document ridiculous-ass gamertags but i always forget in the heat of the moment

besides the great weeded tough guy ones my absolute favorite are the pathetic fanboy 'DarkAssassinDeathLordBladeVampire' ones. always make me smile

I like the obviously auto-generated ones. Mine was TallowyRelic6 for a while.
