Shooter fans should definitely check out Raiden Legacy for solid ports of Raiden, Fighters, 2 & Jet. Touch controls work fine. Five dollar price point is good compared to the Cave ports. Also the games are more straight forward, so maybe better suited to iOS? Just remember to change the default screen setting from full screen to original, so you don't have to put your finger over the action.

I'm terrible at these games -- I always get excited to see I'm in sane distance of best in the county or etc. and then invariably I'm below the 50% mark worldwide.

*respect knuckles 2 broc*, think i'm burning out on it though, the amount of letter juggling and backtracking you have to do to get anything like that.

I'm playing Baldur's Gate on iPad. The team could have done a bit more work to make the interface appropriate for touch controls, but once you know what you're doing it's fine.

I never played BG when it came out, but I'm finding this 15 year-old RPG really, really entertaining. It's funny, the fights are deadly dangerous, and the statistics/inventory management aspect is suitably autistic. In Skyrim I can zoom in and rotate on any piece of treasure I find, but strangely I enjoy dumb pixelated swords in BG just as much.

magic is impressive, but now, minsc leads! swords for everyone!

rune raiders isn't bad but plays through fast.

i played the heck out of it for the first couple of days but found a lot of the bugs to be frustrating. i'm currently giving it a rest to see if any updates come down the line to fix some of my issues

dungeon village is way too addicting.

i'm playing in it now (up to a 3 star village) but i wish it was a little more difficult!

but yeah, in typical kairosoft fashion, it's really addicting anyway.

at year 20 and i can't make five stars for the life of me.

i figure a second playthrough i'll understand how to do that.

you may already know that stuff, but that revealed a few basic things that i had no clue about. i didn't know, for example, that adventurers buy items in the shop that they already have equipped. so it makes sense to give them expensive weapons/armor because then they'll go and purchase that item repeatedly at the store after that!

I guess I just got lucky, because I didn't really have a clue what I was doing, but I hit five stars on my first play through at around 11 years I think? Then from there up until the deadline I wasn't sure what to work on beyond turning everyone into robots. Anyway, final clear ponts score was 169,120 with 1,142,010 monies. Not sure whether that's good or not, these games need leaderboards.

No games needs leaderboards. The top tens are always full of scores literally 100 times higher than your best and you just sit there looking at them thinking how? are you cheating? how? i don't get it, i just don't get it ;_;

I have pretty much played the orig version to death and gotten most all of the achievements except for the absurdly challenging ones, but I haven't gotten nearly enough out of this, so it's rad as fuck to know there's a whole 'nother map out there.

I paid full square enix price for ff4 and I dont regret it.. ff2 on the snes was the first game I ever bought for this console and the update is great.

Graphics are hugely upgraded. Scenery isn't as monotonous.

it'll be free so i'll get it, but i was also disappointed in TR: Brave. Punch Quest proved to me that you can still do new stuff with this genre, so i'll give this a chance
