FTL is pretty awesome. I've been playing all week.

xp it's cool that millions will go charity through Humble, but i'm not sure that amount will even make a dent in THQ's debt

I got Hotline Miami for $5 during the last steam sale. I haven't played it much (maybe 20-30 minutes), but what I played didn't really impress me. People seem to love it, but for me it seemed too basic / too violent to capture my interest. From what I could see, all you do is walk into a room, figure out quickly how to kill everyone and move on to the next room, sort of trial by error gameplay (it's exactly the same every time you go in a room). It does have an interesting visual style and music, but overall it felt kind of garbage to me. I'm still planning to go back and play it more.

FTL looks like it has a lot more depth. I'm definitely planning on picking it up at some point (probably during a holiday sale). I'm in a rouge-like mood though, so your mileage may vary.

I think the reason I haven't bothered to pick up FTL yet is mainly that the art style looks really bland & boring?

FTL and hotline miami are both totally worth the price. FTL is probably more fun but hm is ~~art~~ or whatever

FTL worth it. Hotline keeps killing me, not sure if its worth it.

Also, Dishonored for PC is cheap on Amazon now again, but its a physical copy.

Right. I've discovered that I can change my hotel/car rental credits into amazon gift cards, so now I finally have a way to convert all the bidness travel I do into actual vidja games

Hotline reminds me of Spelunky, but less cruel. Still cruel, though.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's the kind of pack where you get gift doubles... which is a good reason to buy everything on Steam as a gift to your inventory, in the case a cheap bundle comes out before you can play a game. But that is REALLY tedious.

bought I Am Alive for like $5 on a flash sale and that was overpriced. controls are so slow and dumb that you just die every few minutes.

Amazon has had some decent bundles lately, like the complete Darksiders 2/all DLC for $13 (that Steam immediately matched). There's a bonus to buying bundled Steamworks stuff from Amazon, though- by default you get individual codes for every game and piece of content.

So who wants a free copy of Sega Bass Fishing for Steam? Come on, people, get it while it's hot fifteen years old!

OK, Bioshock 2 has found a home. I'm out of codes, but people may want to take a look at the "Desert to Sea bundle" on Amazon- $10 for Spec Ops: The Line (which is $15 on its own on Steam during the holiday sale) with both Bioshocks.

And as with the other Amazon bundles, they're all separate codes, so you can break them apart and give away duplicates or games you're not interested in.

That sounds like an awesome deal, though I already own Bioshock 1 + 2, so I'll pass and probably wait for Spec Ops to drop to $5. Being able to give away the keys is definitely a positive in buying from Amazonm though.

i would love to partake in steam sales if i was confident my dumb laptop could play any game worth paying money for. if it could play the demo for portal 1 pretty decently is there a chance it could run bioshock? (i was surprised abt portal)
