bought the Universe Sandbox. Not impressed. Had it on realistic high settings and already just by viewing our solar system apparently four of Jupiters moons decided to collide with each other lol

Humble THQ Bundle is Windows-only and requires Steam to playPay $1 or more for Steam keys for Company of Heroes (and its two full-blown expansions Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor), Darksiders, Metro 2033, and Red Faction: Armageddon. And if you pay over the average price you’ll also receive the extraordinary Saints Row: The Third!
wow! https://www.humblebundle.com/
― ばか ざっぴ (zappi), Thursday, 29 November 2012 20:13 (thirteen years ago)
THQ are in massive financial difficulty btw, this is probably a last attempt to stave off insolvency
― ばか ざっぴ (zappi), Thursday, 29 November 2012 20:18 (thirteen years ago)
good luck with that (i gave $6 to charity, 0 to thq)
― abanana, Thursday, 29 November 2012 20:35 (thirteen years ago)
that's worth two bucks, yes.
― (alternatively, “Respec’”) (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 29 November 2012 21:20 (thirteen years ago)
paid £3.67 for Saints Row 3! and a load of other stuff! awes, thanks for the heads-up.
― thomasintrouble, Thursday, 29 November 2012 22:29 (thirteen years ago)
got it, too good to pass up, even if i may never play them. but hey, Red Faction Armageddon, why not
― Nhex, Friday, 30 November 2012 02:50 (thirteen years ago)
All 3 Company of Heroes titles are quality. This is well worth it.
― calstars, Friday, 30 November 2012 02:54 (thirteen years ago)
yeah, 100% to charity, can't wait to see what saints row 3 can do on pc, that game was so fucking fun on xbox.
― adam, Friday, 30 November 2012 18:32 (thirteen years ago)
Spec Ops currently $5 on Amazon.
AAA games for a fiver are usually a great idea.

some German website is doing an advent calendar of daily free PC games, first one is Splinter Cell: Double Agent. seems to work from the UK, although you have to sign-up to a site to get the game. worth keeping an eye on at least. WARNING: link contains autoplay xmas muzak http://www.chip.de/artikel/Download-Adventskalender_33781926.html
― ばか ざっぴ (zappi), Saturday, 1 December 2012 14:52 (thirteen years ago)
that humble bundle added red faction DLC and Titan Quest; def a good two dollar investment for all that
― (alternatively, “Respec’”) (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 6 December 2012 21:04 (thirteen years ago)
The Humble THQ Bundle, which includes a cornucopia of the publisher's games, earned over $2 million in 24 hours. With six days to go on the pay-what-you-want bundle, it's currently pulled in $3.7 million, with the average purchase of the eight-game bundle a mere $5.58. That's about four and half shares of THQ stock.

Anyone wanna tell me if FTL or Hotline Miami are worth playing now ($5/$6), or waiting for their inevitable indie bundle inclusion
― Nhex, Thursday, 6 December 2012 21:28 (thirteen years ago)
FTL is pretty awesome. I've been playing all week.
― Mordy, Thursday, 6 December 2012 21:29 (thirteen years ago)
xp it's cool that millions will go charity through Humble, but i'm not sure that amount will even make a dent in THQ's debt
― Nhex, Thursday, 6 December 2012 21:29 (thirteen years ago)
I got Hotline Miami for $5 during the last steam sale. I haven't played it much (maybe 20-30 minutes), but what I played didn't really impress me. People seem to love it, but for me it seemed too basic / too violent to capture my interest. From what I could see, all you do is walk into a room, figure out quickly how to kill everyone and move on to the next room, sort of trial by error gameplay (it's exactly the same every time you go in a room). It does have an interesting visual style and music, but overall it felt kind of garbage to me. I'm still planning to go back and play it more.
FTL looks like it has a lot more depth. I'm definitely planning on picking it up at some point (probably during a holiday sale). I'm in a rouge-like mood though, so your mileage may vary.
― JCL, Thursday, 6 December 2012 21:40 (thirteen years ago)
I think the reason I haven't bothered to pick up FTL yet is mainly that the art style looks really bland & boring?
― JCL, Thursday, 6 December 2012 21:54 (thirteen years ago)
the gameplay is fab
― Mordy, Thursday, 6 December 2012 21:58 (thirteen years ago)
MOO1/2 on gog for Mac now, might bite
― Euler, Thursday, 6 December 2012 21:59 (thirteen years ago)
FTL and hotline miami are both totally worth the price. FTL is probably more fun but hm is ~~art~~ or whatever
― adam, Thursday, 6 December 2012 22:10 (thirteen years ago)
FTL worth it. Hotline keeps killing me, not sure if its worth it.
Also, Dishonored for PC is cheap on Amazon now again, but its a physical copy.
― "It's the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Drunk!" (kingfish), Friday, 7 December 2012 05:37 (thirteen years ago)
I think Dishonored is Steamworks anyway
― Nhex, Friday, 7 December 2012 05:46 (thirteen years ago)
Right. I've discovered that I can change my hotel/car rental credits into amazon gift cards, so now I finally have a way to convert all the bidness travel I do into actual vidja games
― "It's the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Drunk!" (kingfish), Friday, 7 December 2012 06:24 (thirteen years ago)
Hotline is half off today
― pun lovin criminal (polyphonic), Friday, 7 December 2012 23:03 (thirteen years ago)
I can't stop listening to the Hotline Miami soundtrack:http://soundcloud.com/devolverdigital/sets/hotline-miami-official
Especially the Sun Araw tracks and Jasper Byrne's "Miami," the song from the live-action trailer.

H:M is effing brutal, both in content and how I keep friggin' dying, especially after drinking.
― "It's the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Drunk!" (kingfish), Sunday, 9 December 2012 22:03 (thirteen years ago)
Hotline reminds me of Spelunky, but less cruel. Still cruel, though.
― pun lovin criminal (polyphonic), Sunday, 9 December 2012 22:06 (thirteen years ago)
okay so now they added warhammer 40k dawn of war to that thq pack.if you haven't blown a few bucks on this yet, you really should.

i should throw 'em some bucks for the effort they've put into the Mac ports, but will I ever really play Theme Hospital again?
― Nhex, Wednesday, 12 December 2012 21:31 (thirteen years ago)
I downloaded the free Duke Nukem 3D - never played it before!
I'm definitely planning on picking up La Mulana finally - 50% off. Was hoping it would come to steam, but it seems stuck in greenlight limbo...
― JCL, Thursday, 13 December 2012 01:50 (thirteen years ago)
Grimrock $3.74, some others at the same price. Has anyone tried The Real Texas? Looks interesting.

thank you Humble Bundle for putting the 2 games I already own but haven't played in the "pay above the average" section this time
― a panda, Malmö (a passing spacecadet), Wednesday, 19 December 2012 20:49 (thirteen years ago)
i might get it anyway, since you're getting a crap-ton of Dungeon Defenders DLC. not that i've played that game for more than a minute. but Grimrock + mac ports (as well as Shank 2), nice
― Nhex, Wednesday, 19 December 2012 21:46 (thirteen years ago)
ugh, i already have more games than i have time to play and now like everything on gog is on sale???
