i find it easier to focus on opening up the shortcuts. i have to bring tunnel man a shotgun before i can open the ice caves shortcut, sadly i have not perfected my shopkeeper ganking technique. dude gets irate.

shopkeeper ganking was CRAZY hard on the PC version

speaking of irate shopkeepers, is it EVER worth taking the golden statue? it seems like every other time it ransacks the shop and then i have a crazed murderer on my trail

I almost always take it - I need my points! You're right though - probably 25% of the times I grab it, the shop keeper will end up killing me at some point, or make me miss some good stuff while I try to avoid him. Then again, probably 25% of the time, besides getting the statue points, the boulder will clear out some good gems or a shop or other good things I'd have missed out on too.

Friend leaderboards are just broke in this, right? They don't seem to be ordered by score, or depth, or by the alphabet or anything, unless I'm missing something really stupid. The global boards seem fine, idgi.

Almost got a half decent score at last but then tunnel man asked me to give him $10,000. Not sure it was a good deal anyway, not using the shortcut much.

(also I don't think I have you on my list adam, I'm Jimdoo).

so i finally got to the jungle levels and figured out that if you save the woman/man/dog you get extra life. making progress!

how does high score work? do you get calculated on gold per level, or on overall goal after one adventure playthrough? does game ever end or do u always eventually die?

so spelunky is great! i'm totally addicted. also love all the nethack homages + influences all over. it kinda is sidescrolling nethack

really hate the art style on dust: an elysian tale, it looks like a substandard vanillaware rip

Mordy - what's the confusion? High score is based on how much gold you have when you die.

i guess it's weird bc for instance, ZS is rank 2368 which i think is best among my friends, but he is at the bottom of my list and my rank 6782 (looks like third best?) is at the top and the 2nd best rank on my list is 4 down. it's not actually arranged by high score?

DAMMIT, Mordy! I haven't played for weeks and it will take me ~300 deaths to get back into peak form!

I'm at something like 290 deaths, haven't even seen the ice caves yet, still pretty addicted though. Anyone got past them? Anyone clocked the game?

I got to the last room of the ice caves (that's the place right after jungle right?) when an ice breathing mammoth hit me and i broke into a million pieces. i think i can actually open up the shortcut if i can find a shotgun to give to the tunnel guy.

the farthest i ever got was also the last level of the ice caves.

I also have yet to make it past the ice caves (can't remember if 3-3 or 3-4 is the best I've done). Still working at it though.

i actually successfully bought the ankh recently. didn't get to unlock city of gold unfortunately (or even escape the black market alive). once i do tho gg

finally got past the ice caves to the ancient ruins. got melted by the lava on i think the second stage of the ruins. new high score:

I am loving happy wars, esp now that I have started doing all the geeky item management stuff, it's got just enough tower defense stuff balanced with just the right amount of 15 on 15 pvp shit. Plus level progression and loot and tactical stuff and moments of utter madness. Highly recommend.

Right now fez is goty for me, but happy wars is rising quick, although the lobby crash ratio is infuriating
