been playing OG Borderlands for the first time via PS+. its ok? the menu system is a bit crappy. i like the rpgish numbers popping up when you shoot stuff. is there more to it than "go there and shoot dude" for the whole game? cos i get bored of that kind of game pretty quickly.

put in a few hours last night and i uh im not sure i like B2 very much? i remember thinking it was kind of lame that the first one didnt have any voiced npcs, but now that i have heard the script and the actors they have chosen, i rescind that criticism, because this first dude with the robot arm and leg is the worst shit ever.

Haha no never mind this is the best shut ever, just needed to bang my way through some dumb early quests

ok let me share a big huge flashing pay attention warning here - this game only supports a single simultaneous playthrough. so if like me you get drunk and think, hey maybe i should check out one of the other characters, you start back at square one with no way to revert to your original game. fucking infuriating.

oh never mind, there is a select character option on the front page, i am an idiot, carry on.

even though this is exactly the same game over again, there are a host of small tweaks and touches throughout that aggregate to make it a really worthwhile sequel and i am very much enjoying it so far

i have the siren character for mp - the special ability works out a treat but i am not too hot on the skill tree so far - and the commando for sp, cos the turret is super helpful on your own.

the quest from a npc named 'loggins' that was all about top gun and involved burning down a volleyball court and shooting 3 'shirtless dudes' was pretty lol

yeah the loggins thing was great

do you have to be able to aim in this game

kinda sorta but not really? i think that a lot of the shooting is still under the hood dice roll stuff - maybe not the sniper rifles as much, but i think if you are pointing the gun at something, that mostly does it - basically target recognition.

I may stop playing Tokyo Jungle long enough to try this

Or I may switch back to Pinball Arcade, it's all a little bit of a tossup

BULLETSTORM

this is longer than bulletstorm, but bulletstorm prob sells for about $4 at this point hence my suggestion. and it was the best game of last year.

^^ currently downloading this via PS+, even tho it looks like the polar opposite of something i'd enjoy. but it's "free"!

weird thing abt bulletstorm is that it looks like a shooter, but when you get the whip arm deal it turns into some other crazed score attack melee hybrid thing full of environmental hazards and weirdo actually fun stage change ups. one of the few games that never ever let up on the innovation or wore out its welcome during the entire single player campaign.

but it looks like Michael Bay made it! will try it out tho. anyway finished Borderlands earlier today, it was ok as a Fallout clone but not as fun. DJP do you know WOW has pokemons now.

I already had collected 40+ pets, including a battle truck that you could fill with Mountain Dew and sic onto other battle trucks, so the idea of turning them into a stable of fighting machines is kind of alluring (although I don't know how the sheep that eventually gets eaten by a suddenly materializing wolf is going to fare)

Ok mechromancer class is officially the shit, bailing on my gunzerker single player play through and doing this one, despite being like level 18 or whatevr

bought the season pass for this, i want to play it forever.

Pirate DLC is great btw, could have easily gone with reskinned enemies (and there's a little of that) but mostly its new feeling content, some great variations on the theme - much like the zombie island of dr ned from the first one, its a totally worthwhile download and looks like it might clock in at 10 hours or so if you do all the side missions. do not attempt before level fifteen or u will get mercilessly pwned.

one HUGE improvement in this over the original is everything involved with vehicles and vehicular combat

just got an xbox and this game kind of turned me around on the whole FPS phenom
