haha, awesome.

I'm actually proud of this one!.

That was awesome!
I just picked up Skate 2 (I didn't play the first one as I just recently got a PS3) and managed to get a very strange bail about 5 minutes after I left the tutorial park:
spinning bulldog

haha, that's some WWF shit right there.
Really want to be playing Skate 2 today but I feel a bit shitty so didn't go to the shops and I don't have any CDRs or working newsgroups to hax0r it.

I apparently trigger all sorts of weird physics when I bail:
Bench Launcg

Imagine "Launch" for "Launcg"
haha, that's a good one too!

I can wipe out like nobody's business; the whole stay on the board and complete challenges isn't always easy.
Absolutely loving it despite my inability to complete challenges. Sucking horribly at a game but wanting to play it for hours is a great, great thing.
― EZ Snappin, Saturday, 24 January 2009 14:07 (fifteen years ago) link
Well, this one required many, many bails before I got it right; the final landing is a bit hard, but better than a faceplant:
Who says you can't do Tony Hawk lines in Skate?

ha tht's awesome

playing skate online noises me up so much because the cunts just do 180 360 flip to manual to 180 inward heelflip and get a stupid 3x multiplier and it makes you feel like an idiot. Really want to play it with like minded pwnz0rz of the ILG variety once I get it going.
― Women can be captains too, you know? (jim), Sunday, 25 January 2009 06:59 (fifteen years ago) link
plus that video was pretty sweet.
should I get skate or skate2? skate is cheaper obviously.

for PS3 BTW

Get Skate 2 for PS3 - I'd love to play online but as was pointed out most everyone are asshats.

this seems quite a bit harder than the first one.
― Bone Thugs-N-Harmony ft Phil Collins (jim), Monday, 26 January 2009 14:34 (fifteen years ago) link
I didn't play the first, but this one is kicking my butt. My career is not going well, though I must admit just skating around and finding a fun line is cool.
― EZ Snappin, Monday, 26 January 2009 16:09 (fifteen years ago) link
I am complete ass at anything vert related.
Good thing about this game: the graphics creator, although it would obv be much better if you could draw your own shit mspaint stylee rather than use their shapes and etc. but the text has allowed me to have a black deck with Bawbag written in it in pink. Which is awesome.

I'm up and running with Skate 2. Let's do this thing!
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 01:35 (fifteen years ago) link
It's crazy how early in the game they expect you to beat Danny Way in a big air challenge. That was one of the last challenges in skate 1.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 05:42 (fifteen years ago) link
haha, yeah. I found the challenge about as hard as that challenge in the first one as well. Steep learning curve for someone who is new to the game.
― Bone Thugs-N-Harmony ft Phil Collins (jim), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 12:36 (fifteen years ago) link
The point thresholds seem to be a little more forgiving, but otherwise it's pretty damned hard.

don't actually know how you find them, but if you're on Xbox live I uploaded a spot, it's just a rooftop jump in to the old pool but it's ok. My gamertag is JimMessina

― Bone Thugs-N-Harmony ft Phil Collins (jim), Friday, 30 January 2009 01:39 (fifteen years ago) link
This game is so much harder than the first one. I'm stuck on a bunch of different things, it's humiliating!
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Friday, 30 January 2009 07:01 (fifteen years ago) link
yeah I know, I have 4 pro challenges that I'm stuck on. One of them, the Alien manual shop, is definitely achievable, I've just made a mess of it a few times and got bored, the other ones, vert with the vampire, blaow!!, and can you spell girl? I'm nowhere near doing.
― Bone Thugs-N-Harmony ft Phil Collins (jim), Friday, 30 January 2009 13:27 (fifteen years ago) link
anyone figured out the easy way to do the danny way challenge yet?
― cozwn, Saturday, 31 January 2009 22:03 (fifteen years ago) link
the camera DLC looks neat, but fuck if I'd pay for something shd be in the retail game
― cozwn, Sunday, 1 February 2009 12:18 (fifteen years ago) link
I think I may have finished this game, apart from a few "Do this trick that is impossible for polyphonic to do on command" missions.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 17:27 (fifteen years ago) link
I think I might be done too, though there are many things left to accomplish. I hate the "do this trick and then this other one" and playing S.K.A.T.E. All the ones that let you decide what to do - do a grab over X, a flip over Y - I'll spend all day figuring out what line I need; but screw the other crap. I'll just freeskate so I can shut off pedestrians, traffic & security.
― EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 3 February 2009 20:23 (fifteen years ago) link
The races were a lot of fun. Adding an enormous mountain was a awesome idea.
I made another video last night:

Nicely done! I like the 2nd one you have up (up at the megapark) - I haven't been able to land that line.
I've updated mine - a few new vids and pics. This one made me laugh:

Triple heelflip to a grind, not a completely awesome video or anything but i totally surprised myself doing it and it's fairly sweet.
― Bone Thugs-N-Harmony ft Phil Collins (jim), Thursday, 12 February 2009 21:25 (fifteen years ago) link
That is a great line! Be proud of it.
― EZ Snappin, Thursday, 12 February 2009 21:28 (fifteen years ago) link
I gave up and sold this today. I was not going to progress without some fighting game learn all the nuances so you can pull out every trick on command bs. I just don't have the time. Plus, the asshole quotient online was way, way too high - if I asked for help on executing something, or tips on how to work a line I was booted. Nice people.
I don't regret buying it - the time until I plateaued was amazing - but repeating a line for an hour stopped the fun. Respect to all who master it, but like with fighting games, that's not why I play.
― EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 17 February 2009 18:38 (fifteen years ago) link
How far in did you get? As someone who has "beaten" both games, I don't think I'll ever get even close to as good as the dudes who play online.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 18:57 (fifteen years ago) link
Guessing from what I read online somewhere past the middle. I hate playing S.K.A.T.E., and it seems like there became more and more of these as time went on. Shutting off the volume helped me get through the Dyrdek stuff, but it seemed to lose the fun factor as it went on. Every time I unlocked something I didn't feel like I accomplished something but that I had unleashed more impending drudgery on myself.
Back to Burnout Paradise for my pick up and play fun game.
