wow @ BG; still have pc disks waiting for that day when I have time to play it, but I'd way rather play it w/o messing with emulation so this is big

Euler, Thursday, 22 March 2012 20:50 (fourteen years ago)

I would seriously consider getting an iPad just for that

Such a sad day :-( ★

by Wayne Fields

After waiting for weeks my son was crying hysterically because he was unable to download this app on his 1st gen iPhone. Why? because the app requires iOS 4.0!! Just so rovio can start making more money by charging for new levels!! That is the only reason for them making it to iOS 4.0!
Shame shame! Half a billion downloads wasn't enough for them! Millions of dollars in merchanise is not enough either!
Why Rovio? Why?

because your son is using an antique?

ffs

people who rate down software because it doesn't suit them are savages

Autumn Almanac (Schlafsack), Thursday, 22 March 2012 21:02 (fourteen years ago)

like if this is ipad3 only i could see upgrading

apparently the ipad3 was a mistake with the url or something, it's going to support all ipads apparently

that being said, looking forward to this quite a bit

are there any GREAT ios rpgs

Chaos Rings for sure. It's a SquareRnix developed exclusively for iOS. I really liked Infinity Blade too but that's not v in depth. I hear Zenonia's a great 8/16bit rpg too

Also Eternal Legacy

Zenonia is not great, but quite passable. Like, a couple steps below Golden Sun level.

Nhex, Friday, 23 March 2012 00:08 (fourteen years ago)

ipad only but amoebattle is a pretty sweet, full-feature RTS
battleloot adventure is super simple but engaging enough for awhile to justify a buck
also the hacker and saturday morning rpg are free and look interesting

whoever linked that nyt article about the guy who invented drop7, gfy.

I had never heard of that game until I read about it and now…. goddammit.

pplains, Wednesday, 11 April 2012 16:02 (fourteen years ago)

okay, i missed the punchline from the other thread: is gfy "good for you" or "go fuck yourself" or is it meant to be ambiguous

boy, was that Dan Fielding hungry for some cake! (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 11 April 2012 16:07 (fourteen years ago)

drop 7 even has its own dedicated thread pplains. my iphone is dying and there's no way i can afford a new one. the only thing that saddens me is that i won't be able to play drop 7 anymore if that happens.

Spelltower on sale at $0.99, will give a try and report back

Nhex, Thursday, 19 April 2012 16:31 (fourteen years ago)

Dude... if you are at all a word game freak like I am that will be the worst (w/r/t yr productivity and/or life) purchase you make in a very, very long time.

Though also if you are like me you will quickly get a really really high score that makes replaying the game seem pointless

Time, a group with Jam and Lewis (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 19 April 2012 17:17 (fourteen years ago)

I love the design of Spelltower. It's so classy looking.

polyphonic, Thursday, 19 April 2012 17:37 (fourteen years ago)

Spelltower is great, though I get the impression it probably works better on iPad, as my sausage stylus fingers are too big to easily do chains in fluid swipes. What really impresses me though, it that somehow it seems that they perfected the algorithm to give you a REALLY hard to find a word just in time to save your ass? But maybe I'm just imagining things.

Tried out Dungeon Raid after seeing it in P&C, also a buck - totally awesome

Puzzlejuice also down to a buck, any reppers?

Nhex, Sunday, 22 April 2012 22:02 (fourteen years ago)

just letting you guys know that dungeon raid is destroying my life now. both thanks and fuck you to those who voted for it for C&P

Nhex, Saturday, 28 April 2012 22:10 (fourteen years ago)

I like Puzzlejuice but it's sort of like ... Spelltower was already hard enough, but now you expect me to play Tetris at the same time? Cruel.

polyphonic, Saturday, 28 April 2012 22:47 (fourteen years ago)

Wolfenstein 3d is free
it's like my dream of the future finally came true

schwantz, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 23:01 (fourteen years ago)

After breaking 11k+ in Spelltower's puzzle mode I have little desire to play this game ever again.

Crazy amount of iOS sales this weekend for Memorial Day. You can start here:
http://www.becausewemay.com/ios.html

(check out the PC/mac/Steam titles too)

guess i'll pick up Forget-Me-Not due to the hype on here, probably will get Trainyard too. will try to remember to pick up Puzzlejuice this time.

Infinity Blade II dropped to $3 also. How are the Mass Effect and Dead Space games? they dropped to a buck.

Nhex, Thursday, 24 May 2012 23:19 (fourteen years ago)
