anorange (abanana), Sunday, 30 October 2011 05:25 (fourteen years ago)

whew, finally got the hardest shiny trinket in the game. so hard, but so much fun.

Mordy, Sunday, 30 October 2011 17:09 (fourteen years ago)

Please tell me it was the Veni Vidi Vici etc. set of rooms, because I still got about 30% of the game to go

Nhex, Sunday, 30 October 2011 20:40 (fourteen years ago)

yeah, that's the hardest one by far

Mordy, Sunday, 30 October 2011 20:46 (fourteen years ago)

i finished all of the trinkets today. not sure if i'm going to bother w/ all the time runs and like beating the game w/out dying once...

Mordy, Sunday, 30 October 2011 20:46 (fourteen years ago)

yeahhh no way i'm gonna do that, the game kicked my ass enough. still, an easy recommendation, and the chiptunes were sooooo good

might also get that Ghostbusters game from last year (not the downloadable game that came out more recently)... $2.50 on Steam, but no multiplayer in the PC version

Nhex, Sunday, 30 October 2011 22:58 (fourteen years ago)

VVVVVV is so damn great, the 3rd humble indie bundle as a whole was really fine, tho now I'm badly stuck halfway through Braid and that annoys the hell out of me :<

Steam sale had me buy Bioshock, as I still haven't played it yet; kinda considering L4D2 - is it worth it?

V79, Sunday, 30 October 2011 23:09 (fourteen years ago)

L4D2 is absolutely worth it, great game. If you haven't played any L4D, I'd recommend getting the bundle w/1 and 2, though 2 definitely has all the gameplay improvements and some of the maps from part 1. You should try to get at least one friend you know you can play it with, or good tolerance for playing with randoms, as there isn't really any single player besides running through the campaigns with bots as your partners.

The reason I still recommend part 1, despite half the maps being imported into L4D2, is that I think they may have added too many choices to part 2, in terms of the number of special zombie types, items, weapons, and so on - the first one had a more pure arcade simplicity to it. Also I prefer the characters in the first game as well. But the second game definitely has better maps and gameplay modes, generally. I'm not a fan of versus, but that's easily much better in the second game, too.

Do you like tower defense games? If so, all yours. I haven't had much time to get stuck into it yet, but the first level seemed fun, and it's getting quite positive reviews.

muus lääv? :D muus dut :( (Telephone thing), Monday, 31 October 2011 03:40 (fourteen years ago)

sure! thanks!

google sluething so hard right now (forksclovetofu), Monday, 31 October 2011 04:10 (fourteen years ago)

Here's the worst Humble Bundle yet: one unfinished game.
http://www.humblebundle.com/

Rumor is that Binding of Isaac and some others will be added to it.

anorange (abanana), Tuesday, 1 November 2011 07:48 (fourteen years ago)

And yet...

Andrew Farrell, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 13:14 (fourteen years ago)

if they add binding, i'll buy.

google sluething so hard right now (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 1 November 2011 14:41 (fourteen years ago)

binding halloween update went up. this game is so good.

Mordy, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 14:55 (fourteen years ago)

Binding of Isaac is in the bundle now. And so is Blocks That Matter, whatever that is. To be fair Vocatron also looks like it'll be great fun once it's finished. I've bought them.

JimD, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:11 (fourteen years ago)

all of you go get this. for binding of isaac alone.

Mordy, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 17:27 (fourteen years ago)

sold

Steaming pile of shit

Hackers gained unauthorized access to user information on the digital videogame distribution service Steam last weekend, the company that runs the service has said.

Information in the database, which was accessed on Sunday, November 6, included “user names, hashed and salted passwords, game purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information,” according to Valve CEO Gabe Newell

rockapads, Friday, 11 November 2011 01:11 (fourteen years ago)

Nhex, Friday, 11 November 2011 01:46 (fourteen years ago)

Mordy, Friday, 11 November 2011 02:34 (fourteen years ago)

Don't attack when he is black. (forksclovetofu), Friday, 11 November 2011 06:03 (fourteen years ago)

why is this shit not on the steam client news page? How come i haven't gotten an email? what the fuck valve?

Don't attack when he is black. (forksclovetofu), Friday, 11 November 2011 06:04 (fourteen years ago)

still, it's good thing that all this data was properly hashed, salted etc. didn't Sony just keep all their passwords in plain text?

V79, Friday, 11 November 2011 13:53 (fourteen years ago)

yeah, as infuriating as something like this is, it doesn't seem anywhere near as bad as what happened with the playstation, where sony kept all passwords and credit card info in plain text.

peter in montreal, Friday, 11 November 2011 14:06 (fourteen years ago)

just googled hashed/salted and somewhat less incensed.

Don't attack when he is black. (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 16 November 2011 19:42 (fourteen years ago)

haha. i was thinking something similar.. but i already have like 50 games on backlog, at least

Nhex, Wednesday, 16 November 2011 22:49 (fourteen years ago)

i got the Oblivion everything pack, game needs a bit of fleshing out and for a fiver it was too ridiculous to ignore.

Ridin' Skyrims (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 17 November 2011 09:20 (fourteen years ago)

Ha, love how everyone on the Skyrim thread is going "OMG OBLIVION WAS SHIT" at the same time people here (the same people?) are excited about just having bought it.

JimD, Thursday, 17 November 2011 09:37 (fourteen years ago)

don't think Skyrim will run on my puter tbh. i've had Oblivion for ages, just wanted the expansions. i love its world a lot but it's a lot less rich than Morrowind imo, and the thought that Bethesda are concentrating on the wrong things is comforting me in the absence of Skyrim

Ridin' Skyrims (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 17 November 2011 09:41 (fourteen years ago)

one month passes...

OKAY SO

1. Who doesn't have Cogs and wants it? It's fun as hell, one of the best-constructed casual games I've played in a long time. Highly recommended.
2. Who could use a 50% off coupon good for one (1) Valve title and somehow doesn't already have one from the winter sale thing? I've got two to give away.

muus lääv? :D muus dut :( (Telephone thing), Friday, 6 January 2012 05:44 (fourteen years ago)

There's also a cogs demo if any of you want to try it! It is pretty sweet.
