glitch: a wacky new mmorpg played in browser

just started with cooking too and yeah it seems like a lot of work

ok i am literally just learning the shortest stuff i can so i am rocketing up the cooking charts

better learning 5 is a pretty awes skill

i have been procrastinating doing Better Learning, as soon as i finish all the gardening/animal stuff that's my next pathway.
then teleportation. then finally mining/alchemy/tinkering.

i think if i time this right, i might learn everything its possible to learn w/o using an emblem of anybody today

nah wait herdkeeping still takes 1 hr 45 minutes

Okay, there is still brilliant stuff. I just found a big rock formation that looks like a dragon that other glitches have turned into a shrine and left cryptic notes hinting at how to reach the seemingly-inaccessible top. Love these guys.

where the fuck do I get eggs?

the community is just so fucking awesome, it makes the game much more fun to play.

eggs are on egg trees. they tend to be in dark places like caves.

man I have no idea what Im supposed to be doing at the beginning.. Ive been beefing up my animal husbandry stuff but I dont know what it is Im supposed to be striving for..?

it's more like jazz than your average game

a good chunk of the game is focused towards exploring and trying things to see what they can do; the quests also do a decent job of pointing you towards how various things can become more useful later on

career paths as i see them: cook, ebay nerd, dealer, miner, alchemist, teleporter, wandering do-gooder, homesteader, bartender, farmer, gasmaker (maybe?), warrior monk, engineer...

cooking is a crazy amount of work and skills, seems to be the opposite of mining which gives you faster, better rewards and cash but is largely the same drudgery over and over again for grinding... depends which style you'd rather lean towards

also regret putting so much into teleportation so early, though i use it all the time, it's not really as essential as say, gardening I. also the focus orb is kinda useless at higher levels, though i guess you need to go down that tree for the rook attacks which is neat

queueing up mining IV for the break - though mining is boring, the money lets you do a lot more in general

mining 4 is great, but the rewards have been tinkered w/ since the last beta, and it's much less lucrative

gasmaking appears to be the least lucrative, least useful of the trades and skills

despite having more cooking/farming/animal skills than mining, I spent much of yesterday mining, because I needed some emblems and the shrines seem to like rocks and gems much more than anything I can cook

(it is a bit of a bummer to put some new meal which contains a bunch of ingredients and is worth lots of energy in a shrine and have the giant be all "eh... 2 points")
