iPhone games (also Ipod Tooch/iPad games too)

Have only played the first level of Gesundheit but it looks like a winner so far.

Things I have gotten lately for ipad that rule:

i am about to erase tiny towers as it is now annoying

haha re. Pirates as I've been playing it a lot the couple of days & enjoying it tons but I'd never played it before now on any platform so it's all new to me. The touchscreen controls aren't great in the boat combat. I haven't noticed the loading times being a problem. I was pissed at my crew for mutinying after 14 months at sea.

IIRC the way to keep your crew from mutinying is (a) make sure you have enough food on hand and (b) go after Legendary Pirates and/or buried treasure on the reg. otherwise you've got to divide the plunder fairly regularly and giving up 6 months of gametime plus however long it takes to regain your stature is a stupid move when your character suddenly starts sucking at fencing once he hits 30.

come on people, help me out. i have loved:

You Tiny Tower guys need rehab.

- I played through NBA Jam's whole career mode; it's really easy but the controls are shockingly good
- Sword of Fargoal is a really good casual roguelike
- PathPix is Pic Pic's Drawing game flying solo and it's pretty damn great

can't get into Tiny Tower for some reason. it's weird since I like Nimblebit games a lot; they're usually so polished. but this just doesn't interest me.

Cover Orange kept me up until 4 am on saturday

tiny towers makes me feel cheap somehow, like i give and i give but get nothing back.

Been playing Amazing Breaker. Finished everything - time to go back for 3-stars. Really pretty levels, and fun gameplay.

Mega Mall Story will not have a significantly longer life than the others. Probably has more in common with Hot Springs Story than Game Dev.

Tried out a few different games this weekend. Bear in mind - I have never had a Facebook account, so I'm pretty unknowledgeable about these kinds of recent social casual gaming trends - but was kinda shocked to realize that all of these games (the ones i tried on Google+), Glitch, and Tiny Tower, use these real-time clock mechanisms to force people to keep playing, it's kind of horrifying. I know I know welcome me to several years ago

Mega Mall Story is way too easy. The last third of the game was just money piling up. It felt like a chore to get through it. Too bad, because it's definitely fun in the early part.

I finished Anomaly Warzone Earth tonight, best iPhone game I've played in ages. Cute concept (it's a tower defence game only you're the attackers instead of the defenders) but then they actually built a really tight game on the back of that idea, and basically ended up with an old-school RTS, tweaked just enough so that it actually works well on a small touchscreen.

I liked it too (played on iPad), but it was too short!

I've now played 1000 Heroz on 75 consecutive days, with no signs of letting up anytime soon.

True, but a) replaying levels is pretty fun, b) it's chillingo so I'm expecting level-pack updates, and c) c'mon, it's £1.49! (xp)

tiny wings makes me hate myself

same. i have been trying to maintain fever mode throughout island 4 for almost 2 months now. it's fucking ridiculous. i try EVERY DAY. when the earthquake happened and i was on the toilet at work, i was setting myself up for an island 4 run.

that one is really easy -- you don't need fever from 1 through 4. just get it right before 4 and keep it until the end of 4

Um, have you noticed a) teeny baby hills at the end of Is. 3 b) stupid steep hills throughout Is. 4 that are impossible to jump on?

On what planet is that one "really easy"

i know! and in fact, i've been trying for so long that i can now get a fever going at the end of 3 and carry it into 4 about 75% of the time. but that first stupid hill on island 4 is so steep that i can only get it about once every 5-6 times, and then i get so happy and nervous that i inevitably ruin everything within a few drinks.

Gah gah I played tiny wings this morning for the 1st time in a long time and got frustrated cause it kept skipping throwing everything off.

haha the worst is when you lose network coverage and IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR GAME it pops up an alert about it, freezing the game behind the alert and making you decline or accept some bullshit

i seriously hate tiny wings a lot
