i hate myself for this fact, but ever since the Tiny Wings update came out that included the "Reach Island 9" goal, I've been attempting it every day for fucking months, GOD DAMMIT fuuuuu

3 times, I have been cruising up the final hill of Island 8, just as night falls. i feel like kevin costner in that part of tin cup where he's trying to reach the green from an absurd distance but keeps landing in the water, over and over, as his chances of winning the championship disintegrate. Fuck, now i hate myself for making a tin cup reference AND for not being consistent with my capitalization, fuck!

At 31 floors in Tiny Tower - need to transition this into a once a day game vs. three times an hour as it is currently. Saving up for new floors is getting to be a real grind, but I really want to see the other types of shops and crap. This game is evil.
― Nhex, Tuesday, 26 July 2011 04:14 (fourteen years ago)
Glitch trumped tiny towers for me ultimately

It is amazing how many people fall prey to the freemium model when they could just pay an extra few dollars at the outset and get a good game with no additional costs.
― polyphonic, Wednesday, 27 July 2011 17:27 (fourteen years ago)
it's amazing to me that microtransactions are a successful model. i've never bought something in a game for real money and i can't imagine ever feeling compelled to do so.
― Mordy, Wednesday, 27 July 2011 17:33 (fourteen years ago)
"YOUR TOWER HAS THE BEST ELEVATOR!"

― I dream of vodka sandwich (jjjusten), Wednesday, 27 July 2011 17:40 (fourteen years ago)

― polyphonic, Wednesday, 27 July 2011 17:43 (fourteen years ago)

― Mordy, Wednesday, 27 July 2011 17:44 (fourteen years ago)

― I dream of vodka sandwich (jjjusten), Wednesday, 27 July 2011 17:45 (fourteen years ago)

― generous doler out of lollies (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 27 July 2011 17:46 (fourteen years ago)

― I dream of vodka sandwich (jjjusten), Wednesday, 27 July 2011 17:54 (fourteen years ago)
yeah, 125 is the last best elevator
― Nhex, Wednesday, 27 July 2011 20:32 (fourteen years ago)
at this point i'm saving up the bucks for the bank transaction to get coins, though the sick part is even for 100 tower bucks, that's like enough to buy a single floor at this point
― Nhex, Wednesday, 27 July 2011 20:33 (fourteen years ago)
(at this point)
― Nhex, Wednesday, 27 July 2011 20:35 (fourteen years ago)
xp I've bought things in 100 Rogues and Solomon's Keep, but there you're buying new character roles and spells, not some new hat or something with very little effect on the game.

― generous doler out of lollies (forksclovetofu), Saturday, 30 July 2011 01:10 (fourteen years ago)
really stupid question:
i just bought a a game (Hard Lines) on iTunes store (normally i just do it using the app store using my phone, but Hard Lines was too large, and i'm not in an area with good wireless reception.
so now it's in iTunes, but not in my phone. to put it on my phone, it appears that i have to Sync my apps. but when i do that, it erases dozens of apps that i've bought previously using the App Store - the just disappear. to get them back, i can revert to the way things were before I Synced, but then the game is still on my computer and not on my phone.
am i doing something wrong?

Groove coaster is an awesome iPad rhythm game.
― Jeff, Sunday, 31 July 2011 22:02 (fourteen years ago)
ah, finally figured it out: i had to right click on the device on the left side panel of iTunes and choose "transfer purchases".
― future events are now current events (Z S), Sunday, 31 July 2011 22:10 (fourteen years ago)

Groove Coaster is awesome.
Match Box is fun.
Dark Nebula seems pretty good so far.
If you like Trainyard you may like Aqueduct 101.

― Nhex, Monday, 8 August 2011 15:44 (fourteen years ago)
okay, the touchscreen controls for the iPad version of Pirates can officially suck it. ditto for the relentless loading times.

― polyphonic, Monday, 8 August 2011 17:52 (fourteen years ago)
Things I have gotten lately for ipad that rule:
gesundheit - 1.99zen bound 2 - 1.99dice soccer - free mahjong towers - freeASP - freegroove coaster - 99 centspuzzle agent - 99 centsamazing breaker - 99 centswooords - 99 centstotal price - 8 bucks
i am about to erase tiny towers as it is now annoying
― I'm a nerd and nerdy things happened (forksclovetofu), Monday, 8 August 2011 18:07 (fourteen years ago)
amazing breaker is fucking addictive and awesome btw
― I'm a nerd and nerdy things happened (forksclovetofu), Monday, 8 August 2011 18:09 (fourteen years ago)
haha re. Pirates as I've been playing it a lot the couple of days & enjoying it tons but I'd never played it before now on any platform so it's all new to me. The touchscreen controls aren't great in the boat combat. I haven't noticed the loading times being a problem. I was pissed at my crew for mutinying after 14 months at sea.
― Euler, Monday, 8 August 2011 19:41 (fourteen years ago)
IIRC the way to keep your crew from mutinying is (a) make sure you have enough food on hand and (b) go after Legendary Pirates and/or buried treasure on the reg. otherwise you've got to divide the plunder fairly regularly and giving up 6 months of gametime plus however long it takes to regain your stature is a stupid move when your character suddenly starts sucking at fencing once he hits 30.

― Dark Noises from the Eurozone (Tracer Hand), Friday, 12 August 2011 16:36 (fourteen years ago)
You Tiny Tower guys need rehab.
― Jeff, Friday, 12 August 2011 16:36 (fourteen years ago)
- I played through NBA Jam's whole career mode; it's really easy but the controls are shockingly good- Sword of Fargoal is a really good casual roguelike- PathPix is Pic Pic's Drawing game flying solo and it's pretty damn great
can't get into Tiny Tower for some reason. it's weird since I like Nimblebit games a lot; they're usually so polished. but this just doesn't interest me.
