glitch: a wacky new mmorpg played in browser

mordy, some of the higher level skills take 7 - 12 days to learn, and for a not-very-appreciable gain (say in jellisac handling, you get 3-5 more pieces/harest) it's a lot of commitment for a skill you're not going to use often/at all. i mean, the skill learning happens in the background so presumably given enough time you will learn everything but at least in early stages of the game specialization is key

i'm trying to become an alchemist but other than that i've mostly been running around squeezing chickens and drinking hooch. feel like i don't want to do all the advanced stuff now if they're just about to shut it down again. i'm in g towers 780 btw!

i am trying to become a king of bureaucrats but to get level 3 i have to get an emblem of lem which seems like a pain in the ass

also considering that level 2 got me a general building permit that i have no idea how to use its a little why bother tbh

Yeah, I liked the idea of becoming a bureaucrat but I have no clue as what to do with level 2. I found an emblem of something else but it seems like if I keep it I can get mood and XP bonuses every day, and it only unlocks Refining II, which I don't really need yet.

so this is an obv realization but you can dramatically increase learning speeds by donating high-value items to the god of w/e skill yr learning. i just halved the learning time for light green thumb 2 by giving over an emotional bear

i think each god's emblem coincides with a skill unlock? i'm just now starting to get the hang of making butterfly cheese

I'm still in. Also just died for the first time and had to squish grapes to get out of hell.

I feel like I burnt out on this already. Like, first session I loved it and played until 3am. Then I started it up again the next day and I dunno, I suddenly found I didn't care at all about levelling up any further or learning anything new, or even exploring anywhere (because all those areas are pretty similar anyway). I guess the fact I know it's going to get a reboot before the game proper starts might be what killed it for me, cos the early stuff's all fun, but probably not fun enough to warrant a second play through.

I'm going to wait until it launches to give it a lengthy trial. I played for about two hours but it was fun enough.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm going to want to relearn everything from scratch once it gets wiped. Am having fun with it now, though.

By the way, the voice of God is currently telling me there's only an hour left in this test run, so if you want to get in there and fiddle with anything, do it now.

some skills take like 12 hours to learn so the game would be unplayable if this wasn't the case tho

aw my first total day off in months and this is off is a big sadface

this was pretty cool - great writing and atmosphere as said, but essentially it is still a time and soul-sucking MMO. i don't know if I'll come back

Sadface that queue-jumping is closed now my big work project is more or less done and dusted. I tried to be virtuous and look where it got me! If anyone hears of it opening back up please let me know.
