It is unbelievable how many times he says "situation" in this thing, geez.

― johnny crunch, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 18:41 (fourteen years ago)
I watched this anime called "Dead Leaves" that is 30% terrible and 70% amazing. Wish it had been in Japanese instead of dubbed.
― polyphonic, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 19:41 (fourteen years ago)
Also a jellybean doc!
― loads of personality, loved to chase chickens (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 26 October 2011 22:51 (fourteen years ago)

Crawlspace seconded. It's sleazy and terrible and absolutely amazing, especially Klaus Kinski's endless collection of Cosby sweaters.

Senna was really good I thought. Like one of the good episodes of 30 for 30, e.g. The Two Escobars.
― polyphonic, Monday, 9 January 2012 18:14 (fourteen years ago)
is this the thread to discuss netflix UK?
― cozen, Monday, 9 January 2012 18:18 (fourteen years ago)
there's like four of these
― Thug Luftwaffle (forksclovetofu), Monday, 9 January 2012 20:59 (fourteen years ago)
senna was good, but im not that knowledgeable about f1. loved the 80s footage of ppl driving smooth lines through the tracks and then seeing senna going round with the car skittering everywhere because he could get THAT close to completely out of control.
― dead precedents politics as usual (Hunt3r), Monday, 9 January 2012 21:16 (fourteen years ago)
at least that's how it looked to me
Yeah I also don't know shit about F1 so I don't know how accurate that was, but he sure did seem to drive in a very loose way, especially when it rained.
― polyphonic, Monday, 9 January 2012 21:39 (fourteen years ago)
the 84 sequence when he went from waay back to second in the rain was great.

the "who was your greatest real or imagined opponent" was rosebud-y but pretty effective

Remy are you familiar with my obsession with the regular wife swap? I am so on this.
Also thanks for the other recs. Didn't see this until just now!

xp i agree abt senna, also know v little abt formula 1, but there is SO MUCH great footage & he himself seems actually humble & likeable & makes the ensuing, known end that much more impactful/dramatic/classically tragic that i sorta feel like the doc is such a slam dunk, im more thankful it wasnt somehow horribly f'd up than thinking it is partic amazing
― johnny crunch, Wednesday, 11 January 2012 23:07 (fourteen years ago)
Senna was my favorite movie of the last year.
― EZ Snappin, Wednesday, 11 January 2012 23:28 (fourteen years ago)

A question, not a recommendation: is there a site with a film title database which lays out current streaming options for each film? That would be a really handy site.

I've seen something like that before. Can't recall what it was though. Will look.

How to Survive a Plague just got added.
On a lighter note:
...beginning on March 30 the streaming service lands all past seasons of Cartoon Network‘s Adventure Time, Ben 10, Regular Show, and Johnny Bravo, as well as Warner Bros Animation’s Green Lantern. It also will have Adult Swim shows Robot Chicken and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sony Pictures Television’s The Boondocks and Warner Bros Television’s Studio 2.0′s Childrens Hospital.
― Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 15 January 2013 15:31 (thirteen years ago)
Yes! I can finally catch up on Adventure Time and Regular Show!

I can't vouch for it yet, but there's no way I'm not going to watch the newly added Nazis from the Moon Finish production Iron Sky:

Watching Roy Orbison: Black & White Night before it expires. Lots of musical guest stars in the band that maybe you can take or leave but more importantly he's got Elvis's Vegas-era backing band.
