― Don't start the chain you know? (forksclovetofu), Saturday, 18 June 2011 16:26 (fifteen years ago)
moxie is nice but replay value seems low since once you set some high scores it's a hassle to top them. The strategy of it's nice, though!

Superbrothers Sword and Sorcery is $2 on ipad today only and i've been wanting to try it so i'm buying now.
I got bumpy road last night; it's fun and beautiful but kinda limited playability? Maybe i need more practice.
― Don't start the chain you know? (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 21 June 2011 16:40 (fifteen years ago)
Bumpy Road is relaxing, super relaxing. Just the right amount of motion, and gathering the pieces is satisfying... the little plink sound. I just really enjoy it even if it's not super deep.

― brie on crüt (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 30 June 2011 04:35 (fifteen years ago)
i like risk type world conquest games so far 'risk' and 'strategery' are p good but im tired of both, any suggests
― ice cr?m, Thursday, 30 June 2011 20:18 (fifteen years ago)
conquest and lux were both unplayable
― ice cr?m, Thursday, 30 June 2011 20:24 (fifteen years ago)
Haven't played any of these, but might be worth looking into:
SlayEuropean War 2World Conquerer 1945Dominion
I think I played a free flash version of Dominion and it was decent enough.
― polyphonic, Thursday, 30 June 2011 20:44 (fifteen years ago)
cool thx
― ice cr?m, Thursday, 30 June 2011 20:45 (fifteen years ago)
dominion...my roommate plays the real life, non-phone version fo that. that's the card based game, right? it's pretty fun, but it's a lot closer to magic: the gathering than games like Risk or Civilization
― Z S, Thursday, 30 June 2011 20:50 (fifteen years ago)
i got settlers of catan which is a lil diff but in the same neighborhood but damn does that game have sooo many rules wtf
― ice cr?m, Thursday, 30 June 2011 20:52 (fifteen years ago)
do you have carcassonne?
― polyphonic, Thursday, 30 June 2011 20:54 (fifteen years ago)
I don't think Dominion is like the card game at all.

― XBOX BING GOATSE (jamescobo), Thursday, 30 June 2011 22:50 (fifteen years ago)
Yeah, it's $1.99
― polyphonic, Thursday, 30 June 2011 22:55 (fifteen years ago)
is carcassone worth plodding through the tutorial for? I've never played the board game so have basically nfi what is going on
― stet, Friday, 1 July 2011 11:31 (fifteen years ago)
zenbound 2 is pretty damn neat and only a buckalso SFIV Volt which is just SFIV with online play is also just a buck and they're increasing the price by a buck every day until it's 8, so get it now if you want it
― Don't start the chain you know? (forksclovetofu), Friday, 1 July 2011 16:13 (fifteen years ago)
Wait so if I already have SF IV and I don't give two shits abt online play, there's no perks?
― brie on crüt (Stevie D(eux)), Friday, 1 July 2011 16:20 (fifteen years ago)
is carcassone worth plodding through the tutorial for?
There aren't very many variables to think about but there is a fair bit of strategy to consider. You get points by controlling a road, city, cloister, or farming area, which you achieve by placing a game piece on the board. Your opponent may try to connect her controlled assets to yours. You can't place a game piece if someone has already done so on a contiguous road, city, etc.
― polyphonic, Friday, 1 July 2011 16:47 (fifteen years ago)
stevie i dunno for sure but that SEEMS right? I think that's why it's hella cheap and then gonna get more expensive: it's like an expansion for the hardcore and then they'll phase out sf iv entirely.

i think they added new characters too, and i'm guessing that volt will get all of those upcoming updates now. Also, Volt requires iOS 4 and up, so the game probably takes advantage of the hardware better.

― cozen, Saturday, 2 July 2011 07:09 (fifteen years ago)
Had a go of coin drop this morning. Really enjoyed the space level. Then the jungle level kicked off and... Rescue the girl coins? Piss off, seriously, piss all the way off. Agh.

Sword sorcery ep is pretty great! Like others said, it's not so much of a "game" but it's lovely to walk around the world. The music when you awaken the dark lord of evil (or whatever the tall devil dude is called) is fucking awesome.

New Kairosoft games are out!
― Crazed Mister Handy (kingfish), Monday, 4 July 2011 06:03 (fifteen years ago)
bought starfront, dead space, dungeon hunter ii, scrabble hd, risk hd, clue secrets and spies and nba jam for a buck apiece.
― ain't nuthin but a chicken waaaang (forksclovetofu), Monday, 4 July 2011 20:23 (fifteen years ago)
and pocket god. i gotta say the 99cent model makes impulse buying difficult to stop.
― ain't nuthin but a chicken waaaang (forksclovetofu), Monday, 4 July 2011 20:26 (fifteen years ago)
It's wonderful. Compared to how much these games would cost on a console. And I get just as much enjoyment out of them.

what are the best kairosoft games? i don't anything about them. and forks, once you're done with those i'd be happy to get some recommendations! i'll probably be finishing up swords and sorcery ep soon and i'm looking for a follow-up game.

Get Game Dev Story first.
― polyphonic, Monday, 4 July 2011 21:18 (fifteen years ago)
oh shit, kairosoft made game dev story? i've definitely already played that (voted it #1 in coint and plick, i think, or a close second)
Pocket Academy, high school simulator!
― Z S, Monday, 4 July 2011 21:22 (fifteen years ago)
i played through game dev story obsessively like twice and then had this moment of clarity and deleted it immediately with zero remorse
― g++ (gbx), Monday, 4 July 2011 21:25 (fifteen years ago)
I couldn't figure out how to get started on Pocket Academy. Hot Springs Story was easier for me to get a hang of.
