ha im going to get yelled at for this by some of the dudes around here but thats because gran turismo is one of the most boring awful nongames ever. did you ever try any of the burnout games? car wrecks are key imo.

like hardcore gt dudes remind me of the guys that played lots of flight simulators back in the day - why r u perfecting a really accurate not having fun simulator?

I voted for Puzzle Agent and I must admit I may be one of the only people alive on ILG who has never played any of the Professor Layton games, but I've never had a DS/Wii. So if it really is a shameless ripoff, I wouldn't know, but it was fun. I thought of it as a funnier, animated version of the Usborne spy puzzle adventure books I remember being just too old for as a kid.

Gran Turismo is sort of intentionally boring. You need an arcade-style game I bet.

ive never played any of the layton stuff either, and im always kinda shocked they never port that series to iphone, seems kinda no brainery.

(also to dudes that are hulking up to nerd rage me on my gt takedown - i also totally understand that part of the reason i dont like it is because i am shit at it, and i dont like sims pretty much ever, so im glad you all can get down with it, i just prefer jumps and explosions and hueg armored semis throwing explosive barrels at my car while i drive at a bazillion miles an hour down one of those weird cali spillways, which of course, split/second lets me do)

also do normal peeps actually do those 8 hour endurance races in gran turismo, or just my crazy ass alkie former roommate? because leaving for work in the morning and then coming home afterwards and realizing hes been sitting in the same chair drinking a bottle of sailor jerrys rum and doing THE SAME EXACT RACE for like 7 hours was uh unsettling to me

When I was a kid I bought a "Space Shuttle" simulator for the ZX Spectrum, because space is rad and awesome etc, and was totally not impressed to discover the manual was several small-print pages of technical-sounding descriptions of 100 different keyboard commands, and that the gameplay was effectively staring at a blank view portal for 6 hours while some numbers changed slightly underneath

my dad, however, actually took on the challenge, making me sad that I could not play inane brightly-coloured platform games that weekend

so that was pretty much the end of me and simulators (excluding god sims/simcity type stuff, which I am still a sucker for, though I do keep buying them and then going "this is actually quite boring now I don't have the patience of a teenager on a PC which only has 1 game installed")

Chrisv2010: Black Ops has toned down the sniping to the point that there are no more of those quick scoping shitheads. A sniper rifle needs to be used like a sniper rifle.

Polyphonic: It's very easy to humiliate yourself playing this, and the track list sometimes leaves a bit to be desired, but this is a very well-made Kinect game that is a blast to play or to watch. This is the ultimate girlfriend game for a large segment of girlfriends.
