― larry buttz (Z S), Thursday, 24 March 2011 11:45 (fifteen years ago)
I still haven't gotten 175k. Totally given up.
― Jeff, Thursday, 24 March 2011 11:58 (fifteen years ago)
This game lasted all of two hours on my iphone, precisely the sort of time-wasting nonsense I dont need around atm. btw I am posting this from my kindle for lolz.

Er, Angry Birds Rio is out.
― JimD, Thursday, 24 March 2011 12:12 (fifteen years ago)
Angry birds has lost me. I just gave up halfway through one of the seasons ones. Not sure why. It was just time.
― Jeff, Thursday, 24 March 2011 12:14 (fifteen years ago)
It could be that you're just not into the genre of flying bird gravity games as much as you used to be
― larry buttz (Z S), Thursday, 24 March 2011 12:17 (fifteen years ago)
I wish it'd fucking lose me. xp
― JimD, Thursday, 24 March 2011 12:17 (fifteen years ago)

I've grabbed Secret of Mana. What's Song Summoner?
― JimD, Thursday, 24 March 2011 17:05 (fifteen years ago)
Question on all of these RPGs: how easy is it to "quicksave" or "quickload"? In other words, how quickly can I hop in and out of gameplay?
― larry buttz (Z S), Thursday, 24 March 2011 17:15 (fifteen years ago)
IIRC all of the ones I've played have been "save whenever the fuck you want" and not that horrible "keep playing, you'll probably find a save point in the next 45 minutes!!!!" types
― mink della reese (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 24 March 2011 17:17 (fifteen years ago)
amidst the RPG madness to which I am subscribing fully I wanna put in another word for Trainyard, which has become the perfect "bathroom" game for me (if you don't know, now you know): on the bonus boards now & they're tricky! but each has been ultimately doable so far after a few tries.
have there been any other good iOS puzzlers recently?
― Euler, Thursday, 24 March 2011 17:25 (fifteen years ago)
Yeah, I have hopes of maybe one day finding a game as fucking awesome as Trainyard. I've sort of given up on it though bcz a recent iOS update wiped out some of my progress and I refuse to re-do the levels.
― mink della reese (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 24 March 2011 17:51 (fifteen years ago)
huh, you know what, that free one on the above sale list, 'sliding hero'?..... actually kinda good
it's kind of an rts but then you also slide around your entire group of fighters and healers etc. by tilting the phone
and you're on these interesting looking isometric chessboard levels with monsters and dungeon-esque rooms
worth checking out if any of that intrigues you, i suppose
― sleepingbag, Friday, 25 March 2011 09:58 (fifteen years ago)
im thinkin about grabbing ff3 and secret of mana but do the controls etc work well on ipad?
― diamonddave85, Friday, 25 March 2011 14:43 (fifteen years ago)

― mink della reese (Stevie D(eux)), Saturday, 26 March 2011 22:32 (fifteen years ago)
playing FF I & loving it of course but wtf my totally charged battery died after 1.5 hrs, is this normal?
― Euler, Saturday, 26 March 2011 22:33 (fifteen years ago)
Of playing it straight? That doesn't surprise me.
― mink della reese (Stevie D(eux)), Saturday, 26 March 2011 22:36 (fifteen years ago)
yeah this was playing it straight---when I was mainlining Civ Rev I was getting 4 hrs & thinking uggh this is ridiculous but I guess that was good? alas; I'm the type who gets antsy about the # of charges my batteries will sustain over their lifetime so I hate big drainers but I should just get over it.
― Euler, Saturday, 26 March 2011 22:38 (fifteen years ago)
why is there no HD football manager WHY
― frogbsclovetofu (cozen), Sunday, 27 March 2011 00:06 (fifteen years ago)

― Crazed Mister Handy (kingfish), Wednesday, 20 April 2011 22:43 (fifteen years ago)
Chaos Rings is currently p much the indisputable best of the lotInfinity Blade is also pretty greatZenonaia is nice if you get boners for 16bit Zelda games
― ToeJam & Lewis (Stevie D(eux)), Wednesday, 20 April 2011 23:06 (fifteen years ago)
Infinity Blade is not reeeeeeeally an RPG though. You only level up by running through the same six rooms again and again and again and again, bashing up the same handful of monsters ad infinitum.
― it always seems to have dick smith in it (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 20 April 2011 23:45 (fifteen years ago)

Wow, very nearly bought this until I saw that it only does US English. Fuck that.

(if anyone here can report otherwise please do)

Across Age DX is worth the 0.99 I paid for it. Neat little 16-bit action rpg.
― Crazed Mister Handy (kingfish), Friday, 22 April 2011 14:45 (fifteen years ago)
Why are there three versions of that game?
