I really hate having to go and look up what the points are worth every time I buy a game. Same goes with the Wii shop.

def advantage of PSN

الله basedأكبر (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 15 February 2011 20:08 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, and the reason I've purchased so much from it (despite only having a PSP until 3-4 months ago).

BG&E is tempting but I'm pretty sure I'd just end up stuck at the same part I got stuck at when I played it years ago. I'm not very good at stealth. Might sit out the re-release and hope the sequel isn't just an elaborate joke.

MY FRIENDS,

http://www.barrylutz.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/mccaintop.gif

as you know, i am on the cutting edge of xbox games. as such, it recently came to my attention that a game known as "CASTLE CRASHERS" is really fun. i have purchased the game with my dollars and now i am a level green guy.

http://www.barrylutz.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/mccainmiddle.gif

DOES ANYONE IN THIS BITCH STILL PLAY CASTLE CRASHERS

http://www.barrylutz.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/mccainbottom.gif

if so, i would like to play sometime. i just played with a few strangers who, by the sound of the things they were yelling into their headsets, appeared to be 6 to 8 years old. even then, it was a shitload of fun, and we busted through about 15 levels together. it was awesome. but it would be even more awesome to play with ilx friendz. MY FRIENDS

"You Don't Know Jack" has not aged well. I sort of regret even Gamefly'ing it.

reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 17:51 (fifteen years ago)

really? reviews have been ecstatic.

bang-proof-bling-mans (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 20:27 (fifteen years ago)

Reviews for the pc version are less ecstatic because it only supports up to 2 players and there is no online multilayer.

I've played maybe 12 episodes now. It's actually 10 questions and then a Jack Attack (correction from what I posted upthread).

My only problems with the game are all graphic related:
a) The intros are different for each number 1-10 but they repeat with each episode.
b) There is a horizontal line glitch at the bottom of the screen when the chicken presents the "wrong answer of the game" (at least on my tvs and 360 version of the game. maybe the resolution is set wrong? 1080p vs. 1080i or something)
c) It can be hard to read the answers during the 5 seconds after someone uses a screw on you because of yellow on yellow and red
http://www.buzzfocus.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/jack-pic.jpg

I like that the game is about 13-14 hours of gameplay. The episodes are a good length. Cookie is the same as ever. And like I said upthread: the game is only $30 (and there is DLC).

However, I have less desire to listen to the radio commercials after I win - only because I rather see the commercials at this point.

CaptainLorax, Tuesday, 1 March 2011 20:56 (fifteen years ago)

I dunno, I would just rather play 1 vs. 100 or Buzz!

I did find myself wondering how Watson would fare though.

reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 21:32 (fifteen years ago)

i miss 1 v 100

bang-proof-bling-mans (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 21:37 (fifteen years ago)

I rather play 1 vs. 100 irl... as a game I don't know

CaptainLorax, Tuesday, 1 March 2011 21:47 (fifteen years ago)

Buzz is dead too btw - http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-02-24-buzz-ps3-what-went-wrong

i dl'ed beyond good & evil, looking forward to it but prob won't have time for a few weeks at least.

Rock Band 3 is having a strange effect on my 360 play patterns these days. I'm just outside the top 400 on the pro keys leaderboard now, and so whenever I turn the 360 on I feel hugely guilty if I play anything else, because I should be in there practising harder instead. Which means that ends up being all I do.

Just did the demo for BG&E and the camera makes so ill that I don't think I can do it :(

Digging torchlight but man I really wish it wasn't so cartoony looking, prob my most hated current game art direction trend atm

it's the penny arcade influence sad to say

Nhex, Wednesday, 16 March 2011 11:44 (fifteen years ago)

Don't see any prima facie reason why there shouldn't be a market for this - a tutorial type app for musicians that they can use their own instruments with is v different to a game for gamers that requires new expensive peripherals.

Full House Poker is pretty solid for a $10 game! No reason to buy it if you don't enjoy playing poker, but if you do ...

reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Wednesday, 30 March 2011 17:35 (fifteen years ago)

is there gonna be more content in the xbla clash of heroes? i will probably buy/play it again anyway but i would lvoe for there to be more stuff in it this time

Postmodern Bourbon Development (Will M.), Thursday, 31 March 2011 04:38 (fifteen years ago)

time critical question - bringing back a game today to exchange for esomething else used and im stumped as to what to get - going back and forth between singularity and metro 2033 - any votes (or suggestions for other hot shit 360 stuff that might be in the $30 range used)?

broke my o_O face o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 20:22 (fifteen years ago)

Split / Second? maybe that's cheaper now

Euler, Thursday, 7 April 2011 01:30 (fifteen years ago)

bought singularity.

so any votes as to whether split/second or blur is better?

broke my o_O face o_O (jjjusten), Thursday, 7 April 2011 01:37 (fifteen years ago)

haha to be clear i bought singularity before the split second rec, i didnt just completely ignore yer vote

broke my o_O face o_O (jjjusten), Thursday, 7 April 2011 01:38 (fifteen years ago)

I haven't played Blur yet but Split / Second is awwwwsome, a proper sequel to Burnout 3 but with MORE MASSIVE EXPLOSIONS, like, you trigger air traffic control towers to explode and fall down on the track, and make cranes spin around & drop trucks on your enemies. It's ludicrous---and with split screen local multiplay which is fab b/c you can drop trucks on your friends & laugh fiendishly & yes it is great

Euler, Thursday, 7 April 2011 01:42 (fifteen years ago)

oh shit then i prob made the wrong choice

broke my o_O face o_O (jjjusten), Thursday, 7 April 2011 01:43 (fifteen years ago)

it'll place high-ishly I think on the ILG end of 2010 poll, I think? I can't be the only one who got it (would like to try Blur too)

Euler, Thursday, 7 April 2011 01:45 (fifteen years ago)

love splt/second, and euler is totally right - its the burnout sequel that never was, and more fun (to me) that paradise city

Republicans voiced concern about young pages hearing the word uterus (stevie), Thursday, 7 April 2011 07:20 (fifteen years ago)

ok as a dude that loves burnout and a dude that is finding singularity woefully FPS sameish and boring, pretty sure ill be trading this in for split/second. u peeps best not be lying :)

broke my o_O face o_O (jjjusten), Tuesday, 12 April 2011 07:39 (fifteen years ago)

oh man thx u guys, split/second fucking owns

broke my o_O face o_O (jjjusten), Thursday, 14 April 2011 16:18 (fifteen years ago)

haha yes. such a dumb guilty pleasure, but a pleasure nonetheless. i must buy blur once its dirt cheap too.

Republicans voiced concern about young pages hearing the word uterus (stevie), Thursday, 14 April 2011 18:25 (fifteen years ago)

two weeks pass...

so this huluplus service is pretty lame, even for the free trial week huh

blbllbllllllrlrrghgghhh (jjjusten), Wednesday, 4 May 2011 21:44 (fifteen years ago)

dunno yankee

why don't xbox let you have iplayer/4od or... I dunno, APPS? on your dashboard?

smh (cozen), Wednesday, 4 May 2011 21:46 (fifteen years ago)

man trust me you arent missing anything wrt to huluplus, u filthy imperialist

blbllbllllllrlrrghgghhh (jjjusten), Wednesday, 4 May 2011 21:49 (fifteen years ago)

does seem odd that 4/5 years into the life of the console, and 3 years since the launch of the app store, with all the infrastructure in place... they still don't let you download ~apps~ to the console other than some lameo facebook/twitter/last.fm apps.

iplayer would be glorious

smh (cozen), Wednesday, 4 May 2011 21:51 (fifteen years ago)

I dl'ed the hulu thing, but it wanted me to register & I was like, can't you just use my stupid xbla registration? plus, isn't it just a way to watch tv shows? I dunno, the layout seemed fine to me, about the same as the espn3 one. I didn't really check what shows it had b/c I don't know anything about tv, but I was curious to see what it was. dunno why they're charging $8 a month for it with advertising! can't imagine it'll be a big hit at that cost.

Euler, Wednesday, 4 May 2011 22:00 (fifteen years ago)

Apparently the thing with iplayer is that MS won't give anything at all to non-gold members, but the BBC aren't allowed to have a UK version of iplayer that's stuck behind a paywall.

JimD, Wednesday, 4 May 2011 22:56 (fifteen years ago)

I hit up a friend who gave me his hulu plu login for my ipad, it's worth it for the criterion
