The light on the front started flapping about as though the console thought it were on its side. I tilted it slightly to see what would happen and it gouged a giant fucking canyon in my Bioshock 2 disc.

That sucks. I lost Gears of War 1 because of a little kid or a dog or a little kid swinging a dog around hit my 360. Fortunately, that game was only $10 used upon buying it again years later.

You Don't Know Jack comes out today for wii, 360 and ps3. I believe that the 360 and ps3 version have a few more episodes than the wii version and you can play it live with those ones (I don't think you can with the wii version but I'll check when I'm at the store). Also, there is going to be downloadable content. So I think I'll get the 360 version even though I don't have Live right now. The only review I've found for this game, so far, says that it is good.

Have the fundamentals of it changed over the last decade? I mean, the last one I playedwas early 2000s - is it any different now?

It's pretty good so far. I've only played 1 episode (9 questions and a Jack Attack). There is 73 episodes. They brought back the old gameshow host, Cookie, the questions are as flashy looking as ever. The screws are still there. It's basically the same game but updated for our decade. And I am proud to say that I got a kickass score for Episode 1.

One cool thing about the Dis or Dat round was that the 2nd player can rack up points if the player doing that round rings in wrong and you ring in right (it's usually a strictly one player thing)

Bioshock 2 unfixable, bought the fucken thing again.

BG&E is tempting but I'm pretty sure I'd just end up stuck at the same part I got stuck at when I played it years ago. I'm not very good at stealth. Might sit out the re-release and hope the sequel isn't just an elaborate joke.

if so, i would like to play sometime. i just played with a few strangers who, by the sound of the things they were yelling into their headsets, appeared to be 6 to 8 years old. even then, it was a shitload of fun, and we busted through about 15 levels together. it was awesome. but it would be even more awesome to play with ilx friendz. MY FRIENDS

"You Don't Know Jack" has not aged well. I sort of regret even Gamefly'ing it.

Reviews for the pc version are less ecstatic because it only supports up to 2 players and there is no online multilayer.

I've played maybe 12 episodes now. It's actually 10 questions and then a Jack Attack (correction from what I posted upthread).

My only problems with the game are all graphic related:
a) The intros are different for each number 1-10 but they repeat with each episode.
b) There is a horizontal line glitch at the bottom of the screen when the chicken presents the "wrong answer of the game" (at least on my tvs and 360 version of the game. maybe the resolution is set wrong? 1080p vs. 1080i or something)
c) It can be hard to read the answers during the 5 seconds after someone uses a screw on you because of yellow on yellow and red

I like that the game is about 13-14 hours of gameplay. The episodes are a good length. Cookie is the same as ever. And like I said upthread: the game is only $30 (and there is DLC).

However, I have less desire to listen to the radio commercials after I win - only because I rather see the commercials at this point.

I dunno, I would just rather play 1 vs. 100 or Buzz!

I did find myself wondering how Watson would fare though.

i dl'ed beyond good & evil, looking forward to it but prob won't have time for a few weeks at least.

Rock Band 3 is having a strange effect on my 360 play patterns these days. I'm just outside the top 400 on the pro keys leaderboard now, and so whenever I turn the 360 on I feel hugely guilty if I play anything else, because I should be in there practising harder instead. Which means that ends up being all I do.

Don't see any prima facie reason why there shouldn't be a market for this - a tutorial type app for musicians that they can use their own instruments with is v different to a game for gamers that requires new expensive peripherals.
