by the makers of Castle Crashers, Super Soviet Missiel Mastar is now a free game for the iPhone (8275km is my high score)
― Mordy, Tuesday, 8 February 2011 18:53 (fifteen years ago)
Now 17799km!

Super Soviet Missiel Mastar was a free hidden game in Alien Hominid if I recall correctly.

― zappi, Thursday, 10 February 2011 15:40 (fifteen years ago)
oh yeh, link http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/09/sega-capcom-and-namco-go-iphone-sale-crazy/any recommendations ie which will not control like ass?
― zappi, Thursday, 10 February 2011 15:41 (fifteen years ago)
If you don't like virtual controllers then there's not much to like there. Puzzle Quest and Noby Noby are both built for the touch screen I think.
― polyphonic, Thursday, 10 February 2011 18:32 (fifteen years ago)
wait isnt phoenix wright supposed to be awesome?
― O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Thursday, 10 February 2011 18:51 (fifteen years ago)
the iPhone NBA Jam is surprisingly excellent! the controls are really smartly laid-out (buttons for shoot, pass, & turbo [which you activate by dragging over to the icon you want to do a turbo version of], and shake the device to spin/juke) and adding portability to NBA Jam's compulsive playability makes up for the lack of multiplayer.
also if you're jailbroken and have an iPad, I strenusouly urge you to drop the $2.50 for RetinaPad since it actually works on games, unlike FullForce.

Island 7 gets me every time. I usually screw up on 6 and that dooms me.
― Jeff, Saturday, 26 February 2011 21:53 (fifteen years ago)
Really, it's crack.
I get so pissed off if I can't hold fever through the first 3 islands.
― Jeff, Saturday, 26 February 2011 22:34 (fifteen years ago)

― Z S, Sunday, 27 February 2011 01:00 (fifteen years ago)
uh, stupid question, but how do you DEactivate the "touch teacher"? i accidentally turned it on in the help screen, and now i don't see an option to turn it off!
― Z S, Sunday, 27 February 2011 01:10 (fifteen years ago)
"the touch teacher" sounds like a pedo game
― Neu! romancer (dayo), Sunday, 27 February 2011 01:14 (fifteen years ago)
and you can't turn it off! WEIRD
― Z S, Sunday, 27 February 2011 01:18 (fifteen years ago)
(actually it turned off for no reason after about 5 minutes *shrugs*)
― egregious fannydangling (Autumn Almanac), Sunday, 27 February 2011 01:46 (fifteen years ago)
I've played at least 8 hours today.
― Jeff, Sunday, 27 February 2011 02:22 (fifteen years ago)
Swore at it for five minutes this morning, threw it across room aggressively turned it off in fit of rage.
― ledge, Sunday, 27 February 2011 09:16 (fifteen years ago)

juuuuuuuust made it to island 6
it's weirdly perfect, this game. each time i play, i get better, but one round is kinda enough to last me a while
― ullr saves (gbx), Monday, 28 February 2011 23:36 (fifteen years ago)
I've been enjoying Flick Kick Field Goal for the iPad (/iPhone?), which is essentially a jazzed up version of that game where you throw paper into the wastebasket, but with some fun modes. Good way to waste like one minute when you're waiting for someone or etc.
― reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 00:46 (fifteen years ago)
yeah i've got flick kick soccer and it's hella addictive/great for the bus

Infinity Blade sucks.
― the pussy/butthole addendum (jamescobo), Thursday, 3 March 2011 16:36 (fifteen years ago)
Really? After trying most of the big names (Assassin's Creed, Mirror's Edge, Chaos Rings, etc) I'd have to say Inf Blade is, IMO, the most well-developed and maybe even best "video game" for iOS
― plax (ico ico) (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 3 March 2011 16:40 (fifteen years ago)
What about the other one? Aralon?
― Crazed Mister Handy (kingfish), Friday, 4 March 2011 00:35 (fifteen years ago)
I hate the controls, I hate the setup, and the technology is only impressive since it's on my phone. fuck a Infinity Blade IMO.
(my pick for best proper iOS video game is probably the iOS NBA Jam, which is shockingly well-done)

getting to island 5 with no fever was annoying enough, getting to island 4 with no perfects is going to make me cry
when I decide to do it
tomorrow
how the hell do you get on island 5 with no fever
― licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Friday, 4 March 2011 08:54 (fifteen years ago)
Too bugged to be playable, even now. I got about 8 hours in then something happened which meant every chest was empty...including the ones that contained quest items. So that was a complete game breaker, and I couldn't face a restart.
― JimD, Friday, 4 March 2011 10:24 (fifteen years ago)
easy, you fuck up on purpose.
i got to island 8 and suddenly had no desire to play this game again ever.
― progressive cuts (Tracer Hand), Friday, 4 March 2011 12:40 (fifteen years ago)
No, the easiest way is to just hug the ground all the way through. Let up on the gravity a bit in the valleys to build up momentum, but then hug the ground as you crest so you get no air.
You can go surprisingly fast this way!
― Z S, Friday, 4 March 2011 14:12 (fifteen years ago)
that's actually how i started playing it at the beginning, when i didn't know what fever was or perfect slides etc.
