That reviewer doesn't seem to like it very much!

I Am Kurious Assange (polyphonic), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 18:16 (fifteen years ago)

eh, the only actual flaw I saw in there was the bit about the framerate chugging; everything else seems to be exactly like the iPhone SimCity with more screen space, which is really all I wanted.

Anyone have good things to say about Mirror's Edge and/or FIFA 11?

Jibe, Thursday, 16 December 2010 12:48 (fifteen years ago)

Mirror's Edge is short, but expands on Canabalt rather neatly and sort of feels like the console version should have if it wasn't so bogged down by combat.

World of Goo is amazing, one of my favourite games of the last few years, I played it on Wii but think it should work fine on iPad in theory.

if, Thursday, 16 December 2010 12:58 (fifteen years ago)

I just bought it, but won't have a chance to play it until this evening. Stupid job.

I played a bunch of Goo last night and am enjoying it quite a bit. It reminds me of Angry Birds in some ways but the puzzles are much more satisfying.

I Am Kurious Assange (polyphonic), Thursday, 16 December 2010 16:47 (fifteen years ago)

Playing Angry Birds and Crimson Gem Saga right now. AB is wittier than expected, and CGS will hopefully entertain me on the holiday plane ride back east

Crazed Mister Handy (kingfish), Thursday, 16 December 2010 16:56 (fifteen years ago)

Also, isn't Aralon out right now? Full-on 3d rpg

Crazed Mister Handy (kingfish), Thursday, 16 December 2010 16:57 (fifteen years ago)

3pg

the jazz zinger (s1ocki), Thursday, 16 December 2010 16:58 (fifteen years ago)

Aralon's getting mixed reviews. 30 hours of gameplay but also plenty of bugs. Might wait for an update but it's at an introductory price of £3.99 at the moment.

groovypanda, Thursday, 16 December 2010 19:03 (fifteen years ago)

Sooo tempted to buy this. I presume they're emulating Bethesda games right down to the 'plenty of bugs' thing.

I mean Emma Watson Premier League fit (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 16 December 2010 21:41 (fifteen years ago)

I am downloading basically all of the EA games since many of them are as much as 90% off.

I Am Kurious Assange (polyphonic), Saturday, 18 December 2010 01:25 (fifteen years ago)

Are any of them good?

Mordy, Saturday, 18 December 2010 01:28 (fifteen years ago)

Scrabble, Sim City, Madden, Tetris, Dragon's Lair, Scrabble, Mirror's Edge, Reckless Racing, Need for Speed are all certainly worth 99 cents!

I Am Kurious Assange (polyphonic), Saturday, 18 December 2010 01:35 (fifteen years ago)

Was okay, except the computer player felt it was okay to just make up words.

Ok, grabbed Sims 3 + Mirror's Edge. Any super essential ones? (I don't like the way Madden controls on the iPhone, don't really like racing games, and I think I've played enough SimCity, Tetris, Scrabble, etc on other platforms, don't need them on my iPhone too)

Mordy, Saturday, 18 December 2010 01:46 (fifteen years ago)

scrabble is free!

i love you but i have chosen snarkness (Steve Shasta), Saturday, 18 December 2010 01:54 (fifteen years ago)

get 'geared' while it's still free.

I Am Kurious Assange (polyphonic), Saturday, 18 December 2010 02:02 (fifteen years ago)

Loving all these tips, just wish iTunes had a usable way of displaying every app you've bought/downloaded.

I mean Emma Watson Premier League fit (Autumn Almanac), Saturday, 18 December 2010 02:05 (fifteen years ago)

I really wish they had a feature that organized your apps by frequency of use so it could intuit which apps I want on my front page and which ones i want buried in the back.

Oh man, I want that to be good SO badly! If it was even 1/10th as good as the original I'd be happy (<possibly a lie). But the little onscreen "buttons" scare me. *bites nails*

I couldn't figure out how to do the ninja wallclimb and gave up. I thought it was pretty intuitive up to that point though.

You just swipe. That's the entire control scheme- swipe up, swipe down, swipe left or right...
