I keep trying to decide if it is worth it for me to get a Touch (or an iPad?) so I can play iPhone games. I really don't want the phone part of the iPhone, but I'm jealous of all the games I know I would love to be playing.

Puzzle Quest/IPhone gets insanely boring somewhere around the halfway mark.

Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Wednesday, 17 November 2010 02:40 (fifteen years ago)

Yo guys, Assassin's Creed for iPhone is 99c right now and seems pretty fun so far!!

twisted sister hazel dickens (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 18 November 2010 17:09 (fifteen years ago)

anyone played Rage HD yet?

stet, Thursday, 18 November 2010 17:47 (fifteen years ago)

BIG MUFFIN (gbx), Thursday, 18 November 2010 17:50 (fifteen years ago)

ali-baba-boob-job-bomb.jpg (DJP), Thursday, 18 November 2010 17:56 (fifteen years ago)

oh yes, yes it is.

there are points where k and i end up angrily playing each other while sitting on the same couch. it is a sickness.

O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Thursday, 18 November 2010 18:00 (fifteen years ago)

J and I have done the same thing

I got an iPad and Game Dev Story and that baseball game.

I looked up and whoops, there went my evening!

macaroni rascal (polyphonic), Friday, 19 November 2010 08:36 (fifteen years ago)

if iPad were NES, 9 Innings, GameDevStory and maybe Drop7(still haven't played it) would be the Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt pack-in

T-Rex's erotic imagination (Z S), Friday, 19 November 2010 13:06 (fifteen years ago)

does 9 innings translate to non-american fun?

hoy orbison (a hoy hoy), Friday, 19 November 2010 13:21 (fifteen years ago)

and what if you don't give two shits about baseball? still fun?

forksclovetofu, Friday, 19 November 2010 15:32 (fifteen years ago)

^my question also

O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Friday, 19 November 2010 15:35 (fifteen years ago)

bought Zen Bound after reading a lot about it but so far I'm struggling to see the attraction (I guess I'm not really looking for Zen wisdom when playing on my iphone in the metro)

licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Friday, 19 November 2010 15:45 (fifteen years ago)

xpost... no its not.

sofatruck, Friday, 19 November 2010 15:49 (fifteen years ago)

It's definitely a baseball game, but with a very fun presentation style, and good touch controls.

macaroni rascal (polyphonic), Friday, 19 November 2010 20:30 (fifteen years ago)

i would not advise 9 Innings for non-baseball fans... Angry Birds or Cut The Rope are much better games than 9 Innings but 9 Innings appeals to my awful baseball addiction.

i love you but i have chosen snarkness (Steve Shasta), Friday, 19 November 2010 22:56 (fifteen years ago)

Angry Birds has been awfully laggy since the Game Centre integration.

does everyone have minigore? it's free atm, i don't know how often that is the case. anyway, it's the only action-based game i've played on this thing (my 3g phone) that both controls well and compels me to play regularly

sleepingbag, Friday, 19 November 2010 23:46 (fifteen years ago)

aw mini gore!

shirley summistake (s1ocki), Friday, 19 November 2010 23:47 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah I just grabbed mini gore a few days ago and i dig it so far!

O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Saturday, 20 November 2010 01:34 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, the Zen Bound games aren't really suited for train environments. They're more for playing alone at home if you need to unwind after a stressful day at work.

groovypanda, Saturday, 20 November 2010 14:32 (fifteen years ago)

unwind

HIYOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Rage HD is a bit shit really, looks gorgeous but there's no game there. Galaxy On Fire 2 is soaking up increasing amounts of my time, the first few hours are quite annoyingly hard but once you get a bigger ship and a couple of upgrades it all gets a lot more fun.

Anyone else playing Words With Friends? It's fun but these ransoms always quit whenever I bingo..

╭∩╮⎝⏠⏝⏠⎠╭∩╮ (jeff), Friday, 26 November 2010 08:44 (fifteen years ago)

The updates for DoodleGods have been cutely amusing fun. latest one was a kind of RPG theme pack, with wizards and dragons and raiding parties saving a princess and whatnot.

And this one time, on Bandcamp... (Trayce), Saturday, 27 November 2010 00:37 (fifteen years ago)

u kno what's even more fun mauling someone with a 100+ pt lead after being like 100 pts behind the first few turns.

BIG MUFFIN (gbx), Sunday, 28 November 2010 05:35 (fifteen years ago)

JUST SAYIN.

Also just picked up some apparently highly acclaimed 16-bit throwback RPG called Zenonia for $0.99 (on sale til Monday!), have not tried it yet.

Someone plz notify me immediately if Game Dev Story drops below $4.

Stevie D(eux), Sunday, 28 November 2010 05:47 (fifteen years ago)

Got Zenonia last week when it was free but also haven't played it yet.

If you get the Bargain Bin app you can set notifications for when apps fall below a price of your choosing.

on sale for less than four bucks!

Ok, someone plz notify me if Game Dev Story drops below $3.99 sigh

Stevie D(eux), Sunday, 28 November 2010 22:27 (fifteen years ago)

seriously just pull the trigger already, $4 is a small price to pay for something which will have you ignoring everything except breathing in order to focus on it

"Anus Landlord": A little rough, but good. (jamescobo), Sunday, 28 November 2010 22:33 (fifteen years ago)

Totes. Its ridic addictive, and I cant even figure out why! Its like watching soaps. "just one more game then I'll go to bedahhhshit its 3am"

Frank Lloyd Webber (Trayce), Sunday, 28 November 2010 22:36 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah I already did that with Peggle. Once drank a ton of Four Loko and sat in my friend's basement until 7am. Also am only a bit into Assassin's Creed: Altair's Whatever, and I haven't even started Zenanana yet, so it's more like a "hey if it's cheap I'll pick it up so I can play it in a few weeks or whatever" thing.

Also am I the only one that just simply does not like Angry Birds?

Stevie D(eux), Sunday, 28 November 2010 22:42 (fifteen years ago)

I bought Angry Birds for some reason and regretted it immediately. So joyless.

macaroni rascal (polyphonic), Sunday, 28 November 2010 22:47 (fifteen years ago)

It feels like every shot is a crapshoot and I'm sure that, you know, you get better at aiming over time or whatever but this game gives me no incentive to continue playing it for that fucking long.

Stevie D(eux), Sunday, 28 November 2010 22:51 (fifteen years ago)

isn't it? i don't know any actual gamers that like it; even casual gamers seem kinda meh on it. It's game for non-gamers.

old LOKO heads (forksclovetofu), Sunday, 28 November 2010 22:52 (fifteen years ago)

Angry Birds takes a bit of time to get into, but once you're hooked you can't put down the bloody thing.

I never understood people's hesitation to buy a $1-2 iPhone app. I wait for sales too, of course, but $1.19 is so ridiculously cheap in software terms that you're bound to be up on the deal, even if you only spend 10 minutes using it.

xp I am the gamer who likes Angry Birds, then.

Interests: eating my cookie (Autumn Almanac), Sunday, 28 November 2010 22:55 (fifteen years ago)

Also got my eye on Chaos Rings except not for $13

Stevie D(eux), Sunday, 28 November 2010 22:58 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, me too. I can't justify that much for an iphone RPG, despite it being excellent value in relative terms.

I must say, Angry Birds is the sort of game you play out of compulsion, not necessarily for enjoyment.
