O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Saturday, 23 October 2010 17:43 (fifteen years ago)

haha forks i see you watched visions of suffering - what a light hearted romp!

O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Saturday, 23 October 2010 17:46 (fifteen years ago)

Hmm, what is up with them lately - second time this month I've gotten that "we're sorry streaming service was interrupted, have some account credit" email

Nhex, Saturday, 23 October 2010 18:56 (fifteen years ago)

maybe they're overloaded from the new PS3/Wii updates

Nhex, Saturday, 23 October 2010 18:56 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, i didn't get to the end of more than a few of those.
just the Julia Child parts on Julie and Julia, jumped around through visions of suffering/life of plants/fritz the cat, just the first twenty minutes of Lexx

The Saga of the Unkillable Mr. Poppins (forksclovetofu), Saturday, 23 October 2010 20:44 (fifteen years ago)

Last of the Living - this is like some asshole's attempt to make a cool zombie flick. shaun of the dead minus the creativity.

(bnw) (bnw), Monday, 25 October 2010 21:53 (fifteen years ago)

I heartily recommend the MST3K episode "The Wild Wild World of Batwoman" to everyone with Netflix

O'Donnell and the Brain (HI DERE), Monday, 25 October 2010 21:54 (fifteen years ago)

I wish I could watch a non-MST3K version of it. I prefer to generate my own inane commentary.

macaroni rascal (polyphonic), Monday, 25 October 2010 22:21 (fifteen years ago)

you really do NOT want to watch a non-MST3K version of this movie

O'Donnell and the Brain (HI DERE), Monday, 25 October 2010 22:22 (fifteen years ago)

like, I can't imagine anything less fun

O'Donnell and the Brain (HI DERE), Monday, 25 October 2010 22:22 (fifteen years ago)

well actually pounding spikes into your eyes would be less fun

O'Donnell and the Brain (HI DERE), Monday, 25 October 2010 22:22 (fifteen years ago)

I dunno, you should see some of the garbage I've enjoyed.

macaroni rascal (polyphonic), Monday, 25 October 2010 22:26 (fifteen years ago)

some of these shovelware film descriptions kill me:
BRAZIL: 1944 - The plot is set in motion by authoress Nicky Henderson (Virginia Bruce), who has hit the best-seller charts with her latest tome, Why Marry a Latin?

The Saga of the Unkillable Mr. Poppins (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 26 October 2010 12:53 (fifteen years ago)

CHASING THE KIDNEYSTONE: 1996 - When his grandfather comes down with a mysterious ailment, young Simon (Torbjörn T. Jensen) shrinks himself to miniscule size and embarks on an odyssey through the old man's body to seek and destroy the culprit: a nasty kidney stone. On his unusual expedition, Simon meets all sorts of curious characters, including a cute little blood cell and an irate bile duct. Vibeke Idsøe directs this inventive children's adventure.

THE ELEVENTH COMMANDMENT: 1986 - Years after his Uncle Charles (Dick Sargent) cruelly and unjustly has him committed to a mental asylum, Robert Knight (Bernard White) manages to escape and immediately tracks Charles down at an upcoming family reunion. Along the way, Robert makes a detour to abduct his cousin (Lauren Woodland). After sharing a meal and conversation, the two set off to the reunion, where Robert plans to dispense gory vengeance.

Also HOLY SHIT that the Jesco White documentary is now streaming! I haven't thought of that guy in a decade!

Chasing the Kidney Stone is amazing folks. Definitely worth a peek.
And "The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia" (produced by Jeff Tremaine and Johnny Knoxville, yet) was a great doc; I totally grew up around this kinda ghetto white trash and they're pretty wild to visit.

O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Saturday, 30 October 2010 16:46 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, it was a bummer. first half is okay and then it runs out of ideas and material and just becomes a bad history channel thing.

Babylon 5! Good suggestion. Right after I finish jackass 2.5

I have been making may way through xena, since I used to watch it twice a day in college. I can't remember if the first season was just meh, or it really hasn't aged well.

The Dungeonmaster
The evil wizard Mestema (Richard Moll) has waited centuries for the perfect opponent. He finally finds him in nerdy programmer Paul (Jeffrey Byron) -- an otherwise regular guy with an unusually close bond to his sentient computer -- whom he challenges to a series of trials. Testing Paul's physical strength and mental acuity, Mestema forces him to battle monsters, zombies and more to save his soul and that of his girlfriend, Gwen (Leslie Wing).

Dungeonmaster is terrible but pretty fun to watch so far.

macaroni rascal (polyphonic), Sunday, 14 November 2010 02:43 (fifteen years ago)

more things i won't watch but you might:

Bombshell - 1996
http://instantwatcher.com/titles/159857
Set in a brightly colored near future, this sci-fi thriller shows how far a company will go to keep an employee from telling the truth when scientist Buck Hogan (Henry Thomas) has his kidney stolen and replaced with a chemical bomb. The reason? He voiced concerns about the safety of the corporation's cancer-curing device. Now, Buck finds himself in a frantic race to neutralize the bomb and stop the fatal "cure" from being unleashed on the public.

The Monitors - 1969
http://instantwatcher.com/titles/159851
In this darkly comic sci-fi film, a race of aliens known as the Monitors comes to Earth and exerts rigid control over all of humanity, instituting a series of strict new "laws" designed to rid the world of dangerous vices. It's up to a passionate band of underground rebels (including Guy Stockwell, Susan Oliver, Sherry Jackson and Larry Storch) to kick the extraterrestrial hall monitors out and send them back to outer space where they belong.
