think 3's are moving to the top of my most hated list

been getting this thing where I'll have a 3 on a spire on the leftmost or rightmost side of the board and I can't build up high enough to get it

you gotta avoid those at all costs!

3 on a spire is usually dealable

4 or 5 on a spire (above their respective stations) is a nightmare

worst feeling tho is a 3 on a spire and you're like "ok, i got this" and then every disk they gave you is exactly not what you want.

anyone ever clear the board on hardcore? i'm wondering if it is possible and if so, does it give you more points. i've come very close many times but it always gives me the disc that will block me.

How I know that this game is ruining my life, a vvv short story :
This night I had a dream in which I was a terrorist trying to blow up a skyscraper. I looked up and realised that the building was actually a drop7 spire with a 4 at its top, leading me to furiously drop 3s and 4s in the hopes of destroying it at the base.

got my first hardcore board clear the other day; the game responded by completely walling me off w/1s and 2s within 6 levels

I think nowadays the major roadblock to getting a high score is the game walling me off with 1's and 2's

jc, you mean setting your board up in a way that will reward fortuitous drops, 'taking risks'

i mean more there being a "right" %age play 2 make on every drop

but yeah also risk/reward math too

I scored 690,000 earlier in the week. Luck definitely had a hand in it but I was in a serious groove.

698 000 yesterday! And a week ago I finally got a clear the board bonus. And this game is completely ruling my life, like I keep thinking about numbrs lining up and stuff.

Just started playing this.

Went to Thunderbird and noticed my new emails were about to stack to the top, so I immediately grouped by sender and filed.

still play this a few times a day at least, god help me

my avg score is 245,204 & i dont ever duck out on games that go badly

also there was recently some mag piece where the dude talked abt how addictive this was and from the way he described it, he wasnt even playing on on hardcore

still one of the best polls on ILX. still don't know why 4 gets such a bad rap tho when 1 is clearly the brutalest

obv 1's being hatched is nagl anywhere xcept the bottom row or as unboardered entities but having them drop is rarely a problem so..

i havent played this game in like 6 months but i LOVED re-reading this thread. i think it may contain some of my finest writing, on ilx or professionally.

it also led me to re-download it. kinda sad it's a ZYNGA game tho now

i never quite understood how to get past the most basic level of play (read: i sucked), which is probably why i never got addicted
