Oh man I love the side missions, I'm always on the lookout for the next one.
I kinda feared the poker game against the German though, as I have no idea how to play poker. I just kept pressing the green button and I beat him in no time! Good cards I guess. Agree about the Liar's Dice/movie guy.

Finally got this on Friday & wow! So far so awesome, except when my brother in law managed to knock my horse off that broken bridge into a watery grave. Haven't tried the multiplayer yet, as I'm shit at free aim - I keep losing sight of that minuscule targeting dot
― Bill E, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 03:44 (sixteen years ago)
Also somehow managed to teleport from a campsite directly onto a train while on my horse. Good times...
― Bill E, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 03:48 (sixteen years ago)
Ok, lowrider stagecoach is gone, but 3 crashes during raid on fort whatever is getting pretty goddamn infuriating. This game is fun, but it is buggy as shit and I'm starting to lose my patience.
― Adolf Hipster (jjjusten), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 06:52 (sixteen years ago)
Ugh, I don't think I have the will to play through this again, but I do want to finish it out. So disappointing.
― Mordy, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 06:55 (sixteen years ago)
mordy did the game bug out and delete your save?
― stick em up ლ(-_-ლ) (cozen), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 07:29 (sixteen years ago)
Even worse. I let a friend play with it and he saved over my save.
― Mordy, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 07:29 (sixteen years ago)

lol, it's not that bad. It's just a game. I'd probably be more upset if I were ten years younger, but these days life seems too short. Just a little bummed about it.
― Mordy, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 07:38 (sixteen years ago)
(lol @ how melodramatic i sound -- 'life seems too short,' just, i treasure the friend more than the game.)
― Mordy, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 07:39 (sixteen years ago)
when I don't really have time/energy to embark on new missions, I often get into Waco-style killing sprees on rooftops. Last night, I eventually got a "honor road agent" status - anyone know what that is? My bounty was approx. 2000$
― licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 08:02 (sixteen years ago)
Waco-style killing sprees on rooftops
did this the other night too, but on a mountain top where people couldn't get up to reach me.
annoying that sniper rifle is taking 3 or 4 shots to kill people. i guess back in dem days...
― Don't look at the finger (Ste), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 08:36 (sixteen years ago)
is the reason I'm not getting more quickdraw minigames that the first challenge i got i shot the guy in the nuts six times?
i want more duels too, still not entirely sure how to do them.
i hate those random roadside robberies. stumbled into one last night, and my auto-targetting deadeye painted the victim as well as the robbers. then it turned out they weren't robbers but lawmen. five minutes later ran into another one, wiped out everyone including the victim again.
― sent from my neural lace (ledge), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 08:37 (sixteen years ago)
also where the fuck are the rabbits, i'm falling way behind on the sharpshooter challenge.
everywhere ledge, they're very small. noted by their fluffy little white tail when they run away
― Don't look at the finger (Ste), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 08:39 (sixteen years ago)
but try very close to the ranch at the start of the game
where the fuck are the beavers?
― Don't look at the finger (Ste), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 08:40 (sixteen years ago)
i keep shooting racoons by mistake
Once you find one rabbit, there's usually a lot more in the same place. I got 5 rabbits in less than a minute the other day. I was trying to get 5 coyotes yesterday so I put some bait down and hid behind a rock, and a fucking cougar came out of nowhere and mauled me to death in about a second.
I fucking love this game.
― nate woolls, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 08:42 (sixteen years ago)
and my auto-targetting deadeye painted the victim as well as the robbers.
you'll welcome the third level of the targeting system then, it prevents shit like this happening. but it also means you're dead eye won't last as long (as you'll take more time at first getting the right target, until you get used to it)
― Don't look at the finger (Ste), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 08:47 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah I got it last night. Started using the meter-refilling tonics as well, they were indispensible on the train protection mission.
― sent from my neural lace (ledge), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 08:49 (sixteen years ago)
I find the side missions in this game SO PLEASURABLE that I'm 10 hours in and have barely completed the training stuff at the ranch and in Armadillo.
― antexit, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 15:06 (sixteen years ago)
spent all of last night going through every cupboard in Thieve's Landing to find that suit :-(
― licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 15:11 (sixteen years ago)
time to cheat man.
now i'm not sure if i've already hunted and killed both the bollard twins or not.

and I don't think it hurts your 'score'
Im trying to get the achievement to kill all the animals and I have no fuggin clue which ones are left.
Im also at 98.6% and wondering whether getting 100% is worth it..
― mayor jingleberries, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 17:28 (sixteen years ago)
of course it is!!!
― goole, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 17:30 (sixteen years ago)
biggest pains in the ass getting to 100%: "discovering" all the locations, which i think is buggy: buy and use all the maps you can find, even if you've been everywhere. and, doing all the bounty hunting: the stat is counted by location, annoyingly.
anyway you may as well check the web for the unlock list; if you join the social club it keeps track of one for you so it's not really cheating, winky face.
― goole, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 17:38 (sixteen years ago)
i think not caring about achievements & completeness is going to be key to my enjoyment of this game
― emotional radiohead whatever (Jordan), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 17:47 (sixteen years ago)
I don't bother trying to get achievements in games unless there's one really cool one
I haven't cheated on any of the Treasure Map quests and I'm proud of it. But I've looked up where to find certain animals
― CaptainLorax, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 17:50 (sixteen years ago)
I need to stop reading this thread, I'm so far behind everyone else despite getting it a few days after it came out. I was out of town for a week plus but I'm also just slow.
I have still barely played the multiplayer.
― congratulations (n/a), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 17:51 (sixteen years ago)
(try upstairs)
I still never use Dead Eye. I just shoot like fuck. Seems to work.
― Born too beguiled (DavidM), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 18:34 (sixteen years ago)
i got it last night but won't have time to play for about a week. i keep hoping that by the time i get to it, they'll have patched all the glitchy shit that's happened to you guys.
― emotional radiohead whatever (Jordan), Tuesday, 8 June 2010 18:38 (sixteen years ago)
fwiw i'm on 360 and have had no glitches or control difficulty so ymmv

I can't believe you dudes are almost at 100% so soon. How many hours have you logged?
― antexit, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 20:24 (sixteen years ago)
I'm at the point where I think I've completed every stranger quest and miscellaneous stuff possible without having been to West Elizabeth and it's probably just a matter of doing one or two more quests before I get there. The game says I've completed about 60% and I'm sure I've logged at least 48 hours into it. Since I don't have a Live Account I'll probably end up beating the game within the next week and end up shelving it :[
― CaptainLorax, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 20:37 (sixteen years ago)
Okay, just turned the game on and checked my stats. Says I'm 62% complete and total time played is 1 day 9 hours. That stat is probably wrong if it doesn't account for the time I spent without saving the game. Maybe another 4 hours I dunno
― CaptainLorax, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 21:16 (sixteen years ago)

Sweet, thanks! Tried multiplayer last night, ended up in a shootout with only 2 others who teamed up to just get me so one of the others could level up. Bastards! Not fun, will try the co-op sometime soon
