when you get to the right spot you'll get a prompt ("investigate?" maybe). if you haven't gotten that, you aren't in the right spot yet.

ah, there's the issue. I thought I needed to buy a shovel or something.

My main issue with this game is: riding along minding my own business, "help save my baby" from the side of the road, i pull off my horse and before I know what's up someone is shooting at me, I return fire, kill some old lady and now the game is shaking its head at me with a what were you thinking attitude. then, cougar attack.

Not even sure if that's an issue, but it's constant. Just finished my first few lines of plot and a few missions (american appetites just got stupid by the end); on my way to figure out how to do the trojan horse thing.

dudes you gotta go into dead eye on the tougher animals

dead eye doesn't help when they drag you down from behind and then you dont get a chance to get up

Im at the hunting mission where I need to kill two cougars with my bare hands and I cant seem to find any who want to kill me =\

my insatiable desire to lasso peeps and drag them down the railroad tracks at high horse speed is making me question my moral underpinnings.

I hate to ruin anyones suprise, but you can make em "dance boy"

empty a clip of perfect reticules round their feet they will freak out and drop their gun

crazy how no matter how many times i get caught cheating at poker, people are still willing to play against me after the duel.

yeah cheating at poker for me is a surefire way to lose 50 bucks no matter what. The one time I was successful at it I managed to sneak a 7 of clubs into my hand. Good job.

how is the multiplayer anyhow? ive still not renewed my live gold, and i think i should for this and gta4

It has a few cool aspects but ultimately people who play GTA deathmatch are the lowest scum in the multiplayer universe.

So the horse you get at the end of Bonnie's quest chain, is that a "fast" horse or a normal horse? (Should I be looking for an upgrade?)

went back to the boar spot today and was attacked by ten or eleven of them. really weird. then two cougars immediately ran up to help me get the next hunting level.

They probably smelled the boar blood.

Ended up doing about 5 hours of free roam with 3 friends last night and it was AMAZING. It's true that public games are full of nobbers, but co-opping on gang hideouts with a party is so much fun.

Yeah, splitting up and ambushing gang guys in hideouts with a few random other players can be pretty cinematic. I need to keep doing it because every time I play multiplayer I get slaughtered by guys who've leveled up enough to start with good guns.

In multiplayer, you can get auto-targeting on NPCs but not other players, right? I've read people complaining about how pointless auto-target is in MP but whenever I've had to try and defend myself from knobs in free roam I've had to try and manually aim the cursor at them.

Dunno, played a few shootouts and I'm pretty sure auto-targeting stayed on all the time. Didn't try any public free roam though, so maybe that's different?

That's the thing, I definitely feel like I'm getting auto-shot but when I try to return fire it's just trying to line a cursor up with a guy who's running round in circles with the left trigger held down.

Never had a free roam that wasn't at least 1/3 asshole, but had a good one last night where a bunch of guys took over the Mexican fort with the wall mounted cannons, and just holed up there for about an hour destroying everything that came near it.

Capture the bag is quite funny, with the narrator's constant "You've got the bag! You dropped the bag. You have control of the bag! You dropped the bag." Don't play these sort of games much in MP usually so not sure if hiding behind a rock near the enemy drop off point and shooting guys in the head when they get within six feet of it makes me an asshole or not.
