Red Dead Redemption

Is there a free-look button? I feel like I want to zoom in on scenery a lot of the time but I just end up accidentally getting a gun out.

The first time I died and woke up at the savepoint I was at 20 minutes ago was a sobering shift from GTA mechanics.

right stick is look around, but there's no zoom, I see in the stats that there's one for binocular use tho, so later in the game we may well get some.

I wish you could drop off hogtied criminals somewhere for honour/fame/cash

So my 360 finally arrived in Secaucus NJ, a 23 minute drive from my apartment. I hope it comes in tonight, otherwise I won't get to play this till Monday!

It's happened to me twice that I've seen a guy standing on his own in the middle of the wilderness, waving his hands and looking scared, and then I've got off my horse to talk to him, he's immediately tried to ride off on it, and I've shot him and then lost 50 honour as a result.

I too have accidentally shot my horse in the neck, minutes after maxing out its loyalty. I did not skin it. Do you know why? It was out of respect.

I was wondering for a while how to capture outlaws alive until I figured it out by doing Bonnie missions. I don't think I understand how to use cover yet or make the relationship with my horse go up. It's also hard to tell which horses are what kind but I'm loving the game for the atmosphere and stuff... hopefully it won't get old

I can confirm that Marston CANNOT swim. I found a cool looking waterfall and thought I'd take a dip, but the instant his head went underwater he died.

glad they corrected my main issue w/GTAIV: the mini games and peripheral activities (hunting, random prairie encounters) are mostly actually fun this time out

on a river bed, i found an old man doubled over holding his head. woman laid out in front of him, bloody and dead. When I stopped and walked up to him, he stood up and shakily held a gun to his own head. I ran up and pushed him and he dropped the gun and alternated between weeping and staring at me angrily until I rode away.

i also shot a dude in the balls and then the head who was trying to knife rape a prostitute outside a bar.

my online persona is a bit of a dick but I'm jimmy goodguy in the single player

I saw the same suicidal dude, but I spent 10 seconds looking at the scene, trying to figure out what the hell was going on, before he killed himself. Most of the little challenges I fail are because I'm sitting there twiddlin' my thumbs trying figure out who to shoot.

You have to choose it from you item and "use" it, which then switches it in as your default horse.

this game is fun. I haven't even tried multiplayer yet. having too much fun with the single-player.

I did see a guy get off his horse in the wilderness and start peeing into a river under a bridge.

I lassoed a guy off a hooker to try and go the taking him alive route, but it just made him fall headfirst into a wall and he died anyway.

The drunk guy that sometimes falls out of the bar seems to be immune to punches. I tried to lasso his body to drag him to the cells for the night and he disappeared, leaving only his hat.

I kind of hope they don't patch any of that shit.

has anyone come across the cannibals or the women being hanged yet o_O
