Yeah, if they're failing to encrypt it then maybe is does sound that bad.

yeah that's kind of a massive "oops"
― HI DERE, Thursday, 24 July 2008 13:05 (seventeen years ago)
Update dropped this morning, so the security thing is fixed now. Haven't tried it yet, but apparently there are gameplay updates too.
So Dan, if we want to clan up in this thing we need to have each other's details in our contact lists, right? We should exchange numbers!
― JimD, Friday, 25 July 2008 17:58 (seventeen years ago)
The name of that game is ridiculously porn star-y.

― kingfish, Monday, 11 August 2008 17:38 (seventeen years ago)
Kinda doesn't. I was sniffing round their forums the other day though, and got the impression it maybe hasn't been properly implemented yet.

Hey Aurora Feint, you know that other game you shamelessly plagiarised? Well, it's coming.
Anyone played anything else decent of late? I like Imangi a lot, Ashpalt 4 is suprisingly diverting, (although frame rate issues kill it really), Spore Origins was pretty disappointing. And oh, I tried Billy Frontier. Utter shite.
― JimD, Tuesday, 30 September 2008 12:18 (seventeen years ago)
Oh, er, it wasn't me, it was Dan.
Still, yeah, it exists already.
― JimD, Tuesday, 16 December 2008 17:59 (seventeen years ago)
A friend of mine "plays" Aurora Feint by shaking his iPhone, then quickly swiping his finger back and forth across the screen. He scores considerably higher than I do. ;_;

Playing Rolando now. Not sure how long i'll stick with it, but it's a step forward in terms of design, music & presentation. LocoRoco with cartoon Florida oranges or not, it's still fun.

anyone bought fieldrunners?
― cozwn, Sunday, 28 December 2008 01:59 (seventeen years ago)
fieldrunners is so-so... found it way too easy for a tower defense game, not enough towers and shit either...
― s1ocki, Sunday, 28 December 2008 03:23 (seventeen years ago)
Been having a blast with Dropship. It's a total insane shooter a la Geometry Wars - the controls take some getting used to but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. The best part of it is that the humans you rescue have names pulled from your contact database.
So far I've rescued Admiral Raggett, Wing Command Rosen, Sgt. Chaki.

is there a hack/pirate network of iphone stuff floating around yet? I don't even have the machine, just curious.
― This is a serious inquiry and there may be reprecussions (forksclovetofu), Monday, 9 February 2009 01:56 (seventeen years ago)
iphone games pretty much suck except for frenzic. i think it's a shitty platform for games. for one, tilt games are terrible. for two, my fingers get in the way of the screen or aren't accurate enough (as opposed to the DS's stylus).
― s1ocki, Monday, 9 February 2009 02:34 (seventeen years ago)
I think you can pirate pretty much any game with a certain application you load on a jailbroken phone; there's also lots of homebrew games, though I gather the market for them is lessening (except emulation) since the apps store opened.
― antexit, Monday, 9 February 2009 15:38 (seventeen years ago)
Trism is pretty good but the free Solitaire app trumps pretty much everything (although I did impulse-buy Frenzic as a result of this thread so I may be modifying that stance soon)

Lol I have knocked out about 150 easy puzzles. I still don’t quite get the hard ones
― When Young Sheldon began to rap (forksclovetofu), Friday, 22 October 2021 01:28 (four years ago)
I’m on expert! Medium wasn’t too bad, you just have to be fastidious/obsessive and taking a break helps if you’re stuck. The Experts are similar to Medium but at some point you have to dive in and start guessing several moves ahead… fortunately the undo button makes this (slightly) less existentially terrifying. Medium is probably a bit more fun - I feel more rewarded by slow deduction work than “planning out a quadrillion moves ahead” work
― Chuck_Tatum, Friday, 22 October 2021 09:45 (four years ago)
Wow have I ever become addicted to this. I don’t have a “medium” though (unless I missed an IAP) - just easy and hard.
― stet, Wednesday, 27 October 2021 17:42 (four years ago)
Yes, I meant easy hard and expert. That’s on the iOS version of star battle go.
― Chuck_Tatum, Wednesday, 27 October 2021 20:39 (four years ago)
Back in IOS after 5 years on Android and the only thing I’m missing so far is a decent simple Mahjong game. Do any of you have recommendations? Looking for something with a timer for ADHD hyper focus tapathons ideally

Playing this in a browser and it is honestly easier and more fun with the hover preview telling you where you're about to build.
I wonder if iPhone / iPad will ever get something like that?

I am way too much of a sucker for F2P season pass mechanics.Marvel Snap is pretty fun, gotta say
― Nhex, Friday, 4 November 2022 14:37 (three years ago)
I like Marvel Snap but it doesn't grab me like Marvel Puzzle Quest did. I like the idea that you can only buy cosmetic improvements to your cards in theory, but I'm not super motivated to make my cards shinier. I like the announcement of the upgrade of a card (THREE DEEEEE) more than the upgrade itself.
― reggae mike love (polyphonic), Saturday, 5 November 2022 16:47 (three years ago)
the fancier/more expensive they get, the more bauble-y
the upgrades are really just to make the feedback loop going, where you get more cards. but at the certain point (probably around lvl 250?) you start being resource-constrained. thankfully the game is still very playable by that point, you should have a ton of cards and possible decks
― Nhex, Sunday, 6 November 2022 17:45 (three years ago)
still playing Snap. i played constantly the past week to go from rank 60 to 65 and back to 59, worse than i started for the season
filled for hatred for myself and life in general, why do i do this to myself

I didn't end up getting too sucked in by Balatro, played it quite a lot for a couple of weeks but once you've got your head around all the basic stuff and cleared the initial set of targets, it seemed to pretty quickly go from being skill based to luck based? So at that point I lost interest.
