considering you wont buy any multiplayer games for the PS3, does it matter? :/

just remembered my monitor doesn't do 1080P which is no big issue on xbox where 1080i and 720P both look great but on PS3 720P looks all blurry : /

I want to pick up valkyria chronicles, demon's souls, resonance of fate, yakuza 3, way of the samurai 3, and wipeout HD... but one thing at a time. console came with UC2 so I'll focus on tht first

It shouldn't look blurry @ 720p - you must have a setting wrong (should look about the same as the 360, about). I'm sure Uncharted only runs at 720p anyway - you must have a setting wrong (look in system settings under resolution or scaling or whatever) or the cable setting wrong (or a crap cable?).

I was running it over component; I thought component handled HD (720p) but I was obv wrong. switching it over to HDMI and it is look great now, very sharp

i think there is a huge disparity with regard to the amount of time it takes for any one of us to finish a game

pretty sure he means splitting up the costs of games/add-on packs via a shared PSN account, which is completely doable

it's a shame they removed PS2 BC, I've been playing MGS1 on the PS3 and with the smoothing on it actually looks OK on my monitor. playing the PS2 on my monitor it looks like trash and SD tv is just ew to me now

also yeah jc is right, game sharing seems like a rad idea but potentially fiddly

even dvds look GREAT on the PS3, much better than on my supposedly upscaling DVD player

my brother-in-law bought a ps3 bcuz he wanted a blu-ray player to play some neil young boxset & ps3 was the cheapest player

I think that was true for the longest time but I afaik equivalent quality BD players are relatively cheap now

netflix blu-ray has been a real enjoyable thing; it's like four bucks a month more and movies look GOOD

a better argument. if only we had netflix ;_;
