When I started this game Harvest just started, and I'm on "Are You Ready for the Country?" and I STILL haven't been allowed to play!

Sushi cat is too short.

Jeff, Saturday, 13 March 2010 16:30 (sixteen years ago)

forksclovetofu, Saturday, 13 March 2010 17:51 (sixteen years ago)

Nhex, Saturday, 13 March 2010 19:36 (sixteen years ago)

rowowor is a dud. didn't know "doula," but did give me several dumb short words that i'm almost certain are made up. liked the concept, but the dictionary blows

sushi cat was fun, and exactly the right length

steamshovel harry made me lol, the final boss was amazing

Nhex, Saturday, 13 March 2010 20:46 (sixteen years ago)

Jeff, Sunday, 14 March 2010 00:59 (sixteen years ago)

It does take a while, but man, once it does you are FLYIN, crazy.

I feel absolute embarrasment and humiliation within the msgbrd context (Z S), Sunday, 14 March 2010 01:08 (sixteen years ago)

I gave up halfway through the national anthem. Never again.

Jeff, Sunday, 14 March 2010 01:25 (sixteen years ago)

Definitely some of the most innovative gameplay I've ever experienced.

Your body is a spiderland (polyphonic), Sunday, 14 March 2010 03:31 (sixteen years ago)

That's too bad, because it FINALLY starts a little bit after the national anthem.

I love the way the gravity feels. Really seems like they got it just right.

Your body is a spiderland (polyphonic), Sunday, 14 March 2010 04:20 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, but fuck those guys with the reflective shields. It's kinda like, there's just ONE too many things to think about, balancing my jumps against the gravity, the changing rock size, grabbing rocks to throw (which changes the gravity situation again, holy shit!) throwing the rocks at the dudes AND they bounce off?! Awesome concept though.

btw, finally beat specter spelunker; I hope that mechanic gets picked up for a full length

forksclovetofu, Sunday, 28 March 2010 02:29 (sixteen years ago)

Is the joke that it doesn't work?

Mordy, Sunday, 28 March 2010 02:31 (sixteen years ago)

Got it working. :) Great game.

Mordy, Sunday, 28 March 2010 02:46 (sixteen years ago)

i like that the games i put up here after steamshovel harry are all suspect

forksclovetofu, Sunday, 28 March 2010 04:44 (sixteen years ago)

Specter Spelunker was fun! I do have to say I don't love the 3D engine, which feels kind of incidental to the shrinking/growing gimmick... the 3D/perspective thing just makes it hard to figure out distances, which is a problem in a platformer. But beautiful concept.

Doctor Casino, Monday, 29 March 2010 19:24 (sixteen years ago)

yeah imagine an updated version with amazing graphics that you could zoom into at crazy magnification. has great potential.

(xp) 3d engine?! did i miss a bit? only 3d bit i saw was the snowdome, i went into the house inside and the game ended.

the big pink suede panda bear hurts (ledge), Tuesday, 30 March 2010 09:07 (sixteen years ago)

it uses a browser-3d flash thingy, so yeah look at the edges of the scenery closely. also i think it's used for the zooming in technique.

bracken free ditch (Ste), Tuesday, 30 March 2010 12:52 (sixteen years ago)

the guy didn't really try very hard on the graphics - if you've seen other games done in Unity they're pretty impressive for web games (see everything done by Blurst, like Off-Road Velociraptor Safari and Time Donkey)

Nhex, Saturday, 3 April 2010 05:08 (sixteen years ago)

bracken free ditch (Ste), Saturday, 3 April 2010 08:57 (sixteen years ago)

aw cmon, i beat it in like three minutes!

forksclovetofu, Saturday, 3 April 2010 16:42 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, just short enough for the cuteness to last and not long enough to go "is this all there is to this?" Nice thing.

lots of 8-bit jrpg hilarity in this one

Nhex, Monday, 5 April 2010 21:22 (sixteen years ago)

lol, particularly the sunken treasure level and "act like a hero"

Convenience Fish (snoball), Monday, 5 April 2010 22:10 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, act like a hero was great, just beat it. cool ending puzzle, too!

forksclovetofu, Monday, 5 April 2010 22:30 (sixteen years ago)

Nice one! Basically the first time I died in every quest I LOLed.

we should likely talk about tiger woods EA online.
Just wasted an hour. It's compulsive.

forksclovetofu, Wednesday, 7 April 2010 21:26 (sixteen years ago)

Haha, I was tempted to post about that. Continue to be impressed with the kind of stuff they can do in a web browser now (though it uses Unity) - wish Pangya was playable like this!

tinycastle was cool too but... too tiny

tiny castles is great; a half-hour well spent.

forksclovetofu, Wednesday, 7 April 2010 23:27 (sixteen years ago)

Tiny Castles really turned me off honestly - - awkward and unresponsive controls with a lot of classic platformer no-nos (delay between attack button and attacking, can't attack while jumping, can't effectively jump past a ladder, can't attack from ladders) and arbitrary non-puzzles where everything on the screen just sort of changes when you hit a checkpoint, no way to predict that and no real control over it anyway. I freely admit that this is sort of out of whack with my well-documented LOVE LOVE LOVE for "Ultimate Wizard" on the Commodore 64 but there you go.

Nice soundtrack though!

Doctor Casino, Thursday, 8 April 2010 19:57 (sixteen years ago)

I liked it because it was quick and diverting (and free).

no turkey unless it's a club sandwich (polyphonic), Thursday, 8 April 2010 20:19 (sixteen years ago)
