What about - should I have granola with dried strawberries and yogurt for lunch or cinnamon raisin bread?
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 18:53 (sixteen years ago)
That question suuuuucks.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 18:54 (sixteen years ago)
like this?http://startupblog.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/dyson-vacuum.jpg

I think it's funny the idea of repeating yourself about something. Like me mentioning what time Charlie Rose comes on twice in my life or something like that. It shows how often some subject comes up. It almost seems to define me, as if there's only a limited set of things that I'm made of, and the time Charlie Rose comes on is one of them.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 18:56 (sixteen years ago)
xpost Like that! Think of a question instead of posting funny pictures of vacuums askew.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 18:57 (sixteen years ago)
Do I repeat the same anecdotes too much?
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 18:57 (sixteen years ago)
^^ that's my question.
Uh. Okay, I'll do it, but I'm not sure you're giving the I Ching its due respect.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 18:58 (sixteen years ago)
Plus, I only have so many square inches of scratch paper.
Okay - fine - how about "Am I boring?"
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 18:58 (sixteen years ago)
totally being respectful - I sincerely don't know and want to know this.
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 18:59 (sixteen years ago)
Okay, your two readings look like
_ _ +_ __ ________ _ +
and
____ __ __________
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:01 (sixteen years ago)
This is not for the Am I boring question.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:02 (sixteen years ago)
Well, yes it is. They're similar enough that they might as well be the same.
what does it mean?
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:02 (sixteen years ago)
That's 46 and 26.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:03 (sixteen years ago)
Forty-six reads:
Potential for great advancement. A Summer sacrifice is in line with success. Obstructions are pushed aside. King Wen makes a sacrifice on Mount Ch'i. Make the climb step by step. At night, take rest.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:04 (sixteen years ago)
That's your primary reading. Since you had two moving lines, that's your advice.
To avoid being boring I should sacrifice something in the summer that involves going upwards?
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:05 (sixteen years ago)
Twenty-six reads:
The mountain peaks come through the clouds. The young charioteer urges his powerful horses and the axle breaks. The time is used to practice methods of defense. The young bull wears a headboard. The gelded boar bares his teeth. The dam breaks. Attainment!
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:05 (sixteen years ago)
If you think 26 contradicts 46, then consider it a caution.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:06 (sixteen years ago)
I will conquer my boringness by having an orgasm after getting in a fight after I get in a car accident?
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:07 (sixteen years ago)
Well, there are sacrifices, but obstructions will be pushed aside, like it said.
xpost Probably not.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:07 (sixteen years ago)
Well, I think what you're really worried about is being too boring to find a new mate.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:09 (sixteen years ago)
So in that case, maybe 46 makes a lot of sense.
Okay - both indicate that I will attain/accomplish something - conceivably in summer - and there are mountains involved
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:09 (sixteen years ago)
It's about self-improvement.
and transportation
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:10 (sixteen years ago)
and boars
Well, maybe. Or you can think about what summer represents. Like, seasonally, with regards to harvesting or planting. And it says to take the climb step by step. It says two things about sacrifice. It says there's potential for great advancement.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:10 (sixteen years ago)
Because there's some walking up a mountain? It can be metaphorical movement.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:11 (sixteen years ago)
26 is a caution. What would 26 interpreted as a caution mean?
It means don't move too fast!
That's for sure.
both of them combined - the step by step part and the thing about defenses seem to indicate that I shouldn't rush into things
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:11 (sixteen years ago)
Be defensive. You'll break through. Yes. They actually fit rather well together.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:12 (sixteen years ago)
And step by step you can be the person you want to be. I mean, you only care about being boring in regards to other people. If other people didn't exist, what would it matter? That's why I think the question implies a mate.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:13 (sixteen years ago)
So, if I'm looking at this in the context of a relationship - I should be cautious, and take things slowly, and avoid getting hurt
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:13 (sixteen years ago)
Well, yeah, that too. But your question was, Are you boring. Or do you say the same anecdotes too much. It seems that you were concerned with being interesting enough for new friends or a new mate. And so the reading addresses that more than actually being in a relationship.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:15 (sixteen years ago)
Obviously you ARE interesting enough for your friends. I mean, you're not a boring person.
so I must slowly work at not being boring?
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:16 (sixteen years ago)
You must slowly work at self-improvement.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:16 (sixteen years ago)
Think of it that way.
that makes sense - thank you for saying that i'm not boring.
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:17 (sixteen years ago)
And take it easy, because you can't hurry love and friendship.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:17 (sixteen years ago)
i think there was a song about that.
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:18 (sixteen years ago)
Maybe. Probably not. People haven't thought of everything, you know.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:18 (sixteen years ago)
If love were a more popular topic for song writers, I'd say you were right.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:19 (sixteen years ago)
everything hasn't already been done?
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:19 (sixteen years ago)
now i'm starting to question post-modernism
Well, they thought everything had been done, but then somebody invented a skateboard with just two wheels.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:21 (sixteen years ago)
they also invented the iphone
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:21 (sixteen years ago)

Iphone's just a phone people tend to stick their noses in a little extra.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:23 (sixteen years ago)
they can also send emails that tell everyone that they were sent from their iphones.
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:24 (sixteen years ago)
That's not a feature unless you're a wedge.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:26 (sixteen years ago)
yeah, but when you think about it - how many products are designed with a default that essentially advertises itself to everyone the product owner communicates with.
― sarahel, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:28 (sixteen years ago)
These days they would really hope all of them.
― bamcquern, Sunday, 22 November 2009 19:28 (sixteen years ago)
it would be like if vitamin water had this special chemical formula that would make the vitamin water logo appear on your throat - like a tattoo - if you drank it.
