I'd wager 20% of people who write for pithfork "write about music for a living" but please continue to be a crank about a list you haven;t seen yet

tbf arguing that a whole decade sucked for music is pretty chin-stroking music critic thing to do
― congratulations (n/a), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:36 (sixteen years ago)
nah, i thought it sucked without paying it too much attention.
― history mayne, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:37 (sixteen years ago)
but i get tired of people who get paid to write about music for a living seemingly being completely oblivious or uncaring about stuff that doesn't land on their desk.
This is pretty much the way its been since rock writing began. If anything, you should be GLAD places like pfork exist because now that it's easier to hear unique and different music than ever, dudes like William Basinski or whatever are getting props they would have never gotten in Rolling Stone or Spin or even Pfork ca. 2000
― ott or pop (Whiney G. Weingarten), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:38 (sixteen years ago)
the '00s sucked mostly for non-music reasons actually...

if the p4k thread keeps all the contenderizer posts in one place then i think it's actually an excellent, excellent piece of work.

sometimes when i read one of the sub-board music threads it's like i'm in a university basement with a bunch of genius scientists working on time travel and cloning while upstairs the tenured faculty is still discussing how magnificent electricity is.

when a buncha threads are crammed into a tiny space and their tails get all tangled up; and they can't even pull apart.and it gets awesome. eventually, their bodies fuse together and they form a multi-headed live music crit king and we saw one
