I have just made myself a dope ass red curry turkey taco with a sriracha lime yogurt sauce. That's a helluva start. Tomorrow I'm flying down to my Dad's so that we can celebrate in tandem cause his bday is the day after mine. A couple friends of mine are gonna do a coffeecrawl with me when I get back. there is a girl around whose interests have encouraged me to take an open mind to the likes of hayek & reason magazine. right now i'm reading "individualism and economic order" and finding myself yelling-at-the-page as often as i'm nodding in agreement. he draws a distinction between the english indivudualist tradition and the continental tradition that grew out of descartes that i think is kinda bullshit. then i come across something like this on p 20 for instance

in a way i didn't really expect he's arguing that a collaborative society full of free actors can spontaneously draw up superior solutions to the problems it faces. his insights on "emergent order" and behavior in complex systems are really interesting to me particularly as they've influenced the kinda nascent field of studying complex adaptive systems. i'm reading him less for "the road to serfdom" (which i'm not actually reading at all) and more for what he has to say about the ways complex systems behave.
