tokyo rosemary, Tuesday, 7 July 2009 20:23 (seventeen years ago)

I subscribed to the Simple Machines' Working Holiday series because it was in mentioned in "What Now" in Sassy.

tokyo rosemary, Tuesday, 7 July 2009 20:25 (seventeen years ago)

I tried dyeing my hair with cranberry juice, and it didn't work at all.

Whenever I see Ian Svenonius' name, I will always think of him as the Sassiest Boy in America.

incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 20:29 (seventeen years ago)

sarahel, I always think the same thing about Ian S.

tokyo rosemary, Tuesday, 7 July 2009 20:45 (seventeen years ago)

Thirded. Had to interview an editor from there once on Riot Grrrl in America.

going vogue (suzy), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 20:47 (seventeen years ago)

I remember Iggy Pop doing an awesome advice column. It made me wish Iggy Pop was my dad.

incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 20:52 (seventeen years ago)

Sassy didnt exist in Aus I dont think, but we have Dolly which is possibly a similar thing (aimed at teen girls, lots of sex talk and boys and diet tips and etc)

lolsbury hill (Trayce), Wednesday, 8 July 2009 00:23 (seventeen years ago)

i subscribed to sassy, and when it folded they replaced my subscription with YM

UGH!!!!!

tehresa, Wednesday, 8 July 2009 01:30 (seventeen years ago)

\(^o\) (/o^)/ (ENBB), Wednesday, 8 July 2009 03:08 (seventeen years ago)

I was soooo bummed out when Petersen bought Sassy.

tokyo rosemary, Wednesday, 8 July 2009 03:35 (seventeen years ago)

can we talk about TAB

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 20:49 (seventeen years ago)

the diet soda in the pink can or an acronym I'm not aware of?

faucet that ass (sarahel), Sunday, 12 July 2009 20:51 (seventeen years ago)

the diet soda in the pink can, but lets come up with an acronym ASAP

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 20:52 (seventeen years ago)

TUBULAR AND BABEALICIOUS

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 20:52 (seventeen years ago)

Tricky Annoying Bras - I got a couple at H&M that were really cute, but they had this weird latching mechanism that was really annoying to work behind my back.

faucet that ass (sarahel), Sunday, 12 July 2009 20:55 (seventeen years ago)

i had a long convo with a girl on nashville last night about bras, where do yours wear out first? where do you get yours and how much do they cost?, etc while a door guy was visibly annoyed by us. then she said "omg look at that girls butt, it sticks out so far" and he practically jumped a fence to look at it too

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 20:57 (seventeen years ago)

anyway she said in re: wearing a bra out that she will pop a strap eventually, every time. this has never happened to me, mine will break, tear or otherwise wear out near the clasp(s) every time. we eventually came to the realization that this is due to how we put them on. she had some weird style of clasping it in the front around her belly, then turning it around and then flipping it up. all i do is put my arms through then clasp it in the back. different strokes!~!!!

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 20:59 (seventeen years ago)

this happened to me once, but fairly soon after i bought it. i think it was just a crappily made bra.

tehresa, Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:02 (seventeen years ago)

the seam holding the underwire in is always the first to go. Sometimes I work the wire back down, and forget that it had a problem until I wear it again ... and I'm sitting at work with the wire poking me for a few hours.

faucet that ass (sarahel), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:02 (seventeen years ago)

oh man i always have that hapen within two seconds, i dont even count it i guess, haw! i jsut rip the wire out and continue to wear it.

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:03 (seventeen years ago)

I should do that ... I don't think I'm ... er... big enough for it to be a problem.

faucet that ass (sarahel), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:03 (seventeen years ago)

did any of you ever "stuff"?

lol

also, speaking of unconventional bra-putting-on methods, my grandmother used to clasp her bra and then STEP INTO IT

she was crazy <3 and R.I.P.

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:05 (seventeen years ago)

yeah i think this is from improper care but i have had underwires pop out or break a bunch of times. ugh hate that shit.

tehresa, Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:05 (seventeen years ago)

yeah i once bought all these expensive bras and the shopgirl was like "never put a bra with underwire in the dryer!!!!"

haha, are u kidding me?

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:06 (seventeen years ago)

i mean i do this all the time

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:06 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, actually in the past two years or so i have been a lot better about that and only hand washing/hang drying.

tehresa, Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:07 (seventeen years ago)

but then i feel like the detergent doesn't rinse out well.

tehresa, Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:07 (seventeen years ago)

never stuffed ... I was the opposite ... I remember being temporarily traumatized when my mom dragged me to the department store to buy bras for the first time, but I was kinda a tomboy and was 8 or 9.

faucet that ass (sarahel), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:09 (seventeen years ago)

i never needed to stuff, lol

tehresa, Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:16 (seventeen years ago)

me either lol and besides i wanted no boobs anyway

i was desperate to look like a guy until i was maybe 17. i used to bind myself with an ACE bandage

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:21 (seventeen years ago)

I used to wear oversized shirts a lot ... but partly because that was the fashion - the big shirt, leggings/tight pants thing. I sucked at pegging pants. My current bf, I learned was a total pro at this.

faucet that ass (sarahel), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:24 (seventeen years ago)

sometimes i really miss t-shirt clips

tehresa, Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:24 (seventeen years ago)

i was a little late for pegging pants, but my sister (nije) and brother did it

i wore big shirts and shorts and stuff but it was mostly for sports reasons, on my own time i did wear semi-raver pants, but that was because of.....i have no idea why i wore that. "i love the 90s"

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:26 (seventeen years ago)

my friend is so nostalgic for the 90s. like she thinks the 90s were a good luck. i am so baffled by this. the 80s were aight. but the 90s were some mess of 80s leftovers + really horrible things.

tehresa, Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:27 (seventeen years ago)

i look at my 90s self and shudder.
she is nostalgic for the calvin klein dresses and chunky loafers (not together, i hope). i get that... but i'm glad we've advanced somewhat.

tehresa, Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:28 (seventeen years ago)

i dont know about a good look, but there were many LOL looks, more subtly lol than the 80s

and i love to lol

i love cK one btw, in fact i wore it today!

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:29 (seventeen years ago)

I dunno - the 80s involved stirrup pants. Those things were horrible.

faucet that ass (sarahel), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:30 (seventeen years ago)

exactly, they are good to lol at but i wouldn't want them back.

tehresa, Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:30 (seventeen years ago)

i used to LOVVVVE stirrup pants with stacked socks. oh yes.

tehresa, Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:31 (seventeen years ago)

yes not more lol than the 80s, just more subtle about it is what i was saying

gucci gone bonkers (roxymuzak), Sunday, 12 July 2009 21:31 (seventeen years ago)
