i need a haircut too, guys!
― horseshoe, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:07 (seventeen years ago)
one thing i have found since i went short with my hair last year is that it is always in danger of becoming a mullet! like, a month will go by after a haircut and there will be incipient mullet-ness. it seems like kind of a scam, short hair.
― horseshoe, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:08 (seventeen years ago)
You need to get it cut so much more often which makes it that much more $$ and high maintenance in terms of upkeep.
― some american borad (ENBB), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:09 (seventeen years ago)
Erica, i hope this doesn't creep you out but sometimes when i am having a good hair day (my hair is roughly your hair length) i think, "my hair looks like Erica's today!"
― horseshoe, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:10 (seventeen years ago)
xp i know, it sucksssssssmy hair is way too thick to let go as much as i do though (mostly to save $$ and because i like getting haircuts only slightly more than i like going to the dr), i should pay more attention to it. i feel so much better now!
― harbl, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:12 (seventeen years ago)
i am jealous of boys because they can just buzz it themselves and not care
xp - mine's really thick, too - in order to keep it relatively short and not look like the Dilbert triangle-hair lady, I shave the back and underneath. I've had basically the same haircut for 18 years.
― incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:14 (seventeen years ago)
Aw, HS that's really sweet. I'll tell you what though - i'm having a shitty hair SUMMER. We've had so much rain that even though my hair is normally pin straight, the ends keep doing this weird winging out thing because of the humidity. It sucks cause it's not long enough to put in a ponytail so I'm stuck with like . . . oddly feathered looking hair 1/2 the time.
― some american borad (ENBB), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:15 (seventeen years ago)
xxp thinning shears work well, too.
― incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:15 (seventeen years ago)
my hair turns into a giant pillow when it's humid, u should see it
― harbl, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:16 (seventeen years ago)
Damn - I'm glad I don't live where it's humid.
― incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:17 (seventeen years ago)
Yeah seriously. If the humidity is doing this to MY hair it must be hell for people who actually have wavy/curly hair.
― some american borad (ENBB), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:18 (seventeen years ago)
now that my hair is somewhat longer i am hoping that living in a humid climate will make it wave better but probably it will just do stupid weird things and frizz.
― tehresa, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:18 (seventeen years ago)
i look like i am in deep purple when it is humid

I've had mullet-phobia since 1987. That summer, before I started 8th grade, my family took it's every-three-years-or-so vacation to the UK, and while I was there, I got a haircut. It was a mullet. It was a cute haircut for about 2 hours. I spent a couple years growing it out. Since then, I've always cut my hair long in front and shorter in back to avoid even the remotest possibility of mullet.
My cousin went to Europe a few summers back, and she and the two or three others she was travelling with all got haircuts - they all got mullet-ed except for her, but she had to be extremely firm about it.
Is it some anti-foreigner thing, or do European hairdressers give mullets to everyone?
― incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 21:24 (seventeen years ago)
Fashion mullets were really big in the UK a few years back actually.
― some american borad (ENBB), Thursday, 2 July 2009 21:26 (seventeen years ago)

― tehresa, Thursday, 2 July 2009 21:28 (seventeen years ago)
one of my good female friends had a subtle mullet a couple years ago ... I felt like we weren't close enough at the time for me to bring up its essential mullet nature.
― incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 21:30 (seventeen years ago)

i think i posted about this before, but once i was drunk in nashville and tried to give myself gram parsons' haircut. it turned out to just be a huge bang cut very crazy. bandmate upon first viewing of haircut: "this is grim"

"grim parsons" <---new JBR display name!
― going vogue (suzy), Friday, 3 July 2009 15:27 (seventeen years ago)
When I was little I let my best friend cut my bangs and well . . . it did not go well. I started crying and she handed me a pair of sunglasses and told me to put them on. When I did she said, "Oh it's ok now! You look like the lady in Top Gun!".
― some american borad (ENBB), Friday, 3 July 2009 15:29 (seventeen years ago)
haha @ grim parsons, that will make a very fitting nickname for a guy in my town, thank you
