i read a lot of BC books but don't remember them really; SVH i LOVED but only read a handful cuz they were always checked out from the library. i REALLY loved c. pike books, and also lois duncan and bridge to terabithia and others of that kind.

I cried when I read bridge to terabithia when I was a kid and also when I watched the movie a few months ago.
― tehresa, Monday, 29 June 2009 07:13 (seventeen years ago)
should we also have a blingy option for the jackets?
― incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Monday, 29 June 2009 07:59 (seventeen years ago)

― carpathian florist (roxymuzak), Monday, 29 June 2009 09:38 (seventeen years ago)

Hello thread!
I was mad stuck on everything Marguerite Henry ever wrote, and had the plastic model horses to prove it.

Hi Suzy! :-)

Thread, as if I needed further activities fiendishly designed to promote procrasturbation here.
ooh just found my old paperbacks of FREAKY FRIDAY and FOXES with Jodie Foster covers, fuck a Lohan...
― bad hijab (suzy), Monday, 29 June 2009 12:21 (seventeen years ago)
Oh that's weird - I was just talking about Freaky Friday last night! When I was little I had a copy of that on VHS and I think I watched that movie at least a couple times a week for . . . years. Annabel! Fuck a Lohan indeed.

Right now I am waiting for a person from the building managers to come over with various colors/finishes for kitchen cupboards and the like. Have been waiting for 90 mins of a two-hour window, argh. OTOH can wait on balcony with lots of sun until they turn up.
LOLirony corner: it was about six months ago I put finishing touches on kitchen decoration; now have creeping dread-suction that the contractors my landlord uses will fuck everything up six ways from Sunday.

just used that nair stuff on my armpits and now they are two burning itching pits of hell
― where we turn sweet dreams into remarkable realities (just1n3), Monday, 29 June 2009 16:58 (seventeen years ago)
yeah i was gonna say my legs got mad itchy the other night after i used this stuff but for the most part it worked really well and lasted longer than normal nair? maybe it's all psychological.
― tehresa, Monday, 29 June 2009 19:10 (seventeen years ago)

I've always used the one for sensitive skin and never had any problems. Maybe you can try that one next time.
― ENBB, Tuesday, 30 June 2009 03:48 (seventeen years ago)
I've been able to use Nair depil on even more erm sensitive areas before without tooooo much hassle... but its not the most comfy thing ever >_>
― bro down syndrome (Trayce), Tuesday, 30 June 2009 04:21 (seventeen years ago)
Veet sensitive has always treated me right
― tehresa, Tuesday, 30 June 2009 05:28 (seventeen years ago)
Actually yes Veet not Nair.

― harbl, Thursday, 2 July 2009 17:59 (seventeen years ago)

― some american borad (ENBB), Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:00 (seventeen years ago)

― carpathian florist (roxymuzak), Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:00 (seventeen years ago)

― harbl, Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:01 (seventeen years ago)
haircut here too, heatwave means I got it cut a little bit shorter than usual and it has gone vv curly.
― going vogue (suzy), Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:34 (seventeen years ago)
trying not to cut my hair for a while tbh but i could use a bang trim and i've lost the courage to do it myself like i used to.
― tehresa, Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:52 (seventeen years ago)
I think I'm fortunate that my hair is curly in that regard - because it's fairly easy to camouflage errors in bangs trimming ... which I do make.
― incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:55 (seventeen years ago)
i need a haircut too, guys!
― horseshoe, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:07 (seventeen years ago)
one thing i have found since i went short with my hair last year is that it is always in danger of becoming a mullet! like, a month will go by after a haircut and there will be incipient mullet-ness. it seems like kind of a scam, short hair.
― horseshoe, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:08 (seventeen years ago)
You need to get it cut so much more often which makes it that much more $$ and high maintenance in terms of upkeep.
― some american borad (ENBB), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:09 (seventeen years ago)
Erica, i hope this doesn't creep you out but sometimes when i am having a good hair day (my hair is roughly your hair length) i think, "my hair looks like Erica's today!"
― horseshoe, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:10 (seventeen years ago)
xp i know, it sucksssssssmy hair is way too thick to let go as much as i do though (mostly to save $$ and because i like getting haircuts only slightly more than i like going to the dr), i should pay more attention to it. i feel so much better now!
― harbl, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:12 (seventeen years ago)
i am jealous of boys because they can just buzz it themselves and not care
xp - mine's really thick, too - in order to keep it relatively short and not look like the Dilbert triangle-hair lady, I shave the back and underneath. I've had basically the same haircut for 18 years.
― incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:14 (seventeen years ago)
Aw, HS that's really sweet. I'll tell you what though - i'm having a shitty hair SUMMER. We've had so much rain that even though my hair is normally pin straight, the ends keep doing this weird winging out thing because of the humidity. It sucks cause it's not long enough to put in a ponytail so I'm stuck with like . . . oddly feathered looking hair 1/2 the time.
― some american borad (ENBB), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:15 (seventeen years ago)
xxp thinning shears work well, too.
― incomprehensible Kool-Aid swallower (sarahel), Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:15 (seventeen years ago)
my hair turns into a giant pillow when it's humid, u should see it
― harbl, Thursday, 2 July 2009 19:16 (seventeen years ago)
Damn - I'm glad I don't live where it's humid.
