Fennec fox which does grooming (ENBB), Thursday, 18 June 2009 15:06 (seventeen years ago)

harbl, all these traits you mention are great reasons never to get a cat, if you ask me. People on dis thread may be right that this is the reality of feline partnership, but you can count me out.

Also there's no excuse for neurotic or bad behavior -- that means your cat is bored and/or unhappy, which is rly your fault for wanting something furry to sleep on your face and chase a laser pointer without considering that it might be more intelligent than you are. This tirade not directed at habrl or anyone here but at legions of urban cat owners who think their horribly behaved pets are appealing.

And who then whine that their cat doesn't love them enough because it bites and scratches.

But not someone who should be dead anyway (Laurel), Thursday, 18 June 2009 15:08 (seventeen years ago)

huh?????? she's pretty happy and well-behaved 95% of the time

she's not my cat btw--i'm taking care of her until august

harbl, Thursday, 18 June 2009 15:12 (seventeen years ago)

cats are hunters. they will bite and scratch u sometimes even if u are besties.

s1ocki, Thursday, 18 June 2009 15:13 (seventeen years ago)

some are more finicky than others. i've been living my cat for 10 years and i know the subtle cues she gives when she doesn't want to be touched etc.

s1ocki, Thursday, 18 June 2009 15:16 (seventeen years ago)

i mean living with my cat. haha

s1ocki, Thursday, 18 June 2009 15:16 (seventeen years ago)

if cats don't like u u should not get a cat imo

she was sleeping like that too ^

harbl, Thursday, 18 June 2009 15:18 (seventeen years ago)

I've seen plenty of people get scratched, usually when they were mauling their own cats who clearly wanted to get down and run away. If what you really need is therapy and/or a hobby, please get one of those, and don't try to fill the void inside with a pet. Ugh clearly you can see this is a pet peeve of mine -- literally!

But not someone who should be dead anyway (Laurel), Thursday, 18 June 2009 15:26 (seventeen years ago)

fill ur void inside w/ lolcats not real cats

johnny crunch, Thursday, 18 June 2009 15:42 (seventeen years ago)

what if the void is cat-shaped

two weeks pass...

smushed a silverfish and ate it. gross!

harbl, Sunday, 12 July 2009 03:04 (sixteen years ago)

one time my parents' pug maggie came in from outside and had something slimy all over her face. I thought she'd puked but while cleaning it up I realized that she'd eaten a slug.

harbl, Sunday, 12 July 2009 03:09 (sixteen years ago)

i made a list of all the thoughts she has. they are:

i love to look out the window
i love to chase bugs
i love to play with paper
i love to go inside a bag and sit there

that's it!

one time my kitty jumped on my desk and followed this housefly around, just watching it, and then suddenly *BAP* she swatted it down in mid-air and ate it. it was one of the coolest things i've ever seem.

her soul a-wrecked-'em (latebloomer), Sunday, 12 July 2009 04:26 (sixteen years ago)

I've got a better story. I'm sitting in the computer room attempting to do some work when I hear a thumping sound coming out of the laundry room. I just assumed it was the cat playing with her little toy mouse, but instead she was trying to kill a bumblebee. I watched dumbfounded as she jumped about a foot into the air and swat the bee down to the floor like Andy Roddick smashing an ace serve past some hapless player. The bee bounced off the floor stunned or dead. The cat pounced on the bee and ate it in one quick gulp. Badass cat...

one time i thought bernard had gone nuts or had parkinsons or something cause he was just shaking his head around retardedly with an intense warrior face, and then i realized he was tracking THE WORLD'S SMALLEST BUG on the floor, seriously, smaller than a flea. He killed it of course, but its like how can i be proud

dot internet is too slow to watch youtube. i will later but i would like to share some more things about this cat.

owner told me, she will only drink water out of this jar. so i was like yeah whatever and tried to give her water in a bowl. she was right, water out of jar only. but now i keep the jar filled with water and the cat is only sometimes satisfied with it. like she'll drink it if i remind her it's there but most of the time she will scavenge water from other places: leaky bathtub, toilet, jumping on the kitchen counter to drink out of dirty bowls in the sink, and her newest thing is jumping up to the bathroom sink and DEMANDING that i turn the water on. but she doesn't really drink that either, she just stares at the running water and puts a paw in and out of it until she gets bored. it's like a birdbath! what a weird cat

harbl, Monday, 13 July 2009 23:23 (sixteen years ago)

What a cute cat!

bamcquern, Monday, 13 July 2009 23:26 (sixteen years ago)

cutest is food time, when i get the food and i'm about to put it down she opens her mouth and goes "EEEEEEEEEE!"

harbl, Monday, 13 July 2009 23:34 (sixteen years ago)

pix or it didnt happen!

tehresa, Monday, 13 July 2009 23:36 (sixteen years ago)

My kitty caught a gecko once, baffed it down by the tail with her paw. Geckos doin' what they do, it detached its tail and buggered off.

The tail remained, and wiggled around by itself. Yampy was very confused.
