BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Thursday, 1 November 2018 15:17 (seven years ago)

Perhaps, though in that case the east coast would be glowing much more as well. Maybe also Tennessee soil is just super good for digging + good amount of empty space

Evan, Thursday, 1 November 2018 15:34 (seven years ago)

no graveyards in minnesota because they send their dead on flaming barges down the mississippi

mookieproof, Thursday, 1 November 2018 16:12 (seven years ago)

ha, that actually seems to be the case in Louisiana. (Down a river, at least.)

ESSEX? The choice is Mianus in Connecticut. Great for cracking people up on car rides ("Be careful of skidding through Mianus, it's slippery").

"Be careful of skidding through Mianus, it's slippery"

"Mianus really needs to get plowed" is the appropriate reaction to this weather iirc

pplains, Sunday, 25 November 2018 19:33 (seven years ago)

How are all those state university systems considered "private employers"?

Brad C., Sunday, 25 November 2018 19:36 (seven years ago)

I don't think this answers Brad's question, but

For the purposes of our analysis, we treated some state government employers like public universities as independent organizations, in keeping with how states frequently identify and compare company headcounts. Military bases were excluded from the list. In many cases, employee counts for the various colleges, laboratories, and medical centers falling under a single university system were combined. This was because these systems frequently attribute employees from the university and medical centers together. However, when a spokesperson from the medical centers or universities identified the organizations as distinct employers, they were counted separately.
