― Mordy, Wednesday, 29 March 2017 19:01 (nine years ago)
it kind of designs itself, right?

it's great right? i'm impatient for the next volume.
― Mordy, Wednesday, 29 March 2017 19:21 (nine years ago)
seems perverse to say I'm enjoying reading about such grim events, but there it is. It's filling in a lot of gaps in my knowledge about various points - the convoluted Feb/Oct Revolution/WWI period has always been hard for me to wrap my head around, for example. I find myself referring to maps a lot while reading it lol.
― Οὖτις, Wednesday, 29 March 2017 19:31 (nine years ago)
Honestly, I think your idea was better.

A rapper who literally murders another rapper named Baby Roc, then releases a single called "I Murdered Baby Roc" in which the lyrics are just a non-veiled, straightforward description of the events of the crime. After being found not guilty, the rapper releases another single called "I Beat the Charges (Even Though I Murdered Baby Roc)"

Netflix convinced me that you can climb mt everest without training if you have enough money and weather is good. So I had an idea for a website where you pick a date to climb everest at least 1 year in advance. When the time comes, it looks up the weather on mt everest and reports back to you whether you climbed everest or died.

an autobiographical interactive fiction game where you wake up as me, with all my memories from today, but it's 14 years ago, and you have to decide whether to do things that might make your late 20s better, or go through some stuff that completely sucks but ultimately hopefully wind up with my current situation. also, moral quandary of whether it's okay to make choices that prevent my kid from ever existing.

Create one of those super-addictive app games that people spend tons of money on. Maybe one where Islamic terrorists can be playable heroes, and Russians, African warlords with child armies, etc. Basically, a more naughty version of those other ones.
This idea is probably terrible enough for me to get arrested, or exiled, so I'll scrap it.

i have a jar of coffee and a jar of sugar at work. am wondering whether i should just have a jar of (coffee and sugar) pre-mixed in the correct proportion (1:1 in my case, but it would work for other ratios). would save me literally seconds twice a day.

(last time i was in the big supermarket i noticed they were selling individual portions of (non-)milk in tiny tetrapacs. nearly bought some for the cuteness factor (except it worked out at about £13 a pint))
― koogs, Friday, 25 August 2017 10:35 (eight years ago)
holy crap koogs, that's a lot of sugar!
granted, i take my coffee black, which would probably seem pretty gross to you
― Karl Malone, Friday, 25 August 2017 15:05 (eight years ago)
Uh? That's only 1 sugar per cup. My last team lead would put 4 in...

(instant coffee this is)
― koogs, Friday, 25 August 2017 18:57 (eight years ago)
That's what I was assuming, although I'm interested to see what a 1:1 blend of grounds and sugar poured into a coffee filter would produce. Diabetes, most likely.
