i’m more apt to see dudeness & grant more latitude re dudeness in boys/teens
maybe bc (for me), among properties of dudeness, is some ineffable quality of the boy not extinguished in the man
what i post itt is posted to ‘dudes’ rather than ‘maleness’ deliberately
for me ‘maleness’ involves somewhat cold-eyed & caustic anthropological gaze
whereas ‘dudes’ involves appreesh for certain strands of maleness or constellation of maleness which i recognize with affection & esteem
