OK, I have this with subway trains. I'm afraid I'll jump in front for no reason. My friends and I named this fear of an uncontrollable destructive or ridiculous urge the Galfonic complex. See also being afraid you'll rip your clothes off and start screaming obscenities in church or somewhere else = inappropriate. Oh, just me?

That everybody is looking at the food on my plate at buffets and/or cafeterias. I avoid both of these as a result and hardly ever used my meal plan in college.

fine but i go to a caf salad bar almost every day and it is scary but i think eventually leads me to make wise choices

dude i guarantee you i'm worse. one time i was playing basketball with a friend of mine and he told me i had a bee on my back, so i threw my shirt on the ground as fast as i could and ran. he was joking.
also when i would come home from school circa middle school, if there was a bee in the house i would stay at a friend's house until my mom got home, and refuse to come home unless it was dead. i'm afraid of dead bees too.

i used to have really bad abandonment issues in middle school... the worst was one day my mom dropped me off at my carpool's house and they didn't answer the door for like 1 minute (in the shower or something) so i started running down the gravel road after my moms, i lost my shoes and got blood blisters all on my feet and my mom didnt see me, then the carpool fam saw me as i was walking back up the road and just picked me up and we went on our day. shit was rly embarrassing

Funny, a similar situ (5th grade, had to chase my dog into the street barefoot, ended up with serious foot damage) led to my consistent fear of doing damage to my feet while walking barefoot.

I made myself get over it in high school by walking around barefoot for a semester, but it still crops up now and again.

me too esp since now everyone i actually want to talk to i talk to on facebook my email inbox is like a waiting room where all the people i owe money and well written responses hang out

i love forensic files a lot but shit gives me the most irrational fears afterwards but i cant help it

there is something under the bed that will grab at me if i leave an
appendage dangling over the edge

lol me too, which is why i like those beds with a solid base

every time i'm walking in a parking lot and there's a car approaching slowly (looking for a parking space) there's always a split second where i'm convinced they're going to speed up and run me over

also, there is particular kind of scary face that my boyfriend makes which completely freaks me out

moths/butterflies flying into my face and their wings crumbling in my eyes

fear of throwing my keys into a dumpster or accidentally tossing them off a bridge if i'm walking on one

-losing the power to breathe and blink my eyes automatically, & having to remind myself "breathe in, breathe out..." and "blink, unblink..." every few seconds for the rest of my life

sometimes i get conscious of blinking and i don't know if i'll ever be able to not be conscious of it, but it goes away, or i count steps while i am jogging and am not sure i can stop doing that, but i do. it is pretty fear-inducing yeah

that i will wake up one morning looking completely different and everyone but me will notice. or that the way i think i look is radically different from the consensus view of reality

that i will lose all my talent, all of a sudden, overnight it will be gone

when the plane is landing one flap goes up but not the other and the plane spins and spins and we all die

afraid to enter any store or establishment too close to closing because i might take too long and they will tell me they're closing. i don't go in places that close at 6 if it's after 5:20. not even conscious of it.
