that makes me sad, i literally thought of her as a more intelligent interesting person for some reason

i always think of reese witherspoon as a really canny person, always constructing her public persona to fit the movies she's appearing in.

i saw a commercial for the movie that showed scenes intercut with an interview with her and she intimated that she had a little crush on jack nicholson and i was like oh, reese, you don't have to do this.

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 18:21 (fifteen years ago)

yeah it's owen wilson v paul rudd

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 18:22 (fifteen years ago)

oh, reese, you don't have to do this.
ahahaha! srsly. actors are so weird.

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 18:28 (fifteen years ago)

it was sort of funny because the steely glint in her eye as she said it totally betrayed the sentiment

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 18:28 (fifteen years ago)

or belied it or whatever

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 18:29 (fifteen years ago)

i predict she will be playing many an unhinged-mother character soon enough if she doesn't play her cards right

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 18:32 (fifteen years ago)

i like owen wilson and paul rudd but not as romantic leads - partly b/c they both remind me of my brothers! (tho my bros are better lookin tbrr)

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 18:33 (fifteen years ago)

so this movie is probably totally lost on me from the get go

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 18:35 (fifteen years ago)

Who decided that Owen was the hot Wilson Bro. when it's obviously Luke?

kate78, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 18:48 (fifteen years ago)

^^ I'm sayin! Luke is so much more handsome. I don't think Owen is good looking at all.

˙❤‿❤˙˙❤‿❤˙ (ENBB), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 19:02 (fifteen years ago)

they are both super-dreamy imo--also the other wilson brother was in whip it and he is also dreamy; they are a national treasure, the wilsons.

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 19:04 (fifteen years ago)

i watched Zodiac again the other night, which made me think of this thread and the crucial question, who is cutest:

jake vs. mark ruffalo vs. roberty downey jr

sarahel, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 20:34 (fifteen years ago)

Ruff tooooootally not hot to me so..../whois jake again?

Jesus Christ, the apple tree! (Laurel), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 20:48 (fifteen years ago)

Jake Gyllenhaal? sooooo cuuuute!

sarahel, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 20:48 (fifteen years ago)

oh I don't think he's cute at all

˙❤‿❤˙˙❤‿❤˙ (ENBB), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 20:49 (fifteen years ago)

peaked at like 17 sadly

˙❤‿❤˙˙❤‿❤˙ (ENBB), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 20:50 (fifteen years ago)

I can never remember what Mark Ruffalo looks like and then when I look him up for the umpteenth time, I am always surprised because he never looks like I thought he was going to look like. Also there is some other actor who looks like Mark Ruffalo and I when I do see Mark Ruffalo, I always think it's this other actor.

So I could never pick him as the cutest bc he causes great confusion in my life and I deeply resent it.

phantoms from a world gone by speak again the immortal tale: (Jenny), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 20:51 (fifteen years ago)

I can probably never forgive Jake for that Prince of Persia nonsense so he's out.

phantoms from a world gone by speak again the immortal tale: (Jenny), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 20:52 (fifteen years ago)

haha - i'm the same about the guy, the one who plays the pretty blond guy in Fight Club, but has been in a lot of movies since - and i perpetually confuse him with Joaquin Phoenix

sarahel, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 20:53 (fifteen years ago)

I watched Walk the Line so now J. Phoenix is well known in my head. Mark Ruffalo clearly needs to star in something I either like or totally despise so I will remember who the shit he is.

phantoms from a world gone by speak again the immortal tale: (Jenny), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 20:58 (fifteen years ago)

may i recommend you can count on me

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 20:58 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, i saw Reservation Road, and now I am clear on who Joaquin Phoenix is, but the other guy, i mean, i still can't remember his name ...

sarahel, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 20:59 (fifteen years ago)

^^ also stars Mark Ruffalo!

sarahel, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 20:59 (fifteen years ago)

Will I like or despise You Can Count on Me? Has Mark Ruffalo starred in any 19th century period costume dramas that I might enjoy?

phantoms from a world gone by speak again the immortal tale: (Jenny), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:03 (fifteen years ago)

boy

sarahel, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:04 (fifteen years ago)

worryingly it's been a full twelve minutes since mark ruffalo was cited on this thread and there's still no sign of horseshoe.

phantoms from a world gone by speak again the immortal tale: (Jenny), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:07 (fifteen years ago)

jenny, i think you'd like it! i don't think he's been in any 19th century period dramas, sadly.

xp haha rotten estela

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:07 (fifteen years ago)

if you guys have any other ruffalo questions i'm available

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:08 (fifteen years ago)

i was actually idly thinking the other day that rdj and ruffalo seem to belong to the same family of hot, by which i guess i mean BRUNETTES

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:09 (fifteen years ago)

Put a cravat on a dude and I'll remember him forever.

Still giggling at 1-888-Ruffalo...

phantoms from a world gone by speak again the immortal tale: (Jenny), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:09 (fifteen years ago)

where does Rob Lowe fit into that schema? young Rob Lowe was one of my faves

sarahel, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:10 (fifteen years ago)

I think rdj and ruffalo sorta look alike in that they'd look nothing like one another stood side by side but yet somehow they remind me of one another sorta way

˙❤‿❤˙˙❤‿❤˙ (ENBB), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:10 (fifteen years ago)

Rob Lowe looks nothing like them but is very handsome albeit a little creepy somehow. Rob Lowe circa St. Elmo's Fire = impossibly dreamy.

˙❤‿❤˙˙❤‿❤˙ (ENBB), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:11 (fifteen years ago)

like when i was teenager and first heard the Sex Pistols' song "Problem" at the end, I thought Johnny was actually singing "Rob Lowe, Rob Lowe, Rob Lowe ..."

sarahel, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:11 (fifteen years ago)

right? they share a vibe imo

xxp

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:11 (fifteen years ago)

1-888-ruffalo kills me.

horseshoe has excellent taste in dreamboats.

estela, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:12 (fifteen years ago)

<3 u and Amanda are rotten to the core <3

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:12 (fifteen years ago)

yeah they totally share a vibe

˙❤‿❤˙˙❤‿❤˙ (ENBB), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:13 (fifteen years ago)

really? i think RDj and Rob Lowe share a vibe -- they both have that kinda creepy, sleazy quality, but Ruffalo seems more down-to-earth

sarahel, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:14 (fifteen years ago)

rob lowe is too pretty, though

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:15 (fifteen years ago)

yep was going to say exactly that

I appreciate the prettiness though but it removes him from the RDJ/Ruffalo group

˙❤‿❤˙˙❤‿❤˙ (ENBB), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:16 (fifteen years ago)

he's not too pretty for me!

sarahel, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:16 (fifteen years ago)

and Jake G. is like what my friend Jen calls "gimpy" -- dorky, socially awkward guys that are really cute but have no clue that they are.

sarahel, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:17 (fifteen years ago)

I like my not-pretty men to go craggy and mean-looking with age, but Mark Ruffalo has gone sort of...bloaty? harmless-looking? Also, all those beard experiments are...eeurgh.

Jesus Christ, the apple tree! (Laurel), Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:19 (fifteen years ago)

i love you Laurel but so much rong

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:20 (fifteen years ago)

what about Christian Bale's beard experiments?

sarahel, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:21 (fifteen years ago)

christian bale has to stop losing weight for movies it is terrifying

horseshoe, Tuesday, 14 December 2010 21:21 (fifteen years ago)

i also watched the first Bale batman movie again, and there's one part where he has really good hair. i think it's when he goes to the trial of the guy that killed his parents.
