well, we did get another kitten, she is on my lap purring. i really should put up a pic, as she is adorable. we adopted her from a shelter. she is missing half of her whiskers, apparently a kid at her birth household was pretty uhhhh, "mischievous."

she seems annoyed by him though in other ways, for example when he goes into the bathroom to use litter box she runs behind him and leapfrogs off his back to beat him to the littebox and pee first and they both act like the whole litterbox thing is like the biggest deal of life. its quite grandiose
