I began keeping a diary when I was 8 years old and was not a very good speller. I still have this diary (and all other diaries and journals I have ever kept).

For reasons that I can't fathom at all now, I wrote down my age at the end of each diary entry for years.

plus then she grew up and had a little girl of her own who said, "I'm thinking... I'm thinking when I grow up, I will be Mickey Mouse." it's all too much.

First date today, got coffee, was absolutely lovely. Damn, she's like, a real person. Got a little bit of nervy "don't fuck this up" business in my stomach, but mostly just stoked.

Was only an hour and a half, so I'm all energetic now. Dating!

Reminds me of a great thing I witnessed once. I was riding a tram and a father with a little boy, about 5 ish, got on. Turned out it was his first tram ride. Little boy was wide-eyed, firing off questions left and right very excitedly: "Why does the man pull that cord?" "What's that bell?" "How do the doors open?" "Why is that man in that little room?" "How fast does the tram go?" ...all kinds of questions, on and on. Then at one point he gets very quiet, and then looks up at his Dad and says out of nowhere, "Dad, how are clouds made?"
