Tell me have you heard this yet: "This sounds like Garrison Keillor, only worse," or, "His voice is so relaxing. I could do yoga to it." Think the second one is true, if you were inclined.
― peacocks, Saturday, 15 January 2011 05:53 (thirteen years ago) link
i find it relaxing in that i float on the waves of its words+music but i wldn't be able to do yoga to it, too distracting in its art
― obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Saturday, 15 January 2011 17:01 (thirteen years ago) link
a lot of ppl find it relaxing, think ian said it was the most relaxing record, tho he put it better. there's a thing on the label website quoting a dude who wld give it to ppl at bad times in their life

more about your selection of girls on okc in brooklyn or wherever than the show. I get antsy at shows, expecially 6 hour shows. anyway, on this far-flung theoretical trip to ny, are you giving me lodging or what?

ARGH I have a gig that night
that's a great one to present at Mills because it's all refracted anecdotes about living in Oakland while teaching at Mills in the late 70's

yes(i'm writing, and what i usually do when writing is put songs/albums/playlists on repeat, and so the music comes in and out of consciousness but at the same time creates this steady non-disruptive rhythm/tone)

I'm guest lecturing Zeena's class on tuesday, so two days of hooky (& three consecutive days of Mills) is probably pushing it. Maybe, though.
