Also FYI you people who say that ultimately the cats will "take care of themselves" are the same people who say things like, "Muffy threw up in my shoes again because she's mad at me, but that's just how cats are. You have to love them. They pee in the house, they yak up hairballs, that's just all part of being a cat! Awww aren't they so cute???"

Okay actually I think it was roxy and latebloomer and I don't remember who else who said, "This is the reality of cat ownership. You have to love them." But my point stands, at no time do they ACTUALLY "take care of themselves".

can someone explain to me exactly how getting cat puke in your shoes is not part of the reality of cat ownership? or what IS your beef? that cats dont take care of themselves? i doubt anyone was actually implying that cat ownership is an endeavor free of responsibilities and cares, esp if coupled with a puke anecdote

Nonono, I didn't mean that, only that someone told harbl to keep the cats because they wouldn't be any trouble and ultimately they would take care of themselves. Having pets is expensive and a lot of work! You gotta know that when you start -- don't try to convince someone by saying that it'll be easy!

did my first claw trimmin last night. wasn't too bad

they looked a lot fatter and happier than when i found them. you can't really tell from the pix but they were sooooo thin. the lady said they are probably almost old enough to be adopted.

maine coons are known for being clumsy goofy clowns, the males moreso. but she is female. she runs into things, slides across the floor, falls off the bed. so charming and affectionate.

so, something we did NOT cover in my immunology course was CAT SHOTS. not sure how i made it this far in life w/o knowing this, but apparently you can get shots that make you no longer allergic to cats. which means i can consider a cat ^_^
