Do you have a list of prompts that are used in Reading Recovery? I
know I had one...but I can't find it anywhere! Thought I'd check
with you before I re-typed it from the guidebook! Thanks for
checking! Still miss you! Connie

First off, was this the kind of F-150 you were talking about at PT yesterday morning? (See attached pictures)

Also, here is an article I though you might find interesting. Too bad we are so frackin tight on our hundreds of emission laws-

Dear Matisha,

You had earlier expressed an interest in real estate in the Richmond area.

Are you still interested? I can set the area MLS system to send you via email any new listings that fit your criteria. Would you like me to do that for you?

Also, how would you like me to communicate with you?

Phone? Email? Don't call me, I'll call you?

Brother Michael-

I heard through the grapevine that it looks like you are moving back to the states in June. I know it must be stressfull having to move again and the changes with work. I had to do the same thing a few years ago and I know it can be a bit un-nerving. I can also say that it was very exciting and has all worked out well. I know the same will be true for you.

Bernie tells me you are playing in the Swickely Invitational in July. That sounds like a blast. I think I told you in AZ that the old group is still going to Myrtle. Any chance you could be part of a "return of the maniacs" tour? This year we are staying a little South and playing down near Pawley's Island. Here is the line up:

10/10/08 - Willbrook @ 1:35 - 1:50 (12)
10/11/08 - Heritage @ 8:52 - 9:08 (12)
10/12/08 - Prestwick @ 8:55 - 9:15 (12)
10/13/08 - River Club @ 8:38 - 8:55 (12)
10/14/08 - TPC of Myrtle Beach @ 8:36 - 8:52 (12)
10/15/08 - Caledonia @ 8:33 - 8:51 (12)
10/16/08 - True Blue @ 7:23 - 7:39 (12)

Of course the maniacs could do at least a few 36 hole days. Bernie and I did 2 days of 36 last year which was nice. Maybe add a round at Pawley's and 36 at Caledonia.

I hope everything is going well with Amy and the kids and that Amy is feeling well.

Anyway, it was fabulous seeing you and Tom in January and I hope we can get some kind of regular golf trips going. I'm going to Colorado in a few weeks for a short 36,36,18 weekend. We are playing in the mountains one day and in the castlerock area for the rest of the time.

Do you have any Western trips planned?

Please let me know what your US cellphone and address are when you get to the states. Here is my info

Hey baby brother! How's life in Bolivia treating you? I hear they are only speaking spanish to you now. That has got to be tough. I hope you aren't getting to discouraged. I can't imagine how much it must mean to Patricia that you are willing to do this. I know you are honoring the Lord by leaving your comfort zone to be a great husband. I am very proud of you. Copper is doing good but I know he misses you guys. I am emailing you from my very cool new Blackberry. Bryce says hi and to tell you he passed the seventh grade ( thank goodness). He and Heath went out and bought Mario Cart yesterday so they have been having fun with that. Emma is crazy as usual. I can't wait to read your book so send it to me soon. Well Emma is starting to fuss so I have to go but we love you guys and miss you and are praying for you.

yeah these are my thought
the first 5, but lets all get on a confrence call we have to
me , you guys, gabe, ian ,nadja and andrew

1. the podiums on the stage , i dont like very much, i dont see the point of them , could this be more purposeful, light could it be a light or a shape thats more interesting?

2, we have to start thinking about outfit maybe it could be made from reflective material and the lights on the stage can be calculated to make that look amazing , so in one song we can kill all lights and jus do one song spot lit with reflective cloths

3, we need to start getting Andrew in to the mix so we can start figuring out how long it will take to program the Limar again with new 3d images

4, i think we need to make a few more 3d film then just jimmy , because sometime we cut out that song. id like to try to do X R 2 thats could be really cool

5, shade can we have our on shape ? do they have to be in the template shapes?

2008 Good Life Gathering Theme: Assembling the Cadre - Sharing Circles; Collaborating With the Next Generation

" It is the way of the circle to help each other and for each to contribute their talents and skills for the well-being of the community. ... In the circle each person cares for the whole circle and the whole circle cares for each person."
Allen Aslan Heart; Prophecy of the Seventh Fire

Thank you for supporting the Good Life Gathering. We proudly announce that 2007 Good Life Gathering (GLG) Reports are now online - in Pictures & Text - and we welcome you to get involved this year.

2007 was our best year yet and we are still going strong. Our young people tell us that when they participate in youth gatherings; they always learn something that brings positive change to their lives and communities. They tell us that participating in youth groups is the best way to help young people to find themselves.

The Good Life Gathering has been dedicated to nurturing our future leaders by guiding young people in good directions for over 4 years. Our activities - campfires; fishing; learning workshops; healing circles; sharing our food and ourselves with our Elders and "olders" (Community Leaders) are always remembered as fun and valuable experiences.

The power of what we're doing; listening to each other and working together is now clear. This year; we are offering even more choices to help us to create the best possible life - a Good Life - for ourselves and each other.

We're happy and proud that the July Good Life Gathering has developed into an unparalleled opportunity for Youth; Elders and Community Leaders to cultivate and share the ‘Good Life’ vision. Together, we are applying the wisdom of humankind and Spirit together and creating oneness and peace for our Earth; our businesses and our people.

Calling our Youth!
Support yourself and become tomorrow’s Leaders! You'll find a wish list of things you can do to help out this year in the 2007 Report-in-Pictures (want to join us in preparations starting in May?). Check it out and let us know how to help make 2008 a great Gathering for YOU!!

2008 Highlights:
Shaping the Good Life: Sustainable Development; Building; Independent Power; Business; Filmmaking; Survival
The Good Food Gathering: Cooking; Organic & Permaculture Gardening; Wild Foods
Good Life Sports! Basketball; Fishing; Hiking; Swimming; Frisbees
Good Life College of Applied Sustainability: Learning opportunities with Community Leaders who give fun talks and workshops about Job and Career Choices; Education; Environment; Ecoforesty;
Traditional Knowledge; Human Rights; Avoiding the Bad Life and many other topics to help our youth.

2008 Fundraising
See the section below, "DONATION AND INFORMATION LINKS."

2008 Special Request:
For this year's Good Life Gathering; we are directed to invite special people that our youth can trust - people with vision and strong gifts that they share to help all people and who don’t always require money or recognition to share their gifts.
Please think about this and look around your Circle of Love and Support. If you know about people like this; invite them to get in touch and bring their special gifts to the GLG this summer!

It is so gratifying to witness the small and large victories that we have been catalyst to during past years. I believe that part of the reason for our success is Good Life Gathering’s focus to bring opportunities for every person involved to receive what they need for themselves. In this way; all are strengthened with new knowledge; resources and healing to carry back to our personal lives and communities.

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.

yeah these are my thought
the first 5, but lets all get on a confrence call we have to
me , you guys, gabe, ian ,nadja and andrew

1. the podiums on the stage , i dont like very much, i dont see the point of them , could this be more purposeful, light could it be a light or a shape thats more interesting?

2, we have to start thinking about outfit maybe it could be made from reflective material and the lights on the stage can be calculated to make that look amazing , so in one song we can kill all lights and jus do one song spot lit with reflective cloths

3, we need to start getting Andrew in to the mix so we can start figuring out how long it will take to program the Limar again with new 3d images

4, i think we need to make a few more 3d film then just jimmy , because sometime we cut out that song. id like to try to do X R 2 thats could be really cool

5, shade can we have our on shape ? do they have to be in the template shapes?

Hi PP,

This is to confirm your agreement to play trumpet in the PSU production of The Drowsy Chaperone.

The music is a parody of 1920s Jazz with winds, brass, bass and percussion. It's a neat score and a very funny show.

Huge, and I mean huge email sent to my government name about genealogy. She goes through this particular bloodline path from the Old World to the New World, solicits all of us for DNA samples, provides some reading material, etc.
Not only am I not a relative of hers, my last name isn't brought up once in the whole email.

But she does end it with this:

I have a story that my mother would not like me to tell that I'm going to tell because I think it illustrates perfectly how genealogical research can throw light on ordinary things in our lives which we never would have understood otherwise. In fact, Mama really wouldn't want me to tell it, now that I think of it.

When I was a very little girl, my mother seemed unduly concerned with the operation of my bowels, particularly if I had a cold with a fever or one of my regular bouts of tonsillitis. If they had not been properly active, she would grow seriously concerned. Generally, the case was hopeless for me. She would put a towel down on our bathroom floor, bend me over on it, pink rump in air, and administer an enema, all the time saying, "We don't want you to get locked bowels, do we? People die from locked bowels." On and on about "locked bowels," no matter how I protested the indignity and suffering being imposed on me. I could not beg or cry loudly enough to preclude or shorten the dreaded remedy. Our pediatrician recommended this treatment to lower high fevers, but high fevers were not required for Mama. Even low fevers would do.

Later, Margaret and I used to laugh about the malady. Somebody would die and adults wouldn't know the cause, and we would look at one another and laugh, "Locked bowels, no doubt."

Well, in my early research, I discovered the newspaper write-up of my great-grandfather Williams' death in a Jackson MS Clarion-Ledger. You're right: 'locked bowels." Written in black and white. He had been sent to a hospital in Jackson, to no avail. And that was where my mother's fear of the problem and all my infant suffering arose!

Dear Dartmouth Parents,
As President Hanlon indicated in his note to the campus community this morning (appended below), Dartmouth has been informed of a criminal investigation into alleged sexual misconduct on the part of three members of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
As that investigation gets underway, and as Dartmouth pursues its own ongoing internal investigation, I would like to take this moment to stress that we will not tolerate sexual misconduct or harassment in our community.

Dartmouth's sexual respect website, at https://www.dartmouth.edu/sexualrespect/help/, offers assistance and resources. Please encourage your students to seek assistance if they need it.
Rebecca Biron
Dean of the College

To the Dartmouth community,
I write to let you know that the New Hampshire attorney general's office, the
Grafton County attorney, New Hampshire State Police, the Grafton County
sheriff's office, and Hanover police have launched a criminal investigation
of three members of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences who are alleged to have
engaged in sexual misconduct. Dartmouth is cooperating with law enforcement
officials on this matter.
Last week, the College confirmed its own ongoing internal investigations. The
three faculty members are currently on paid leave, with restricted access to
Dartmouth property.
It is important to remember that investigations are ongoing, with no official
findings yet produced. However, we take these allegations very seriously and
are pursuing our own independent investigations in coordination with law
enforcement officials. (Read the Dartmouth News story,
I want to say in the most emphatic way possible that sexual misconduct and
harassment are unacceptable and have no place at Dartmouth. Such acts harm us
individuals and as members of the community.

Dartmouth's sexual respect website, at
https://www.dartmouth.edu/sexualrespect/help/, offers assistance and resources
to those in need. Please do not hesitate to seek help.

Dear Susan,

sorry, that I needed such a long time for writing you. I hope you are fine and that you have had a good return to Canada. It was a pity, that we didn’t meet again in Barcelona.

I spent there two days, visisted the Dali’s Theatre and then I got back to my brother in France, where I spent another 5 and a half weeks and took my time to think about all the experiences I made on the camino. I thank you very much for everything you told me and I think a lot of you and the time we spent together.

On July, 14 I returned to Germany and met nearly all the people I missed so much. One of them surely was Achim, the man I told you of. We are a pair since the beginning of August and it is much more beautiful then I expected it to be. Now I can enjoy it to be a woman… Sometimes it is very difficult for me to deal with this relation, but I think we will find a good way.

Since the beginning of Octobre I have a new flat of my own and I am so grateful for this new independance after more than a half year of beeing guest all the time… I enjoy it very much and I am very conscious about all the good things that happen in my life. Now I try to find a new work. I would like to do some social work and give all my personal abilities to other people.

What’s about you? Did you find a good ending of the camino with Ross? Are you still friends? I hope you are lucky too and that the camino gave you all the answers you needed and that the time in Spain will always be a good memory for your life.

It is a great gift for me that I met you and perhaps we will find a possibility to meet us again. It would be a pleasure for me. If you like, it would be nice, if you could give me your private e-mail-adress, because I don’t use Facebook.

I wish you all the best and I would be glad to hear from you.

Big hugs,

second time i've gotten an email directed to a person in ireland about a recommendation for graduate school

In particular, I remember one example of her “can-do” attitude in
relation to her approach to learning Connacht Irish as opposed to Donegal Irish. Rather than
complaining about how unfair it was to have to relearn her first language, she found work in the
Connemara Gaeltacht and incorporated experiences for learning into her everyday life.

I’m typing this up at a closing. I will be tied up until 6 and then I have dinner with my wife. So we can chat tomorrow.

I spoke with Jim last night. I would describe him as on his last rope. It is hard for him to understand your difficulty in pulling the switch on the purchase. I did not tell him anything about your thoughts on how to do the deal. I think that’s a non-starter.

I can probably get him to agree to the $300k full standby note. But that’s not assured. My thoughts on the salary are to pay him $7,500 a month for 4 months and see what you need from him after that. Give him a commission and the training fees on an ongoing basis. That doesn’t short-change his value and it doesn’t obligate you to pay him more than $30k. So you each get what you want.

You’ll have to settle with a right-of-set off on the Note. He’s not going to agree to any escrows. And he’ll leave behind $40k of cash in the business and take the A/R. That’s sufficient to run the business plus the bank will fund you some Working Capital as part of the loan. Typically $50k. They make you take it. So you’ll have plenty of cash to operate. He’s not leaving $40k and the A/R.

He is not going to send you the QB file or anything else. You spoke with Pam for an hour. A/R fluctuates from $30k to maybe $80k. Depends on the client and the sales.

Jim feels that there comes a time where you have to make a decision. Are you ready to take the next step and be a business owner? That time is now. Time is running out. He’s expecting this thing to be closing soon or he’s going to have to move on. He’s making himself $500k a year and the business is growing. He’s not happy with the $1.5 mil price but he’ll take it if you can move on it.

So I don’t think a coffee chat will help. He’s looking for action. Not discussion. You know all there is to know about Tokay and you know what you want to do with the business. Now”s the time. Owning a business is hard. I get that. That’s why I sell them and don’t operate them.

You’ve spent a long time on this and have gotten the price and terms down to a very reasonable level. You’ve got the financing in place. This is the moment of truth. Make it happen.

We can talk tomorrow.
