HIGHLY WRECK-O-MENDED

ddb (ddb), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 16:12 (fifteen years ago) link

it's good. the latter half of the album doesn't live up to the first two songers.

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 17:15 (fifteen years ago) link

I disagree.

but thanks for coming out law boy.

ddb (ddb), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 17:55 (fifteen years ago) link

it definitely gets less focused and more haphazard in the second half of the album. i mean, the first two songs are insanely intricate and composed... and later, that vibe kind of falls apart. but i still have to listen to it more. i'll get back to you on this.

(ps. u owe me ten dollers hollers)

The Amazing Jaxon! (jaxon), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 04:54 (fourteen years ago) link

It's awesome but hard to listen to in one sitting.

Hurting (Hurting), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 05:22 (fourteen years ago) link

i wish i knew what the fuck they were singing! also the main dude looks like a young robert plant.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 12:23 (fourteen years ago) link

I also like some of the stuff on the reissue a lot.

Hurting (Hurting), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 13:20 (fourteen years ago) link

all the longhairs feel obligated to this one this season

Tigerstyle Shamanic Vision Quester (sexyDancer), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 13:30 (fourteen years ago) link

i thought it was kinda boring.
i didn't give it much of a chance, though. just a few listens.

Ian John50n (orion), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 14:54 (fourteen years ago) link

it really really grew on me. first couple times didn't do the trick. but i kept putting it on and grew to love it. i am always a little suspicious of nuevo-psych at first. i have to be won over. i love the swedish lyrics/singing. i'm not big on lyrics though. the american version is coming out with an extra disc of stuff, i think. i could hit up the promo person, but i hate asking them for stuff cuz then they bug me all the time.

give it a few more tries, ian.

scott seward (scott seward), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 17:51 (fourteen years ago) link

besides just the catchiness of it, the thing that really got me was that i really can't tell that i'm listening to a new album. i've really tried to get into new music (like anything from the past 10 even 20 years) and i just can't do it. the way he recorded it, obviously on all analog equipment, adds this warm, fuzzy, midtone gunk to it that i love so much.

The Amazing Jaxon! (jaxon), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 18:25 (fourteen years ago) link
