Is this chili-garlic sauce made by the same company, Gygax?

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 22:46 (fourteen years ago) link

Yes!

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 22:49 (fourteen years ago) link

The color of sriracha - somewhat orange - is interesting.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 22:53 (fourteen years ago) link

Tim, I'm like 60% vegetarian right now, fish is the big problem though.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 23:06 (fourteen years ago) link

I was for fourteen years and had a lot of problems (which I thought were just constitutional) that just vanished when I started eating meat again. I guess it's different for different people, though. Did you ever hear about that book that argued about different blood types needing different diets? Apparently, one part of the argument was that type O is the oldest blood type so people with type O blood have more need for something closer to hunter-gatherer diet.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 23:15 (fourteen years ago) link

the best!

the chili garlic is in my fridge!

Does Tapatio still cost like 49 cents per bottle?

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Thursday, 7 July 2005 00:51 (fourteen years ago) link

Sadly no, Tim.

I had Tapatio on fajitas last night.

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 7 July 2005 01:37 (fourteen years ago) link

OK people take note: 1/2 cup of reduced srihacha is no substitute for one tablespoon of pad prik king paste. your stirfried greenbeans will not turn out right.

Tigerstyle Shamanic Vision Quester (sexyDancer), Friday, 8 July 2005 14:48 (fourteen years ago) link

The best Temple of the Dog song is probably "All Night Thing" or "Say Hello To Heaven", fwiw.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 8 July 2005 15:58 (fourteen years ago) link

As a 17 year old freshman in college in 1990, I had a millionth-generation warbly-audio demo cassette of Chris Cornell's bedroom recordings including a really, really amazing version of this song. What year did TotD come out 1991 or 1992?

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 8 July 2005 16:05 (fourteen years ago) link

spring 1991

Tigerstyle Shamanic Vision Quester (sexyDancer), Friday, 8 July 2005 16:30 (fourteen years ago) link

i think we just singlehandedly started the grunge comeback in this thread.

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 8 July 2005 16:56 (fourteen years ago) link

I WAS THERE

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 8 July 2005 17:00 (fourteen years ago) link

I hate grunge unless we're talkin' Olivelawn and the DWARVES.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 8 July 2005 17:04 (fourteen years ago) link

What is your favorite Dwarves song? Mine is "Lesbian Nun".

At a wedding a couple years ago my date and I were sat at a table sandwiched between Blag Dahlia and his date and Frank Kozik and his.

I'M GONNA BREAK MY RUSTY CAAAAAAGE

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 8 July 2005 17:07 (fourteen years ago) link

I'm very partial to "Gash Wagon." Hard to compare some of the earlier stuff to the more epic later stuff, though. Every song on the 2nd Sub Pop album is fairly great.

Have you ever heard "Saturday Night" and "Wish That I Was Dead" from Sugarfix?

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 8 July 2005 17:09 (fourteen years ago) link

No, I never heard that one! Their singles go for $$$$$ up here FYI.

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 8 July 2005 17:18 (fourteen years ago) link

i had a dream a week ago where i was sitting at a table eating a meal with some friends. chris cornell and another soundgarden member (matt cameron, most likely) show up and suddenly the entire place goes quiet because everyone knows of my severe disdain for soundgarden. a tense meal followed.
what a shitty (more grunge than noise) dream.

larry bundgee (bundgee), Friday, 8 July 2005 17:22 (fourteen years ago) link

Those songs are amazing. The insert that came with the album says "Wish That I Was Dead" is "for Del Shannon." That was the 3rd Sub Pop album. It's quite good on the whole. I didn't like the one after that as much.

I still want to hear Blag's bluegrass album.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 8 July 2005 17:27 (fourteen years ago) link

I've got an idea of something we can do with a gun.

Tigerstyle Shamanic Vision Quester (sexyDancer), Friday, 8 July 2005 17:28 (fourteen years ago) link

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 8 July 2005 17:35 (fourteen years ago) link
